Crucial Computers

Steven Teague, the owner and only employee here stole my computer. I took him to court when he literally did NOT fix my computer and kept dodging my calls and rushing me off the phone whenever I called. Finally I actually went to crucial during supposed business hours and it was closed, I called but he said he wasn’t in the shop when he was, I could hear him talking through the door. At that point I felt like I was dealing with a scam artist so I filed a complaint. I went in Feb of 2015 and still haven’t received my computer back after filing a civil complaint against him and winning the case because he was a no show after asking for a continuance. I didn’t go in for something simple, I’m very computer literate but I am unable to solder and don’t have the tools, so I went to what I thought would be a professional. I was very wrong and hope that no one else makes the same mistake I have. Civil suits are public so you can actually look them up online. Don’t ever come here, he will steal your equipment if he’s unable to fix it. Still waiting for my refund and my laptop back.

Ok I’m no computer whiz. Took my parents old PC here because we couldn’t crack the password, and a certain other trusted repair shop wouldn’t do it since it’s a windows xp. Steve thoroughly cleaned the computer, showed me how, I never realized you could or should open it like that! Password blanked out, wireless card entered, and drivers installed! Now I can take classes online! All that and explaining everything in a way I could understand when giving the deer in the headlights stare!
P. S. Never do a system restore if you don’t know what you’re doing

I have been to Crucial Computers twice now, for two separate ‘medium-​difficulty’ issues. Both times, Steve was able to address my concerns immediately and was able to return my computer in record time. He even helped me after the fact over the phone with a software issue I was having. He is very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose my computer with an ‘off-the-wall’-type of problem that I never heard of, but after investigating found out that it was a known issue with my vintage motherboard.
The first time I walked into the place, I was taken aback by what I perceived as Steve’s lack of customer skills, but I now think that it is just his personality. I think he could maybe work a little on it a bit, but the bottom line is that he seems to do his job well, and that is what really counts. I plan to return to Crucial Computers in the future for my computing and repair needs!

I accidentally dropped my laptop and it was not working. I sent to CC in the morning and it was ready by 2pm.
When I went to pick my laptop up, I checked, it worked. And to my surprise, it became very clean, and Steven told me he also helped me cleaned the inside, there was a lot of dust in the fan.
I really appreciated! And strongly recommend Crucial Computer!

UPDATE:
In response to Steven T. of Crucial Computers:
1. I of course read my motherboard manual. That’s why I requested DDR RAM rated at 1333. It was assured in your store that the higher rated RAM would work.
2. Yes I did request «50 dollar» RAM because that’s how much the type of RAM I was looking for was on NewEgg. I don’t see any problem with comparison shopping. You DID offer to haggle with me on the RAM. That was great but who cares what kind of discount you gave me when the RAM doesn’t work?
3. When I came to return it you told me something along the lines of «If you determined that RAM was defective and it was unopened we could maybe do something.» How many people are capable of determining their RAM is defective before opening it? That sounds very much like a policy meant to reduce the amount of returns that you will actually allow.
Most of these facts are neither here nor there. Upgrading older computers is a tricky business– that’s why I choose to purchase my parts local for easy returns. The fact of the matter is it’s ridiculous that Crucial Computers refused a return of RAM only 6 business days after they pushed it on me, without making me aware of any return policies. At the very least I’ve certainly experienced better.
