Established in 1989.

Established in 1989 Community Christian Church is a non-​denominational church that began in 1989 as the dream of five friends from college who wanted to create a place that would help people find their way back to God. The first services were held at Naperville Central High School and later at Naperville North High School in Naperville, IL until a permanent facility was built in 2001. In 1997, Community became a pioneer in the multi-​site church movement by starting a second location in Romeoville. Since then Community has added more locations in the Chicagoland area including Shorewood IL and has expanded its influence nation wide through the creation of the NewThing Network. (www​.newthing​.org) NewThing’s mission is to create reproducing networks of churches who are relentlessly dedicated to helping people find their way back to God.
