Salud Juicery

Love this place! The bowls always fill me up and leave me happy. The ingredients are always so fresh and tasty. Don’t b afraid to ask the employees anything about the menu because they are all very friendly and helpful!

I love Salud Juicery. I first got to try some samples at one of the Unilocal events and came back regularly ever since! My favorite is the «red headed Irish» to wake me up in the mornings. But I have tried many other juices as well and was never disappointed. I like the story behind their little store in that they try to cleanse the body and mind and that food in its natural state is the best for doing so. I fully agree.
The store itself can be a bit hard to find as there is no big sign to lead you there. But it’s right across the Starbucks on Copeland. Walk up the stairs, you’ll see a huge «open» sign and walk into a little oasis. The store is small, but stylish and calming. Their selection of juices, smoothies and «shots» (non alcoholic of course) is huge. They also serve kombucha and from what I have seen some «power bowls» which unfortunately I haven’t tried yet. The prices are very reasonable I would say for what you get. Freshest ingredients and a nice atmosphere.
In addition, they also offer juice cleanses. And even if you’re quite spontaneous you’ll just have to give them a 24h heads up and you’re all set for your new lifestyle! Highly recommend Salud Juicery.

I had the acai bowl and a pomegranate juice here. They got our order wrong the first time (gave us the wrong acai bowl that we did not order), and they forgot to remake our order the second time. Their bad service isn’t the reason for my 2 stars. I’m from California where acai bowl stores are everywhere — the acai bowl I had here was not a real acai bowl. The consistency was off, the color definitely was not the color of acai, the taste was off, the toppings were dry ingredients rather than fresh fruit — overall not worth the price! I would never come here to spend that much money on a terrible acai bowl. The pomegranate juice tasted alright, except that It was so expensive but tasted just like POM juice.

I love juices and smoothies and only just now learned of this awesome little gem of a juice bar. I got the green Anna bread smoothie and it was so delicious and filling! I can’t wait to go back to try something different. The menu is varied and interesting with delightful combinations I look forward to exploring. Yum!

I got the acai bowl, and it was alright. The color and consistency of the acai was off. The reason I’m giving this place two stars is the service was horrible today. I ordered the berry superbowl and after waiting, my order came out. My friend also ordered the same thing but our orders came out different. I went up to the counter and kept asking if this was the berry superbowl. The workers said it was, but another worker said it wasn’t so they took it back. After waiting 20 minutes, I didn’t receive my acai bowl, so I asked again if my bowl was coming out. They forgot that they messed up my order. Then they mistook me for another customer. After another ten minutes, my order came out.

I’d say my newest guilty pleasure, but no guilt! Juices are fantastic, Green-​anna Bread smoothy was super yummy (and filling), and their kombucha is delish. The ginger wake up shots are ridic. Best of all are the Juice-​istas — is that a thing?. Folks are fun, experimental and efficient.

Awesome place with tons of options. Personal favorites: Kevlar press coffee and green-​ana smoothie. Kombucha on tap is good, but a little pricey.

I’ve had two smoothies from here and I’ll be back again to try one of their bowls! Fresh, tasty stuff and wonderfully kind staff.

I like getting the acai bowls here, though the consistency tends to vary depending on who makes it. The portions are huge, and the price is reasonable. The juices are great as well, and I also love that they offer Kombucha which you can spike with a juice of your choosing.
They have free wifi and local coffee from La Prima Espresso Co. Employees are very nice.

Great lil place to buy cold pressed juices! Very fresh and they also make pint sizes, which I love! Everyone is super friendly too. I also think the location is perfect. I’m really rooting for them.

I have stopped at Salud Juicery twice now. Both smoothies I got were good but nothing overly exciting. I’ve gotten the Green Anna Bread smoothie & the Racers Edge smoothie. I loved the Green Anna Bread, would definitely get again & the Racers Edge was ok but would not really bother getting a second time. My husband ordered the Jungle VIP which was really good & the Toned Yogi which neither of us liked.
It’s great that they have a lot of different options from smoothies to juices to coffee. You’re guaranteed to find something here you like. It’s also nice that they give you the choice of 2 different size drinks. I think the larger size is reasonably priced for the size of the drink. They also do offer a stamp card, which is always nice.
I love that more juice bars are opening up around town. I want them all to thrive, we need more healthy choices in the city. you really can’t have too many options.
Will definitely be going back to try some more drinks. And would definitely recommend checking them out.

Great staff, great juice, and try the Solar Shot!

