«Your father wants a remote-controlled helicopter for Christmas,» my mother told me when I interrogated her about possible gifts for my daffy dad. Where to get one, though? Ah, Radio Shack. I recalled the one that stands in Brentwood Townesquare and headed over to see if they had such a present. And they did, at a dandy price I might add. The two young fellows manning the shop were quite helpful and amused that I was buying a toy for my sixty-something father and not an adolescent relative. «Hell, my dad just asks for cases of beer,» one of them mentioned. Now my parents’ cats have something to chase or live in fear of. Whirrrrr…

I went here to simply buy a watch battery, and like the last 3 times I have been there they didn’t have what I was looking for. They wanted me to pay for it and then ship it to my house. Which might have been ok, except I wanted it now not a week from now. Then, the battery cost $ 5.99 and the shipping was $ 6.05. Yep, that right they were going to charge more to ship it to me, than what the battery cost. Totally unacceptable! Then they had the nerve to try to sell me a cell phone. I went home and found the battery on the internet for a fraction of the price. So I ordered 4 of them and it was still less than what Radio Shack was going to charge me. Next time if Wal-Mart doesn’t have what I’m looking for, I will just look to the internet and save my gas money.
