Ocean Palms Motel

Overall hotel was nice for the money. Room was clean. Service could be better but I think that more of a language barrier issue. Limited parking and right off the freeway. I would stay again but with that said will check out other similarly priced hotels first.

Excellent value for money in a small motel that is clean and run well. Located near the main road but still quiet. Near good eats and not too far from the beach. As an overnight stop you could do much worse.

The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful. This motel fit all our needs, walking distance to shops and the ocean. Thank you for everything you helped us with!

The room smelled like it was closed in for a while kind of put me off, but it was very clean and basic, what i was looking for since i was just going to sleep, nothing special. Breakfast was basic, and about 3 blocks from the beach, a good walk.
Bob is super nice, a little pricey for a rainy day and non peak season in January but it must have been for the location and weekend? If I’m in the area again I’ll book again, but ask for them to air the room out next time. Maybe take out the old carpet, install tile or wood? Just a suggestion

Staying here with my GF as we road trip up California. Awesome place for a great price. $ 69.00 for one night stay. Free breakfast in the morning. Room was clean. Directly off of the free way. Close to beach and shops. Nice and polite employees. No it’s not some swanky place but it’s not $ 300 either.

Decent hotel for a very affordable price ($ 69 after taxes/​fees). We only needed a place to stay for our mini getaway this weekend. I’m not picky when it comes to hotels — I just need a clean place to sleep and shower, especially if we’re never gonna be in there for the majority of the time.
They had all the amenities: shower/​toilet, towels (face, hand, and body), bed, tv, wifi, iron/​ironing, board, fridge, body soap, and microwave. They did not have any shampoo/​conditioner nor did they have any form of air conditioning besides a plug in fan. Luckily we brought our own toiletries.
We had a queen sized bed with five pillows that were extra soft! My skin is very sensitive when it comes to bedsheets. I thought the ones they provided were tolerable, except for the fact that I got two bug bites — one on my face and one on my arm. yikes.
Another reason why I gave this place a 3 stars (well I guess it deserves a 3 ½) was because we couldn’t sleep peacefully when we took a midday nap. I have no idea why they decided to do construction for several hours. It was literally right outside our door. All we could hear was constant banging/​hammering on the walls. It was rather annoying.
It was very clean for the most part. Could take their guests into more consideration when planning construction times.

Honestly a very affordable spot and decent for its price! As there are several bad reviews… Let me tell you a little about my positive experience here.
Decided to come to pismo for the weekend for a mini vacation and needed a spot to sleep for one Saturday night. Booked this place two days prior on
for a low rate of just 69 $ after tax and fees. Other spots were asking $ 100 +…
Upon arrival we pulled up into a parking spot (plenty available) and went Straight to the office. Was put on hold by the lady for 5 minutes and then procedures to get our room key cards. The lady seemed lost at first and couldn’t find my paperwork but after some struggles got it on lock.
Gated swimming pool also available by the parking lot.
Tapped the door with room key like Apple Pay. The king size bed had 5 pillows, Blanket and comforter. Plenty of space for two people and perfect for a comfortable nights sleep. Also provided are wifi, fan, iron and board, mini fridge, microwave, soap, tv with channels, hair dryer and hangers. Pretty much all the basic necessities.
Check in times usually a 3pm and Check out times are usually a 11am time. Also it’s located by the freeway for easy travels and it’s only a few blocks from Pismo Beach itself. Great experience, great value. Wouldn’t mind this spot for next time!

Great value. Paid $ 62 plus tax for king single room Sunday night. Clean Room and bathroom. Mini fridge Microwave separate alcove from bathroom and bedroom. Spacious bedrooms with table and chairs useful for working on computer. Cathedral ceilings and other nice extras.

Advertised quenn bed but they are full size beds. No air conditioning. We call the front desk for an extra blanket for my elderly grandmother and the guy was very rude and yelled at me then never brought us the blanket. We also requested a handicap room for my grandmother who is in a wheelchair and was given a regular room. Room was clean but very small and uncomfortable beds. Would never stay here again.

Let’s start with, the front desk. Rude rude rude from the beginning, i contacted them and who ever answer the phone was so rude that I give up, at arrival our room wasn’t ready which isomer had plans to go to ride atvs etc, come back and the room was shitty old looking for 260 dollars woow was expecting more than the front desk guy say oh sorry but we only have one bedroom really when I have two small children’s no discount or nothing, I say ok is only one night that after we comeback from dinner I went back to the office and asked the manager owners or whatever the guy with that ugly accent if he can provide me with pillows and blankets so I can make a bed for my daughter the answer was this No !! Woow really my daughter is 5 and 14, never again we will be staying here one because they are rude, 2 because for 250 dollars we could of easily stay somewhere else nicer but since is Labor Day weekend everything was full, and third you don’t say not to the customer about providing blankets and pillows… and one last thing the next day I went to have some of the breakfast that is included and omg the front desk guy did nothing but give everyone dirty looks like hey you asshole we paid almost 300 for this shitty room my daughter sleep in the floor with towels that lucky we have from
Home and almost freeze to dead, how dare you… Never again we will

This motel is a small one directly on highway 1. We had our stop there while driving from San Francisco to LA.
The person at the reception was really nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very basic (cereal, waffles and coffee) but for the price totally fine. The beach is right around the corner. I can recommend staying there but if you are driving from SF to LA and have more time than we did (only one stop overnight) than stay somewhere between SF and Pismo Beach for another night and enjoy the nature!

