I work in Placervile and had my Honda repaired at Toy Tech. I am so impressed with the diagnosis and repair of my vehicle. Although my experience was about a year ago, I had to stop and right a review now that I have a Unilocal account. As I was only 20 at the time, this was my first road trip by myself. So before I left to Carson City from the Sacramento area I had my car checked out. They replaced my wires and then said my car was good to go. As I got into Placerville my car started to misfire. I was pointed in the direction of Toy Tech. They took my car in right away and found that one of the wires (that I just had replaced) wasn’t secured properly and was rubbing on my camshaft gear (?). He even took me back and showed me several things on my car that weren’t done correctly so I could see with my own eyes. As I could only afford aftermarket wires, he ordered them for me and they were there within 30 mins and they fixed me all up (the right way). The owner was such a nice, stand-​up guy and made me feel like I was in great hands. He also typed up a letter stating all the issues my car had so I could take it back to the shop that screwed me over. I was so scared I was gonna be stranded in Placerville but Toy Tech saved the day and sent me on my way. The shop just had a great vibe. I will never forget the great experience I had and if only I lived closer, I would definitely still be taking my car here. Thank you Toy Tech! (:

So I had an air head car move while I was out of town! I had to have my car towed here and they totally surpassed my expectations! Friendly and professional! They didn’t charge me for my dippy move! We need you guys to open another store in San Diego! Thank you!!!

We have had David work on all of our cars. He is the most honest and knowledgeable mechanic we’ve ever met! Also, his prices are super reasonable!!! Let him take a look before you go anywhere else!

The worse of my fears were realized when i needed a new water pump AND had to be back in santa monica the next day– David and one mechanic, Matt, put in a lot of work for me to get back on the road in time.
David also told me the total cost of repair would be LESS than the estimate. When does THAT ever happen?!

Very nice people and good service. Just happened to be in the area and needed to get an urgent engine oil service. Found this place on Unilocal and got it done in 5 minutes with very reasonable price. The guy check the oil level and fill the oil for us without labor cost. Thank you!

This place is awesome. Such great service and very helpful. I’m from Southern California and would take my truck back up to this shop because service like this is rare. I needed my timing belt, water pump, and a couple other things done before I drove back down south and needed the car done by Friday and he stayed till almost 9 at night working on my truck so it would be done in time for me to leave. Great prices and great work!

As a serious DIY mechanic, I am VERY particular about where I bring my vehicle for the maintenance/​repairs I am am not willing or able to perform myself. New to the area and looking for an alternative to the dealer (2013 Kia SUV), I called around a lot. Decided on Toy Tech and they were friendly, capable and reasonably priced. My go-​to place from now on.

They were recommended to me by someone else who had gone there and was very happy with their work. I took my Subaru to see if they could get the gas mileage back up to 27mpg. I changed my timing belt and have had terrible mpg since then. It was averaging 18 – 19 mpg and David was able to help me and got it up to 24 mpg as of now. He said to drive it a few days and see how it does. Research online says it takes a couple hundred miles to reset the electronics in the car. Nice guy and great service. I will definitely go back in the future for any other issues I have.

The owner David has helped me for years with my Rav4, as well as my husband’s truck. He’s reliable, trustworthy, HONEST, and respectful. As a woman, I’ve been called «honey» and «sweetheart» and spoken down to by more mechanics than I can remember. If you’ve dealt with this, you know how frustrating and disrespectful it is. David treats me with respect, gives me options on how to correct the issues, and gives accurate and competitive estimates. He takes his time to listen.
I highly recommend David and his new shop The Toy Tech to absolutely anyone and everyone.
