Jacob gave me such a beautiful bob, that I haven’t needed a touch up in months. He does amazing work, color and cuts.

I’m surprised he’s not booked three weeks in advance. If he were booked up that far in advanced he’d be worth the wait! Can’t wait to go platinum! ;)

The rumors are true. This guy is the coolest cat in the oc, and also knows a thing or two about cutting hair. He has more certificates, credentials, and licenses than you can shake a stick at, and is one of the most people that is like an old friend after 5 minutes of getting to know you.
He cares about you and your hair, not his pride or prestige, and will do the cut you want to do, while also working with you to do what’s best for your hair and objectives.
Go to Jacob. You will not regret it

Jacob is a stud. I followed him when he left his former salon because of the incredible service he provides and the skill with which he cuts my hair. His cuts are consistent, and I always walk out looking and feeling great. He has been very accommodating with my busy schedule and would always find a time to get me in. Not only does Jacob know what he’s doing (and does it well), but he’s also easy to talk to and always has a good story to tell. I look forward to my appointment each month.

He called me. Could have at least offered some kind of discount for the 20 minutes I spent waiting for him when his email instructed me to arrive 5 – 10 minutes early. (Which I did. Arrived at 3:51).

Wow! The reviews don’t lie, I happen to stumble upon Jacob right after getting a really bad haircut in the same shopping center (we will leave this store unnamed). Jacob was busy and I asked him if he knew someone that could fix my hair cut. He went to referred me to someone but this person wasn’t there. After seeing my situation he actually squeezed me in and did a great job. Not only is he an amazing stylist but had a gray conversation with me. I will definitely be back. Thanks Jacob !

I had a great experience getting my hair done by Jacob. I wanted to change my hair color and he really took the time going over everything with me. My hair turned out exactly how I wanted it, he is amazing! He is very sweet, caring and does not rush you. I’m so happy with my color and the way he styled my hair.

Amazing! So in love with my hair! I was looking to get a little change added to my hair and Jacob did an amazing job with my hair. Mind you I have really long and thick curly hair so I do not allow just anyone to touch my hair. All I can say is that I have found my new favorite spot :) Thank you Jacob for a style well done!

I called late at night and Jacob was able to get me in the next day. Did an amazing job. Would recommend him to anyone. Very friendly and considerate with listening to you.

I have now being seeing Jacob for a year and every haircut is amazing. He is not only great at his craft but an awesome person. I can easily say that he has given me the best haircuts and shaves of my life!

Jacob is the best stylist I have ever been to, and I will definitely be going back. I went in last week to get a chin-​length bob and he listened intently to what I wanted in my haircut. He nailed it perfectly and I have gotten so many compliments because of it. In addition to his professional skills, he has a positive, humble, and resilient energy about him, and the conversation flowed easily. The holiday decorations in his studio show how thoughtful he is when it comes to creating a warm and welcoming ambience for his clients. I highly recommend him to anyone because he is everything you would ever need for the perfect hair experience — fun, hip, a person who truly cares, and has the technical skill to back it all up.

In fairness to the customers who depend on Unilocal to get a true review that isn’t masked by the need to only write about the nice and pleasant experiences, {breathes} I write the following update.
On 11÷7÷15, the morning of my hair color appointment, my contractor calls and says, «I am sending painters this morning please have your paint selection ready for my men.» What?! My daughter had a later appointment so I thought I’ll just switch with her. So I text Jacob and the following exchange took place:
Me: I’m going to have to reschedule.
Jacob: Are you serious? I already left
Me: Let me wake my daughter.
Jacob: No… I’ll go to the gym and you can have your contractor pay me for my time.
Me: I’ll pay you for your time
Although there is no contract saying such a payment is required, I paid him what he asked me to pay him which was more than half of what would have been my bill. The only reason I paid him was because I didn’t want him to involve my kids who had an appointment with him later that morning. He still involved them.
So, he refused to see my daughter, decided to go to the gym instead and he had no qualms about asking me pay for his gym time. Not the classiest approach to running a business.
I want to mention that Jacob was informed that I was going to be writing this update. His response was, «thank you for the payment.».

Jacob is AMAZING! I found him while doing a frantic last-​minute search for my unexpected wedding day. He was able to squeeze me in and did an awesome job.
2 weeks later I made an appointment to cut my hair. Jacob did exactly what I asked for. He trimmed my nasty ends and cut my layers to the exact length I wanted. He paid attention to me when I told him my hair is naturally curly and asked him not to cut my bangs too short. Along with his excellent skills, sitting in his chair is like catching up with an old friend. He’s so chill and funny, I was instantly at ease and comfortable with him. I would totally recommended Jacob to anyone! Heads up though, he told me he is now by referral only!
The photo is my hair with some Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum in it to weigh down my curls. my cut is great– I can wear is my natural super curly, loose waves like shown, or straight and it looks good all 3 ways! Thanks Jacob!

I got referred to Jacob by my mother in law and I am super impatient and couldn’t wait to see my regular gal so Jacob got me in right away. I absolutely love my hair my cut and color were spot on to how I explained what I wanted. He is definitely a hidden gem here in Orange County. He genuinely loves what he does and takes pride in his work. Thank you again Jacob!

Another great accomplishment by Jacob. THIS time, I brought my husband, who has been OCD about putting together a Renaissance look (he’s really into historical reenactment). Jacod did a fantastic job with husband’s hair, it can be worn in historical context or contemporary. Hubster will not let me post pix, so I’ll show you the updated version Jacob did of my ‘do. Asymmetrical, but not Miley Cyrus short, just how I asked for it. We’ve decided to forgo color while my hair heals from it’s last dye (and return it to the natural). Happy as a frikkin’ clam. (This pic is taken a few days after the cut. It’s self styled and I don’t shampoo everyday, so what you see is what you get.) PS I’m not sure why Unilocal isn’t letting me add another photo, but c’est la vie. You’ll just hafta check my profile pic, which I updated. :P

I had the most wonderful experience getting my haircut from jacob! He did such an amazing job maintaining a good length while cutting off the dead ends. He also used a hair treatment on my crazy unmanageable hair that tamed the s*** out of it. I can’t stop touching it. Obsessedddddd. Thanks jacob!

Let me start off by saying, thank you Jacob. I love my hair so much it feels so new and amazing and it looks so pretty and fresh. It literally put a pep in my step. I was down in the dumps because I didn’t know what to do with my frizzy multi shade hair, and then I found Jacob James on Unilocal and it was all over from there. I texted Jacob last minute when I couldn’t get into my regular hairdresser. Luckily he had an opening and was able to take me that same day. He spent way more time than my old hairdresser in ensuring all of my gray roots were covered. It’s the best root touch up I’ve ever had and Jacob even put leave in conditioner in my hair that has left my hair softer and silkier than it has ever been. My husband can’t stop touching it, and isn’t that the point after all ;) from now on I’m only going to see Jacob. He’s both sweet and a master at what he does!

I’ve come in to have my hair cut and colored and had the Brazilian Blowout also. I waited to write a review because in my experience I’ve never found a hairstylist that has been consistent. But Jacob hasn’t let me down yet! I have a ton of really long hair and he’s never pressured me to cut it or acted like it was too much work. I love Jacob and love how my hair looks!
