History

Established in 1956.

The Burns & Scalo partnership began over five decades ago in 1956, when John T. Scalo and Richard «Duke» Burns shared a common vision: to be the very best at whatever they did. Beginning as a two-​man residential roofing company, Burns & Scalo quickly grew into a successful operation in the Pittsburgh region.

In 1982, John T. Scalo’s son, Jack Scalo joined Burns & Scalo Roofing. Sharing the same customer-​centered approach to business, Jack Scalo’s vision was to expand the company into the commercial roofing market. The company has flourished in it providing not only the best roofing systems in Pittsburgh, but a first-​in-​class customer experience.
