My husband and I ate here a few months ago, and the food was great. They have a big patio and we thought we could stop another time when we had our dogs and eat on the patio. So we did just that, but we were turned away because they do not allow dogs in their patio area. Kinda ironic that a restaurant named after a dog, is NOT dog friendly. Oh well, we drove a bit more up HWY50 to Crystal Basin Bistro where dogs are welcomed.

Meat is a little bland. The chicken sandwich is good as well as the garlic fries! Very good service. Food is also inconsistently sauced such as the chicken sandwich which was not spicy but the hot sauce was very pungent. Also needs more variety on menu. Also need to add more cheese options and label soda options.

Awesome service and very cool bar and restaurant! Super small menu. When a restaurant has a very condensed menu, everything on the menu should be impeccable. We ordered the tri-tip wrapped asparagus appetizer, which was good, but needed more balsamic reduction. The burgers we ordered were $ 18 and lacked in the flavor department. You would think with caramelized onions and Cherrywood smoked bacon that it would be amazing. Not so much. Their 100%grass-fed beef had no seasoning. The lettuce was wilted. The fries were legit! Wish I could rate higher because, seriously, the place is so cool! They need to concentrate more on the flavor profile or drop the price tremendously!

This fog city girl was about to burst into flames under that hot Gold Country sun! So it was a relief to find this place and take a break. The patio of the Jack Russell is a cute little hidden gem. Situated next to a babbling brook, it was a welcome place to cool off under some shady trees. All the beers and ciders are brewed in house. I ordered the blackberry cider, and it was delicious. Not too sweet, and very refreshing. The menu had a lot of tempting dishes, but it was too hot to eat. I’d love to come back on my next visit to Placerville.

This review is for the food… The menu was very small but I’m happy to see grass fed beef and organic salads and not much difference in price from any other place on Main Street. I ordered my burger well done which was a huge mistake it came out so hard and burnt it was barely edible but I can’t really take off points for that bc I guess I shouldn’t order red meat well done the flavor was lacking in the burger and the fries were too salty imo my husband really liked them though. the atmosphere is nice and kid friendly even though it is a brewery(early afternoon, outside).my husband had the blueberry ale and said it was good, if you are looking for beer and an appetizer and a fun atmosphere I think you will be very happy if you are looking for an amazing meal this is probably not the place

Very limited choices. No milk or juice for the kids. Food was average. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again…

There is no doubt my dining experience here was very pleasant. A great pit stop, if I may say, we were coming down from Lake Tahoe and it was Game 2 between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. We really didn’t want to miss the game so we thought, might as well stop over and have a quick bite and catch the game. This is your Classic American restaurant, they serve beer and locally grown wine. Our server Diane is the most friendly and gave attentive service! Atmosphere is very open and casual, good for the family and sports fans alike. They have high definition big screen TV mounted on the wall tuned in to sports channels . We did not order anything main but had a very delicious garlic french fries and tri-tip wrapped asparagus. I had a glass of Syrah and I admit, for $ 7 it was great. I almost took home a bottle. Maybe it was because our server was just very sweet. She gave me and Bob our own dipping sauce for our fries. Smiled a lot and cheerful. Bathroom is clean too. Heh, that means a lot to me and ehhh, my private life. So where art thou 5th star? They can do better with portions/serving size. Oh wait, did they mean Jack Russel terrier?

Just ate at this location last night and I had the Ruben sandwich which was fantastic. It was very good and the ambiance was wonderful with a lighted outdoor patio area which is up against the creek so that while we were eating you can hear the water. Because this is a new business it is obvious that they have a little work to do with service and the indoor venue is a little sterile and could use some help in giving it a more inviting feel! By the way, one of my friends ordered the fish-n-chips and it looked amazing. Give this a little time and I think they will catch their rhythm.

Good beer and good pub food. Had a great time with some friends. Came on Sunday around 3:30. Got seated right away. Place was busy and loud. Just what you want in a brew pub. Server was friendly and nice and quick with our beers and food. Picked up a growler while I was there. Will definitely be back soon to fill that up. Btw, beer on nitro is pretty awesome…

Great local Brewery! They have a large list of drinks and a delicious menus. Lucky they keep the food menu small so you know it’s not pre-made and frozen food. The stake salad and garlic fries are delicious. With home made ranch. Very happy.

They really re-worked the interior — it looks great! Their beer selection is good, and the beers also taste good(not always the case with breweries). Pints range from $ 5 – 7, which is decent and about average. The place does get busy, so if you plan on coming at prime time, you might expect a wait. The patio was not open yet when we went, so this might help during the summer. Service was prompt and friendly. No issues there. Food menu is limited currently. We just got fries to snack on. The fries were good, but not $ 6 for a small basket good. I think their food prices are a little high for what they are offering, with the population they are serving, however, their rent is probably high on Main St, and I am sure they will be popular with the Tahoe crowd either way. I will likely be here for beers, but probably not for dinner. There are better options within the same price point on Main St.

