Went there before a play. They had very interesting art work featuring some unknown artists in Pittsburgh. The coffee was good. The menu featured a Haiti dish. They have a little work to do, but all in all good safe place to chill for a minute.

Innocuous from the outside, the inside of this building houses a cozy little café with several two-person tables. At the counter you can get a number of interesting sounding drinks including Mango lattes and fair-trade Haitian coffee. The owner is Haitian herself, and thus the menu is inspired by those flavors. The coffee is a slightly above average in price at $ 2, but the quality more than makes up for it(The iced coffee we got was dark and made well) and the food prices are cheap($ 5 for sandwiches and wraps). Great to have two local coffee places on this street, Kazanda’s has good hours so you don’t have to be lucky to catch them. Definitely worth a visit if you need some relief from the guilt of supporting Target or just want a great cup of coffee. I believe they also have a stand at the Pittsburgh Public Market, but I’m not sure. It seems they also hold events every so often. Live music in September and African drumming in August, so check the facebook for what is coming up.