After an early hot yoga session yesterday my friend and I stopped here at around 8:30 am because we were hungry. This place is our new favorite spot. A little pricey but the drinks are really great!

Salud Juicery has an amazing green anna smoothie that is to die for! I highly recommend their ginger shot to boost immune system and the green anna smoothie (Tastes like banana bread which chocolate chips). The owner is very sweet and is a family marital therapist. Your mind and body are all connected and she knows all about physical and mental health. Go try it out for yourself!

Absolutely no complaints. And, I am a complainer, especially about smoothies and juices. I love my morning smoothie, but I am picky — I don’t want added sugar, I don’t want tons of ice, I don’t want chunks, and don’t give me a thin smoothie… Salud answered my every need with the Green-​anana smoothie. It was rich, filling, and packed with spinach and goodies. Better yet, the regular size is $ 7 and great for sharing with the hubs. For all the good ingredients and attention, I was happy with the pricing. Also, can’t complain about the atmosphere or staff.

Wow! The Unilocal event held at Salud Juicery today reminds me 1) why I want to become elite 2) why I love to write reviews. Without Unilocal,finding out about some of these businesses would be very difficult. Aside from Salud’s sign on the sidewalk, it would be rather hard to locate the building because it’s upstairs from a couple other businesses that are beneath it. No fear! Just look up and the unmarked building is there. This place truly fits the definition of HIDDEN GEM. Not often do I go out searching for juiceries (I may have just created my own word? :-P) in the city, but wow does this place make me want to start! You may wonder what a juicery is like, or what they could possibly have that is fun or appetizing, and the answer to those questions would be EVERYTHING! Not only is this place diet friendly with all natural ingredients like fruits, soy protein and of course greens, but the drinks are fun and invigorating, leaving you wanting to try every single item on the menu!
Down to the good stuff… what I tried:
JUICES & REFRESHERS:
1. Smilin’ Irish (organic spinach, kale, apple, lemon, cucumber) (GREENS)
— This was one of my favorites! The spinach and kale weren’t dominant flavors, but the lemon and cucumber were, making it a wonderful concoction of healthy and yummy! Totally refreshing and invigorating.
2. Jane Good’All (orange, strawberry, peach, banana, coconut water) (CITRUS)
–This was very good, but not my favorite. Because my palette was introduced to so many flavors in a short period of time, I think it was dulled by how amazing this drink could be had I not tried so many other menu items. It was fruity and fresh for sure and doesn’t contain greens, which may be more appealing to people new to juicing.
3. Spicy Lemon (lemon, cayenne pepper, agave, filtered water) (CITRUS) (Regular size $ 5.40)
— This juice was really refreshing. The lemon/​ginger was a dominant combination, giving a special zing to a juice that you probably never experienced! I actually bought it to take home to my dad because he is a huge at home juicer! He savored it as long as possible and totally enjoyed it! The other plus side is that these drinks are transportable and stay cold if you are looking to share the goodness with someone you live with!
4. Cashew Blender
— The cashew blender was a sample I tried that I enjoyed. The best way I can describe it is that it sort of tastes like a less thick version of almond milk. It was really great.

5. Solar Ray (lemon, ginger, cayenne, tumeric)
–I honestly would have to say this was my favorite. It is really hard to explain. Let’s just say this shot is not for the weak. The ginger and tumeric give the shot a spicy taste, but it is a different type of spicy than most foods. It’s ginger spicy. Anyone who has had ginger probably understands what this means. It instantly cools your throat and is said to help if you have frequent colds. This shot will SHOCK your senses in the wildest way! I love it!
SMOOTHIES
6. Berry Glad to Meet You (blueberry, apple, almond milk, strawberry) (Petite $ 4.50)
–Fruity, fun, with a hint of almond milk. This is your average berry smoothie taste, of course with better ingredients.
7. Jungle VIP (pineapple, banana, orange, strawberry, coconut)
–Aside from the Solar Ray health shot, this by far was my favorite beverage. All of nature’s most wonderful flavors blended in a smoothie full of amazingness! I would totally recommend this to everyone and anyone.
8. Racers Edge (banana, cacao, peanuts, oats, nutmeg)
— It tasted like a peanut butter smoothie. It was wonderful but when I get a smoothie, I tend to go the fruit route, so the peanut butter wouldn’t be my first go to, though it was awesome.
Now that I’ve completed my dissertation on how amazing Salud is, I would like to conclude my review by saying that the owner, Ginny is very nice and knowledgeable and strives to teach customer’s about the importance of what goes into their guts and why it matters! This place would be great for people who are health/​diet conscious, looking to try new things, looking to learn about relation between gut and mood, trying to implement changes in the new year! You will definitely want to kick off the new year putting some good things in your gut, what better place to try than Salud! :) Cheers!

