Smoke Alternative Vape Shop and More

I’m a fairly newbie vaper, and have been slightly turned off by other vape shops around town (I won’t name names here, but generally I’ve encountered some attitude from the vaping bros who turn their noses up at you if you’re new to this). I swung into Smoke Alternative on a whim to pick up some new liquid. Amy totally hooked me up! She’s amazingly knowledgeable but without all that condescension that you sometimes find with the hardcore vaping crowd. She helped me upgrade my basic little set up with a much better tank (at a very reasonable price). She also introduced me to my new favorite liquid, Twisted Shifter, and let me sample a bunch of the other liquids that they keep in stock. She worked with me for like a solid 20 minutes, I cannot say enough about the truly excellent customer service here.

Amy is so friendly and helpful in regards to recommending vaping gears, I stopped by this store for juice and cotton. They definitely have what an average vapor, like myself, needs!

I popped in the other day after seeing the store front when looking for vape shops in Squirrel Hill. Excellent customer service, its so refreshing to actually speak to employees who know what they are talking about and passionate about vaping. No dude bros and no bullshit. I ended up buying a starter kit as I’m relatively new and love this kit. They even helped me set up the vape for first time use! Who else does that?
Based on the reviews here, its obvious others had the same experience. Long live Smoke Alternatives!!!

This is probably one of the better shops I’ve been to in pittsburgh. for a small shop they sure do have a great juice selection, drip tips, mods and more, I’ve seen rda here that you can’t really find in other local shops, and the customer service is outstanding, Amy my favorite vape logistics that works there is very personable with everyone when they come in. and she really helps you find whatever it is your looking for when you come in… I will always recommend this shop to all pittsburgh vapers… they where a unique experience. but a good one.

The owner Tracy and general manager Amy are both very personable and welcoming and are both very knowledgable about vaping and has a decent sized inventory of e juices and vaporizers that grow daily. The prices are very reasonable to. You won’t be disappointed go visit today and get vaping!

After reading the reviews here, I visited this shop to get a vape (newbie vaper here). The lady who owns (?) the store was very helpful and patiently showed me how to pick a vape and let me try many the different flavors available. I love my vape and can’t wait to try the other flavors when my bottle runs out! So glad I live a block away.

in a saturated market, products don’t matter. Customer service is king. I had a negative experience with Smoke alternatives that virtually guaranteed I would never shop there again. 12 days ago, I purchased a product from them that turned out to be defective. a $ 29 dollar battery. I came in to return it and the store owner did their best to fix it but in the end, agreed that the battery was the problem.
I just assumed that the owner would replace it but instead, the owner told me they wouldn’t do that and offered me a five dollar discount on a new one.
now at this point, you may be saying, hey man, why would they take it back, you had it for 12 days. This would be true except, I brought the battery back in a day or two after it was purchased because it wasn’t working right. The owner fixed it and it did work for a bit.
A few days ago it just stopped working completely (it would just flash lo voltage if you tried to use it) hence, the return.
Back to the present.
I didn’t say anything after being refused a replacement, I purchased another battery at $ 5 dollars off and told the owner point blank that I would never shop there again. I was polite about it but it wasn’t pretty. There is a vape shop just around the corner. I will go there from now on.
admittedly, I am new to vaping and I have a lot of concerns and questions However, the battery was defective. I even asked what the return policy was when I purchased it and they said that if something went wrong within a week or two, I could return it. At least, that was my understanding.
Obviously, That’s not something the owner remembered saying.
What sucks is, the place is lovely. It’s basically a corner store run by entrepreneurs that seem to have made a successful go at cultivating a decent reputation with a loyal customer base. In this day in age, small shops like these are becoming rarer and rarer. Small businesses must be supported or, it will just be big corporate infill instead of the owner of a small shop with enough moxy to not only survive, but thrive.
While I wish them luck, they did me wrong. It would have been so easy to make it right and keep me as a loyal customer that keeps coming back and supports their business.
I guess it’s really not that deep, I can just go elsewhere but… there was just something about this that really rubbed me the wrong way.

They have a small selection of flavors, but the woman who works the counter is so kind and helpful that I stop in regularly.
This business recently began using a rewards program called «Belly» which I’m excited about. Vaping is much less expensive than smoking, but it can still run up a bill. This program offers discounts and free products based on money spent. It also correlates with $ 5 Saturdays! You can get three small bottles of liquid for $ 15 which I will definitely be taking advantage of.
My favorite flavors here are my two most recent purchases: green apple and guava.

I’ve been to a lot of e-​cigarette shops and this is by far my favorite. A little place that is doing it right. Check it out.

Don’t let the small storefront at Smoke Alternative fool you — this place is a full-​service electronic cigarette boutique with a fantastic variety, knowledgeable and kind staff, and a welcoming environment.
One of my main hesitations with moving to an e-​cigarette was the often tacky and brash culture surrounding many shops and users. When I saw Smoke Alternative one day driving down Murray Avenue, I was attracted to its quaint and clean appearance. When I went inside, I was warmly greeted by Tracy, the owner and proprietor. She was patient with my many questions, offered lots of samples, and found the correct product for me.
In addition to the excellent customer service, Tracy mixes the nicotine to the «juice» on-​site in a very clean environment. Each order is custom, and the prices are lower than most I’ve seen.
I highly recommend Smoke Alternative for anyone wanting to experience the e-​cig culture in a new — and much preferable — way.
