Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaning

I called Breathe Easy solely based off of the great reviews, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We have a small second floor condo, so we weren’t sure if anyone had portable devices. I called and spoke with Lora, and she said they did.
When Doug got here, he was so funny and kind. He got to work right away, and our carpet looks amazing. You will not be let down by Doug. A+++ experience!

After some disastrous experiences with carpet cleaners… or rather carpet NON-​cleaners, it was wonderful to have found a quality carpet cleaning business. After researching online, I decided to give Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaning a try. My old carpeting looks amazing — better than it’s looked in 10 years. Really. Not only is it cleaner, it feels fluffier than it’s felt in a long time. And it has just completely dried. Read below if you want the long version!
Our carpets are about 28 years old, and have been through children growing, pets, and a husband who does a lot of outside projects. We have one path from the back door to our bathroom. And light carpeting. You get the picture. We have a grey path… In fact, I planned to replace carpeting last January, but we didn’t. Because of an upcoming event, I wanted to have the carpets cleaned, fairly close to the event so the «path» would be a little less noticeable in it’s first «after cleaning» state. A little less than a year ago, we had SS «clean» our carpets, and they really did not look much better afterwards. I wasn’t surprised since our carpets are old and worn. I didn’t have high expectations, just wanted cleaner carpeting, even it it didn’t look too much cleaner. We had had SS before and the quality of their cleaning was so inconsistent, I tried a chemical based group, and went back to SS. But I never was happy once our carpeting began to age.
Enter Doug with «Breathe Easy.» He does not use soap, yet as he was cleaning the carpets, he was drawing up a load of suds… from the last time, and probably the time before that. He worked through the house, cleaned up, collected the fee I was quoted on the phone, and left. No hard sell to buy a package. No hassling to do pre-​treating or scotch guarding or any additional services.
But most importantly, I love the way my worn old carpeting looks. It is clean. It feels fluffy. I will still be replacing it, but until I do, and especially after I do, I will be using Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaners.

Doug did an amazing job making our 12 year old carpeting look new again, despite our pets attempts to ruin it. He put in a lot of extra effort which was appreciated as we were putting our house on the market the next day. Highly recommended! Very reasonable, great service!

I just had my carpets cleaned and they look and feel fantastic! The carpets had terrible pet stains that had been sitting there for who knows how long. Not only did the discoloration come out, so did the smell. Doug is incredibly thorough, honest, and genuine. The price was fair and the work/​results exceptional. It had been a few years since our last carpet cleaning, and we of course called Breathe Easy again because we were very satisfied the last time. I was once again very happy with the results. We really need new carpet, but due to an aging dog that occasionally has accidents we don’t want to do that quite yet. Our carpets look amazing, it was very reasonably priced and Doug is a complete professional. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

I just had my carpets cleaned by Doug for the first time and I will defintiely be a returning customer. First, Doug is a very friendly and personable. He showed up on time and did a walk through of the rooms I wanted cleaned. I couldn’t remember exactly how many rooms I initially requested to be cleaned and he said just show him the rooms I wanted, it was no big deal.
The carpets turned out great! I even had a large sofa cleaned since I have two large dogs who lay there all the time. I can’t believe the difference it makes! My house smells so much better!

Doug did an amazing job on our carpets today! In the past we’ve cleaned the carpets ourselves but with a little one starting to crawl I wanted a professional to come out to do the job. The carpet looks nicer than when we initially moved in! Doug even went back and redid a spot when my husband brought in tar after coming into the house. He was quick and efficient with his work and we will definitely be using him again. Thank you Doug!

Sorry for the delay in this review! Doug cleaned our carpets when we first moved in a few months ago into a home that had been empty for about a year and a half. He came on time, and was very friendly. I’m so glad we hired him, he figured out that the previous owners were smokers and had animals (AH!) The dirt and «yuckies» that he got out of our carpets after he cleaned them were disgusting and I’m so glad they are gone! Thanks Doug! Our carpets feel and look good!

Doug was at our house in Naperville today. Very pleasant, and friendly to both our kids and our dogs.
Doug had a flat tire this morning and was running a little late, but was incredibly responsible – he called us as soon as he knew he was running late, gave us a new time frame, and showed up right on that revised schedule.
Very honest guy – asked us before trying to clean some very soiled dining room seat cushions. The seat cushions also turned out much better than we expected, so his cleaning services were quite effective. Our carpets also look great!
Extremely hard working as well – took only a very short lunch break and was back at the job!
Highly recommended – we’ve used a lot of other carpet cleaning services over the years, but from now on we’re only going to use Doug.

