This is a very talented man! We partnered with him via Heritage Wine Cellars and we were very pleased with the final product which was a caricature which Mr. Thong drew that was used as a label for wine bottles at our wedding. If you’re looking for favor ideas; look no further!

Note 1– Local Flavor? Graphic Design? I did my best categorizing him. Note 2-The address and phone number given are of his private residence, which he lists on his website. He can be found, with his easel, drawing pictures of patrons at Station Square 6 days a week. Note 3-Check my pics to see his depiction of yours truly. My encounter with him was at the grand re-opening of Krazy Karen’s bar/restaurant in Sharpsburg Saturday night. He apparently does gigs if you call and schedule. I can’t remember what his rates are. The bar paid for the 1st ten drawings, so I got mine for nothing. The catch was that the bar kept it for display! Uh-oh. They needed some more décor. Which New York restaurant had all the Al Hirschfeld drawings of celebs? Chez Josephine? Help me out here. Anyway, Sam Thong was a lot of fun. After I got mine, Krazy Karen’s motley clientele were all lining up. It was really neat seeing how various people would turn out as «toons» as if they ain’t already ‘toons, their reactions being priceless. Mine was done in record time because I was one of the few people there that evening without a head of hair. Mr. Thong himself is as nice a man as he is an artist and genuinely seems to love what he does for a living. He’s also a CCR fan. I know this because I caught him singing along to the cover band’s rendition of «Up Around The Bend» while he was drawing away. That was pretty cool. Send him an email, give him a call, or just go see him down at Station Square if you can.