NO Wifi or TV!!!
Sorry Bob. Won’t be back. We have stayed here at least 10 times over 4 years. Rooms are getting dirty smelling even though sheets, towels and bathrooms appear clean. At least air freshener not being used to cover up! Two stars for that only. Beds getting lumpy. Wifi non-​existent. Not just slow: there is NO WIFI. Yes, it shows you are connected, but over a three night stay, we could not connect even a single time. TV service was intermittent and reception was terrible the whole stay. Management denies problems and declines any repair. There are many other comparably priced places. If you need wifi or TV, better stay elsewhere.

If I could give Zero I would… Literally the rudest people ever. So our tv in our room want working. When I complained they spent 2 hours in our room trying to fix it… It obviously couldn’t be fixed. So I asked to be discounted as I have two small children with me… The wife literally laughed in my face when I asked to be switched to a different room or discounted. I was livid. The next day the husband comes and he doesn’t even ask to come in he just tries to push his way past me… At this point I was livid and they had already spent time messing a round in there and I just wanted to spend time with my family without having strangers in there!!! It got to a point where I had to tell them to get the ef out my room. There was a problem with the box and they have to send back to charter… They knew it couldn’t be fixed but we’re acting so stingy and finally gave in and discounted us $ 25 a day. I will never ever go back. It’s not about the TV being broken… It’s about how they laughed in our faces and tried to just barged in our room. So rude and I really hated wasting my precious family time having them in our room Acting like they were fixing it when they know it couldn’t…

Decent place, room was clean, pool is nice. Also within walking distance of the beach.
But TV does not work, not good with two kids. Manager has tried to fix 3 times with no luck. Asked to be switched to different room was told «oh no no I fix». Still no fix. Asking for discount on room
Update** was supposed to get a credit on room. When I looked at my credit card statement it shows an additional charge! WTF?! Calling them in morning and demanding the credit! This is crazy! Pay cash at this place!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the clean, comfortable rooms! Super sweet management team, well maintained property within walking distance to the beach. Will definitely stay again.

Pros: The room was clean in that 1970’s bedspread/​fuzzy blanket way. walking distance to the pier and Pismo happenings.
Cons: The motel is very minimal… one blanket… exactly two towels… one tube of shampoo (no lotion, conditioner)…continental breakfast was unappealing.
You get what you pay for… won’t stay there again.

This place is only 400 yards away from the beach and 300 yards away from the main street. The hotel was clean, the outside was in good condition, and the pool was warm at night. I gave this place 4 stars because when we came back to our room around midnight our key didn’t work! We let the manager know and he issued us another one, that key didn’t work either! The manager had to come to our door with a key machine and attempt to open our door. That took about 45 mins! We got in! We stayed another night with no problems! The maid service was excellent! Our rooms were spotless when we came back from breakfast! Our shower was really clean too! Definitely gonna stay here again at only 60 dollars a night!!!

Wow what a surprise! I was expecting something less with it being an inexpensive hotel.
We came and the room was wonderful! Nice clean and new looking.
I would definitely stay again!
And the had waffles you can make in the morning

Was expecting a better experience since we have stayed here in the past and had a pleasant experience. Upon entry of the room my gut feeling was confirmed the room smelt of bad body odor and the windows were left open in hopes of airing out the «stank» for lack of a better word. What was really irritating and lead me to post about my experience was the dirty bed and smelly stained pillows and pillow cases which were clearly not even cleaned. I called the front desk and the male manager of this place said he would call back if he had clean pillows or cases, seriously? He didn’t apologize for this but instead when he found some pillow cases he told me we had probably dirtied the pillows ourselves. Yeah right. His wife was extremely rude as well. So for this we will NEVER be staying here again. Its not worth the headache to deal with people in charge who know no fluent english and are EXTREMELY HOSTILE and RUDE. Stay away if you can and definitely bring your own linen and pillows to keep from sleeping in someone else bodily fluids.
Room 109 Is the room in reference to the pictures, but I’m sure they are are this bad.

This place is awful. I booked it on accident (thinking it was a hotel I had stayed at previously) without looking at the reviews or information. Let’s start with what they don’t have.
They don’t have air conditioning. I understand it’s at the beach but that really is no excuse. They don’t have closets in their tiny rooms. I had to hang my clothes on a hook on the bathroom door. The first room they tried to put me in didn’t even have a chest of drawers. They don’t have latches on the windows. There is a little screw at the bottom that if you didn’t bother to check if it was in place anyone could open your window from the outside. They do not have coffee makers in the room.
And now for what they do have.
They do have ceiling fans in the room. Mine had two speeds: low or off. They do have phones in the room that do not work (I tried the phone in both rooms) so if you need anything you have to make the short walk to the front office. Not sure why they are there. They do have questionable Internet service. They also have a pool that is under construction. They also had a torn patio chair outside my room.
I burned my hand on the doorknob because it got so hot from the afternoon sun hitting it that it was untouchable. It’s somewhat noisy because you have to leave the window open at least a little to get cool air in but not terrible. The only good thing this place has going for it is it’s vicinity to the beach and boardwalk.