This was my first time at this place. I got to meet Nick the owner, Forrest his co-​worker, and Ginny who explained the importance of having an alkaline cleanse. I got to sample some of the products and could taste one particular underlying flavor depending upon the juice. The solar ray shot had cayenne pepper which will not only clear your nose but is indeed very hot (pepper). The staff was very warm and friendly
They do permit you to try a small «shot» of either a juice or cleanse before purchasing. They also offer coffees, smoothies in two sizes. The cleanse kit is available for purchase. I settled for a very berry smoothie made of my favorite spring fruits and enjoyed it on the way home
The place is very small but do offer free Wi Fi. This is their second store. The only downside is that being located in Shadyside it is very difficult to find a parking spot. However, if you are in the vicinity it is an easy walk off Walnut St to Copeland and you can relax and enjoy a drink that is not only nutritious but also healthy for your stomach. I definitely will return again!

I visited this juice bar in October, about a month before their official hard-​opening. However, I had a very good experience, and their juices tasted great! So, there is my review:
As I walked along Copeland Street on my way towards Starbucks, I noticed a new business across from it. Situated between Eden and Le Mardi Gras, and above Girasole Restaurant, is Salud Juicery, which I effortlessly deduced is a juice bar.
I walked up the stairs and through the doors. I immediately noticed the unique décor. There were wallpapers that were vibrantly green; tendrils of (fake?) branches that stretched from the floor to the ceiling; and furniture (including the tablet holder at the register) that looked to have been made with pure, natural wood. All of these accentuated the fresh, all-​natural, health-​oriented motif that the juice bar was going for.
As soon as I walked up to the counter, Ginny, the owner, greeted me. After a quick introduction of her business, she offered samples of several juices. I gladly accept, and she whips up at least four different juices in no time. Here are the ones I tried:
— Redhead Irish (organic spinach, kale, apple, lemon, cucumber, ginger): The taste of ginger is pronounced, but the sweetness of the apple and hint of sourness of the lemon toned it down. I liked this juice, and I felt it would be a nice drink to have if I am sick.
— Jane Good’All (orange, strawberry, peach, banana, coconut water): This was a sweet juice, but not overwhelming sweet. I could taste each fruit that was used to make it. I know some people may have qualms about coconut water, but I don’t, so I enjoyed the hint of coconut in this juice.
— The Beet Goes On (beet, carrot, apple, ginger, lemon): A juice with a dark red color, I could taste all of its. The beet, carrot, and apple add sweetness while the ginger and lemon add a touch of spice and complexity. I feel it could have used a bit more apple; nevertheless, I really liked this juice and was my favorite out of the three.
Because I really liked the The Beet Goes On, I ordered the small size of it. In about a minute or two, it was ready. I paid, gave a nice tip, and sat down at one of the wood tables in the rear seating area. This seating area had a few small tables and two sofas. It was very cozy and secluded enough to offer a nice respite from all the shopping and yoga, and also a nice quiet place to read a book or study.
After finishing my juice, I complimented Ginny and another employee, who was probably doing work in the back during my sampling, on the flavor of the juice. I told them I would definitely come back (and I meant it!).
I don’t think I will do a full juice cleanse, but if I’m ever in the mood to drink something refreshing and I’ve reached (or exceeded) my caffeine intake for the day, I will stop by for a juice, a smoothie, or a shot of wheatgrass (a.k.a. Healthy Espresso???).

I’m so excited about this place! I’m excited because I love juices, I love how they make me feel, and I love knowing exactly where the juice is coming from. No crazy ingredients added. And that’s a guarantee here.
Ginny, the owner, knows her stuff. She’s taken the time to really understand living healthy, and I appreciate that. And the best part of it all, the juices all taste phenomenal.
I did a one day juice cleanse, because I was scared to do any more days, since I had never done a cleanse before. Was the cleanse easy? No. But what made it easier was that all the juices were delicious! Even the red beet one, that looked terrifying, was delicious. Seriously, you hear about these cleanses, and how the juices are gross. At least if I’m «cleansing» aka mostly starving, I know I’m getting good things into my body.
I’m strangely enough looking forward to my next juice cleanse, and it’s all because of Salud!