We’re local, looking for true pub experience. There was so much potential here, and instead we got catered food flavor; and a LOUD, impersonal experience. Went on Sat. May 21, 2016. It almost felt like a sterile hospital inside. Couple that with the mediocre food, eh… I’ve had a better experience at Marshal Hospital. Food: Well, while the fish and chips were good, the fish was not completely cooked. So lot’s of soggy batter under the lightly crisp outer shell. The fries were good, but it’s hard to make garlic fries not taste good. The two different kinds of hamburger looked good but were without flavor, and the Awesome sauce was a little less than awesome. And excuse me, but $ 14 and $ 16 for a hamburger and fries is simply RIDICULOUS!!! Noise: Not a place conducive to having a conversation with your table mates, without yelling. The more people that came in, the louder it got. Seriously, they need to address this, everyone around us was complaining. Impersonal experience: I’m not a fan of big screen TV’s being in a restaurant. I go out to talk with friends and the dining/beer drinking experience. If I wanted to go to a sports bar to watch TV, I would… or I’ll stay home. As far as this place is concerned, I’ll stay home instead of going here. They need really awesome pub food, with lots of salty flavor, that encourages you to stick around and drink some more beer… since after all, that’s what they are – a brewery. The waitress was very nice, visually the décor has potential, but there’s nothing to look at and converse about when sitting at a table(which you can’t do anyways, it’s too loud). Would I recommend this place. No. Will I go again? No. Will I encourage out of town people to go? No. Something just doesn’t feel right, the menu, the drinks, and the décor didn’t mesh together right. In the end, it was simply a bla experience and too expensive to go back.

This is a still new brewery that opened up this Spring 2016, and the vibe here is good. We received very good service. The beer selection is diverse, and there is literally too much to choose from, including fruit infused beer. They also have Mead, Nitro beers, and a small selection of wines from Sierra Vista, Bumgarner, and Boeger(all local, yea!). Food is quite good, very pub oriented fare. We tried the ginger basted wings, and they were very different, with a spicy sauce and lots of scallions and a kale base. It was yummy. It will be nice to see them open the patio or provide some music. A far cry from Carrow’s. Bye Bye chain store food… hello long established Camino micro-brew pub. Can’t wait to try more…

First timer. Had vanilla stout. Not bad. Fish and chips was the waitress’ recommendation. A good one. This was the best fish and chips I’d ever had! Large cuts of fresh fish in a light batter with the perfect flavor. Great tartar sauce. Fries not great but good. Excellent interior design– upper end brewery with old wood tables. Quick service.

My friend and I were excited to try out this new brewery after a day of rafting. On the way in we noticed there were two«Closed» signs posted but as the front doors were open we walked through and had a seat at the bar. Apparently they were trying to detour people because as soon as we sat down they told us the kitchen was breaking down slowly throughout the day and was now closed. This was after handing us a food menu as soon as we sat down. Luckily we had not ordered a beer yet and hightailed it out of there. Note to owner: figure out your restaurant or do a soft opening before opening to the public because once we have a bad experience, we will likely not return. On a positive, good job for having a gluten-free bun option. We hope you work out the kinks and we might try you again some day. We thought your sign looked outdated and did not reflect the inside of the restaurant which was actually pretty hip.

Fish and chips rock! Love the from scratch tarter sauce! Doesn’t have a greasy flavor or feel to the fish. Great crunch!! Yummy!

This is just what downtown P’ville needed! The interior was totally gutted from when it was Carrows, and rebuilt from the ground up, it looks awesome! — I understand a lot of the wood came from the old mill in Camino, I love the way it all came together. The beers are terrific, I really enjoyed the Big Truck Imperial Stout — the coffee flavor was intense made for a delightful pour. The Pale Ale is very refreshing and not too hoppy. Can’t wait for the warmer weather so we can sit outside on the patio and enjoy more of those nice cold beers.

No food yet, as of 4÷25÷16 last time I was there Went back in today 4⁄26 they had a very few selected item on the menu. tried couple new flavors and hard cinders they got. I’ll give em a month or so to get their kitchen up & running. Pros: Brand new pub resturant in downtown Placerville Great atmosphere vibe Plenty of handcrafted beer, hand crafted cider & wines Cons: Not too many except Not enough food They have a mobile app too, which is useless as walking into the pub and looking at the beers they offer, without drinking any. It would’ve been nice to order via the app. Perhaps soon

I guess this place just opened recently so they don’t have food yet but they have a boatload of beers of every style on their menu. The place is not much to look at on the outside, but the inside has been completely remodeled and is really nice. So I had a few beers and both were excellent and the service was quick and friendly. The place is a bit loud because of all the hard surfaces, but it wasn’t bad. I’m looking forward to coming back when they start offering food.
