Whaling Properties

I have rented two separate apartments in the Greystone Building, which is on North Street in Pittsfield, MA. It was a common occurrence for me, my boyfriend and our puppy to stop into their business offices just to visit because we grew so close to the Whaling Properties staff. They all were very easy to work with, responsive to any issues we reported (though there were very few), and offered well-​maintained and managed apartments in really great locations. I was able to walk to work, walk to yoga, walk to the YMCA, and grab coffee or dinner all in a matter of steps. I couldn’t recommend these apartments and Whaling Properties any higher.

NO. They charge you to have an a/​c installed in your home, you aren’t allowed to have a real Christmas tree, you are charged for things that are so tedious.
Not to mention the price that was advertised was NOT the price I was given, although Val did negotiate, it’s still is the principal of the matter.
Also, we had to break our lease as I got an out of state job offer, we spoke with her about it, and she told us we could only break it if we had someone to take over our lease.
So we found someone to take it over, but apparently that was not good enough for her. As soon as we told her that she was flipping out, blowing up our phones and threatening us if we moved.
She even threatened to show up at my fiances work!
That is, until I threatened to call the cops if she did.
All in all, they don’t truly care about their tenants. They may seem very caring and helpful at first, but once you’re in that apartment, things tend to change very quickly. All these people really care about is money.
Very unfortunate.

They helped me find an apartment in a time crunch when another one fell through. Val and Shauna were both attentive and friendly. They listened to my needs and worked with me to find the right place. They even helped my boyfriend when he locked himself out soon after we’ve moved in. The charming new tenant basket was also a nice touch. So glad to have the Whaling team on my side in my relocation to Pittsfield, they made it a breeze.
