I am very disappointed with the service I received at two Staples stores. The first was in Butler, PA. I bought a laptop there at the end of 2013. At the time, the associate I worked with, Corey, was great. He worked to find a laptop and fit my needs as a college student majoring in accounting. I left with a laptop that I thought was reasonably priced and felt like I did not compromise. After that, I have not had a good experience since. About a year later at the end of 2014, my charger stop working. I paid $ 80 for a replacement charger that was poor quality and could not reach from the plug beside my desk to the top of my desk because it was ridiculously short. This summer, once again, the charger stopped working. I went through the summer without a laptop and only used my tablet that I did not purchase at Staples. Because school started again, I decided to go get my laptop looked at just to be sure it was the charging port instead of the actual charger. This time I went to the Staples located in Ross Township, PA off of McKnight Road. There the tech support man plugged my computer into a universal charger and it immediately began charging. He told me that my old charger may be covered under warranty but I would have to go to the Butler store because there was no way to look it up. I also realized that this universal charger was only $ 65 a year later and it was not on sale. $ 65 is the regular price. This charger is way longer and seems to be better quality. The tech guy even was surprised that they would sell me the charger that they did instead of the cheaper, longer universal charger. Then, when he opened my computer, we noticed a slight crack. I asked how much it would be to fix and he told me it would be better just to buy a new computer. I told him I was not going to do that, since my laptop is barely two years old and the crack was just on the very top screen and is barely visible when the computer is on. However, it was effecting the touch screen. I asked if there was anyway just to disable the touch screen. He told me that it was impossible to disable the touch screen and it would be $ 599 to fix the screen or he would have to get a price quote on the parts and labor. He then said it would be easiest and cheapest to buy a generic screen from amazon for $ 50 and find someone to put the screen on and walked. I have no idea what screen to order nor do I have anyone to fix the screen and would have like to have received the price quote, even if it was days later. Then, we waited at check out for a long time to check out the new universal charger, after we had to wait at the tech center for five minutes to even get the poor help we had in the first place. Between these two experiences, Staples seems to be slow, very uneducated and money hungry. I say uneducated because when I went home, all I had to do is google«how to disable a touch screen» and I could disable the touch screen myself with the step-by-step directions found on the first site that came up. I feel that your stores have taken advantage of a poor college student who needs their laptop to get an education. If I could take back buying my original laptop, I would immediately go to another electronic store. I cannot believe the lies I have been fed by the last visit. Never again.

Horrible management. Ashley the Assistant Manager and Ken the Store Manager seem to not value customers and don’t have a clue about customer satisfaction. She seems to get her ways in talking down to people in this store from him. Both seem to be way too set in their ways and cannot think outside the box for customer input or satisfaction… they are like stale robots and may be in the business too long making them calis to the way retail operations work these days and the competitiveness of getting customers in the door. We had an issue with Ashley not price matching a very questionable item for a measly $ 39 difference on an advertised Kindle HD in the Best Buy Ad. Sorry, we are not that tech savy as you proclaimed to be and don’t recognize their is a previous generation Kindle HD and current generation Kindle HD. Common customers looking for presents for others don’t… they look the same and are of equal retail pricing. None were the new HDX model so why would we know the difference? We were even going to buy their insurance policy on the product which they make big money on. Bottom line, we felt like we got taken like a fool since we called first to make sure they had the product in stock, then drove over 10 miles to get there since all the local Staples were out of stock on the product. We were so dissappointed with this Staples store that we took time to call Ken the Store Manager the next day. He said«she did her job», said he had another customer, and then hung up on us! Wow… what an idiot. I can’t believe that Corporate Staples would approve of this situation. These select employees and how they treated us, really got us feeling a certain bad way about Staples now. They both obviously need retrained. Do yourself a favor, go to Best Buy, Office Max or another Staples

My favorite Staples store. Organized, clean and easy to get in and out of. Everyone is so nice, friendly and helpful! Things are easy to find and if you’re looking for something, someone is always happy to help you locate it. You can always find deals on different items too so keep an eye out and make sure that you sign up with them because they will send you coupons!

Five stars. Last Month(in March), i was hit by a huge tragedy: The death of my father. My world turned upside down as i planned a funeral, a viewing, an estate, tears, flowers, memories, so much all happening at once and the pain. We decided to display pictures of Dad at the viewing and I ran out to the staples to put together a poster to announce the military service time and date. It was raining that day, i showed up early in the morning. I wish i knew the name of the fabulous man who helped me at this store. He was tall, wore a cacky shirt and dark pants, he wore glasses and he may have been a manager. His name escapes me at the moment but he was amazing. He assured me it would get done, he made sure the poster got done, i saw him working on the poster himself, he even saved me money and he even asked if i liked it and offered to re do it again. For his amazing heart and beyond this planet customer service skills, i sat down a month after to write this review. I wish i knew his name, he was a tall African American gentleman who went above and beyond for me during one of the most difficult times in my life. If that is not EXCELLENCE in a world of retail and sales, i don’t know what is. I remain Forever grateful.
