Today was my first appointment with this amazing doctor! The story as to how I ended up becoming a patient of his is a little long, I am orginally from Merced (where the doctor is orginally from) I recently relocated to the coast and I was seen by a practice in Paso who gave me a estimate of over 6000 dollars worth of dental work… strange since my dentist from back home who has seen me for about 20 years never saw any of the issues they have claimed. Any ways called my old dentist for a referral and he guided me to Doctor Stellpflug, I called the office and they began to work with me and my schedule right away the amazing woman Karen up front went out of her way to contact the place I had been to before and was in contact with me right away. Skip forward to appointment day and I honestly don’t think I could be any happier. Doctor Stellpflug was so kind and respectful he examined me and reviewed my xrays with me and told me in his opinion I didn’t have any work that needed to be done! So comforting to find a nice respectable Doctor! I live all the way in Atascadero and I will be happy to drive down to Pismo to see the amazing Doctor and his staff!

I had my teeth cleaned and examined by him and his staff since I moved hereI had two hygenists, one I enjoyed very much, one not as much. It’s an energy match thing (I work in energy medicine)
You can request the one you prefer, which is a nice feature. I think Dr Stellpflug is a great, effective, nice person, with some dental practices that perhaps don’t take into account the needs of someone with a a deeper understanding of Eastern Medicine than most, hence my negative encounter with his hygenist, and I guess his dental practice «Rules».
The issue for me was the following. I go to have my teeth cleaned every 4 – 5 months and my past dentists would look at my gum «pockets» with the metal tool to assess their pocket «depth» and give it a number ONCE A YEAR at my request. Past dentists were OK with me deciding this for myself. Having these meridians manipulated with a metal «dagger» more than once a year sent me through the roof.
So, Every tooth has a corresponding meridian in our energy body, and is related to a specific organ, so if you are ill, get the meridian tooth chart, and see if you could have an infection in the corresponding tooth meridian. (Example: For Heart issues look at, Tooth #1, 16, 17, 32) If you see an acupunturist for health, or an EPFX energy practitioner, they will understand this way energetically working with your body.
For me, this practice of measuring my gums is OK once a year, but NOT every time I come to have my teeth cleaned. I asked the hygenist (Megan, who is new) to SKIP it this time for my cleaning (a few days ago) and she refused, (after asking three times, and never having her ask me why this was SO important) saying over and over, «it’s part of their OFFICE PROTOCOL «to help me have healthy teeth. Yes, she was doing her job, and her office rules, but LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS about their needs, is all I’m asking. I have healthy teeth, because I have them cleaned 3 – 4 times a year, and it is MY BODY, so LET ME CHOOSE. Unfortunately, his practice DOES NOT ALLOW the client to have control of their body.
The staff there is very professional, but unfortunately, can’t accomodate someone who wants to be in charge of their own dental health decisions. Otherwise, if you are a normal type of client, this is a good place to go.

They told me «I was family here.»
My profession involves one-​on-​one patient surgical care. The up-​most patient satisfaction has always been my priority here on the Central Coast of California.
After having 3 of my teeth removed (as recommended by Dr. Stellpflug) by my oral surgeon to improve my smile (6,000 $ + screws), Dr. Stellpflug & staff promised me a path to a beautiful smile.
My partial in-​between-​care broke twice within 4 months (with proper care on my part). I contacted the lab that made the partial in Lompoc in early June. I was brought to tears over the phone by Alicia, Dr. Stellpflug’s assistant. She stated,“Dr. Stellpflug is really upset with you. How did you know that we used this lab? You are…” I kept trying to talk, but she kept cutting be off. I kept trying to enunciate the fact that I just want to smile again. It’s really taken a toll on my psychological health… These past 2 weeks have been awful.
I miss greeting, and smiling to my patients.

Whenever I’ve had appointments at Dr. Stellpflug’s office, I am whisked from the waiting room to the procedure room in a very timely manner. This is a matter of simple courtesy but is not, in my experience, typical of medical offices with which I have been associated over the years. There is a very positive buzz among the staff members in Chris’ office, suggesting good morale exists there. After recent procedures, Chris called me later in the afternoon of the same day, inquiring as to my condition. This care and concern is a first for me and I appreciate his personal attention to my oral health issues. Dr. Stellpflug runs a great shop and I recommend him without reservation.

I highly recommend Dr. Stellpflug. He is an excellent dentist. He gives care and time to his patients to ensure he is meeting your needs. His staff is also wonderful!

Speaking for my whole family, we love Dr. Stellpflug and his entire office staff! The front office (Karen) is very helpful with scheduling appointments especially with our two sons who live out of the area. We love Kathleen who has cleaned the teeth of all four of us for years. She is very gentle and thorough. Dr. Stellpflug is very patient, kind, and caring. He really takes the time to explain everything to you. Three of us have had various procedures done, and couldn’t be happier with the care and follow up we received. The Doctor is also very careful who he refers to and we had an excellent experience when my son had his wisdom teeth out. I have the highest of praise for this office, and always feel welcomed there!

I was a patient of Dr. Stellpflug’s back when he was in Merced, CA. He is such a good dentist I take my family and we head to Pismo to have our teeth worked on now that he has moved. Not to mention it gives us a reason to visit Pismo! I’m a health care professional my self, and I feel very strongly that Dr. Stellpflug is one of the brightest and most competent dentists I’ve come across. It does not hurt that he is extremely personable and has a great sense of humor. The staff he has in this office is friendly and helpful. If you are in Pismo and need a dentist, I would highly recommend Dr. Stellpflug. Heck, if you’re within a reasonable drive away and need a dentist, I’d recommend Dr. Stellpflug!

Although Dr. Morrison will be sadly missed, Dr. Stellpflug has done an excellent job of carrying the torch for great dental care. I find him to be every bit as compassionate as Dr Morrison, spending as much time with you as needed. The office staff and dental hygienists are the same friendly people that have been there for years.
Karen, the receptionist and Kathleen, the hygienist, are amazing at their jobs and are the main reason I’ve been a patient for many years.
Of course, if you are high mantainence and proudly live your life by the mantra «I want everyone to LEAVE ME ALONE», then this may not be the dentist for you.
However, if you want a first class dental experience with kind and friendly staff, then Dr. Stellpflug is second to none.
