History

Established in 2007.

In 2007, Faye Miller and Rachel Dennis founded a project called Creative Reuse Pittsburgh (CRP), with support from a Sprout Fund Seed Award. Inspired by the work of creative reuse organizations in other parts of the country, their goal was to establish a creative reuse center in Pittsburgh, Faye’s hometown.

In 2008, CRP became a project of the Pennsylvania Resources Council. In 2011 it moved from a small upstairs location within Construction Junction, to the new storefront it now occupies, and it became the Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse. In early 2013, PCCR became its own, independent non-profit organization.