I concur with the short, positive reviews listed here, but if you want a little more background, read on…
I initially considered the «do-​it-​yourself» route by renting a Rug Doctor machine (and all that comes with that… buying the carpet cleaner shampoo, pretreatment chemicals, extra-​charges, the time to do the work, transport equipment, etc.), and even asked friends for their feedback on this process. Bottom-​line, I didn’t have to time nor the complete confidence of getting professional results by doing it myself.
After careful on-​line research to check on companies and related reviews, I decided on Breathe Easy which turned out to be the best choice.
Doug is the Owner of this family-​run business and along with his wife, Laura (via initial phone call), they made this experience very pleasant. Yes, their website has much info and pic’s, but it was the honest, sincere approach of being able to ask several questions upfront without being rushed that had me commit to an appointment, which was done one week in advance.
Other reviews have echoed the same, and the price point in my case was VERY reasonable for cleaning 4 std-​size rooms and a staircase; the price was even lower than some of those alleged «special coupons» you receive in the mail. A little extra-​effort on some misc. areas came at no-​extra charge! per Doug, who performed the actual cleaning.
The process took 2 hours that started @ 9 AM and carpeting was dry by that early evening (had the A/​C on). It helps tremendously to have your items out of the way, including tieing-​up low, hanging draperies. I did have three large units which I could not move (china cabinet, piano, office desk) which was no issue as the carpeting around these areas was done carefully. Yes, there are various carpet types to consider so feel free to inquire ahead of time. My home has the usual beige, builder-​installed carpet grade, which looked new again after 9 years, including two kids and two dogs!
During the actual cleaning, I was able to follow Doug around and ask questions as needed. FYI, he will need a sink to fill-​up his machine (he uses a 5 gal bucket he brings) and has a wand tool when cleaning the hard-​to-​reach areas and stairways. Refused water will be flushed down your toilet. The noise-​level was like that of a large, shop vacuum-​cleaner. No issues for me.
Modestly, we keep our home clean and recognized we still needed to get the carpet cleaned sooner. So, in closing, I confidently recommend Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaning and don’t hesitate to contact them. I recommend highly the value and experience they provided!

Breathe Easy came to my rescue this weekend! My dog got sprayed by a skunk and rubbed it all over our living room rug and furniture. The smell was over-​powering. Doug squeezed me in and did a great job cleaning our rug and upholstery. He went above and beyond by helping me get rid of the smell beyond just my carpets and upholstery. He also came right back in and cleaned another piece of furniture for me after he was packed up. Great work, I would definitely hire Breathe Easy again.

We had Doug out last week to clean all of the carpeting in our home, as well as a couch and chaise lounge. From the start of the process to the end, everything was great and smooth.
Scheduling with Doug’s wife was easy and all of my questions were answered thoroughly and pricing was quoted ahead of time. I was assured there would be no change in the price quoted and there would be no upselling.
Doug arrived when he said he would and after looking at the carpets and greeting our pup, he got right to work.
Our pup has confused the bedroom carpeting with a potty at times, and despite our efforts to clean the carpeting with sprays, there were still some stains that we couldn’t get out. There were also some strange faded grey stains in one of the bedrooms that wouldn’t come out with our efforts. Well, Doug got the carpets looking BRAND-​NEW and beautiful again. There are no longer any stains or spots and the carpeting looks great!
Doug is knowledgeable about what he does and extremely diligent. He tried a few different methods of stain removal until the toughest spots came out. He kept the wood floors where he was working covered, clean and safe from water. He was very polite and friendly throughout the whole process. He never tried to upsell anything or pressure me to buy additional services.
When it’s time to clean our carpets or upholstery again, I have no doubt that I will be calling Breathe Easy. GREAT customer service and really hardworking guy!

This review is long overdue!
I purchased a foreclosure that sat empty for about 2 years. The carpet in the basement was soooo musty and dirty. Doug was able to get the smell out and it looked darn near brand new! This was two years ago and the carpet still looks and smells great!
Doug is completely professional and doesn’t try to hustle you into buying services you don’t need. His prices are really reasonable as well.
No need to shop around, call Doug today!

AWESOME job by Doug. He came in and quickly accessed what needed to be done. I got more than what I asked for on the phone and great recommendations on what i could do on my own to maintain the carpet and wood flooring i have. Great guy to work with. i will probably have him back every 6 months.

Highly recommend Breathe Easy Carpet Cleaning! Doug was fantastic to work with. We closed on our home Friday morning and Doug was scheduled to come out between 1 – 2. He called me around 1230 and let me know exactly what time he would be there, which is extremely helpful during a move. Upon arrival he was respectful and thorough.
We had some dirt between the tiles in our garage entrance and Doug gave us a gallon of cleaner to help break up the dirt at no charge.
Overall a great experience and our carpets look great!

Doug was great! Great service and hardworking guy. Not to mention my carpet and couch look like new. He did a fab job with a pet stain I wasn’t able to remove from my couch. Doug’s prices were reasonable and I can really appreciate that. If I only knew about him sooner is my only issue.

If only more people were as honest and hard-​working as Doug! I had just moved into a new townhome, and the carpets in several rooms needed a refresh. My wife found Breathe Easy on Unilocal,and the reviews were very impressive. I really liked how he used green cleaning products and how he responded to every single review, so I had to give these guys a shot.
Right from the get-​go, Doug and his wife (who took the quote inquiry) were very pleasant and personable. On the day of the appointment, Doug called and let me know that he hit a traffic jam. No worries since he had the professionalism to call ahead on his arrival status. Once he arrived, he explained certain aspects of the job like what carpet type we had and some other tips. Then he got right to work, and the carpets were great! In the end, we chilled out on my front porch and chatted up a bit about his background and the business itself. He is a strong and good-​hearted man, and I wish him even more success.
That reminds me, I need my condo’s bedroom carpet cleaned too before I put it on the market. Doug is my go to guy!!!
