Jerry’s Handyman Service

I needed a corner of my roof sealed. I found Jerry on Unilocal and called him. I explained my problem and asked if he could come out at 6:30pm that night. He said sure. He came right on time, I explained the problem and he went and sealed it up within 20 minutes. I appreciate his quick help and flexible hours.

I placed a service call on Monday and within 2 hours Jerry and Tim show up immediately! I had a leaky drain in the bathroom that dripped within the cabinet and helped discover other improvements while pulling hair out of clogged drain. He even provided suggestions for house tips for HVAC and checked my foundation and sump pump and discovered things that needed improvement overtime. Jerry makes for a great inspector and is super fast and provides awesome same day service!!! Highly recommended!!!

Jerry was awesome. I needed a 6 panel door installed in a townhome that I rent. He came out same day, measured, went to Home Depot to purchase the door and handle, came back and installed it. Payment was a breeze through Chase Quickpay (anyone can use this service with a mobile # or an email address). I would absolutely call Jerry again for my next project!

Last night! Some high winds blew off a an aluminum facia cover from the top peak of the top gable of our house. Called Jerry, who was out within an hour. 10 minutes later, the facia cover was nailed back in place… which is great, because I’m afraid of heights! Prompt and courteous, Jerry will be the first guy we call for any difficult repairs.

Called several people to take a look at our roof with some lifted shingles and roof flashing for some vents. Jerry was the only one to call back. Not only did he come by right away, but he was professional and courteous! He gave us a fair price and pointed out some suspicious caulking on one of the flashings. He was even kind enough to take a look at our humidifier to explain why it wasn’t working. He also gave some maintenance suggestions for our furnace. Great guy and great work. Would recommend him!

We needed an upstairs window repaired at our home in Oswego. The aluminum frame had cracked at one corner, and the window wasn’t sealing properly, letting cold air inside. Called Jerry on a Monday; he arrived in less than an hour. After taking a look, he told us that he couldn’t fix the frame, but he could straighten the window and lock it up so that it would be sealed. Saved us a ton of dough compared with having a new, custom window made. Would call him again in a heartbeat for any other repairs we might need.

Called Jerry, he was at the house within an hour. Agreed upon a price for work to be done, he came and did the work very professionally. Called him again to do more work, again very polite and professional he did the work in sufficient time and cleaned up the mess! Have already talked to him about more work for him. If you need a handyman, then Jerry is the one to call he is completely fair in price. Trust me when I tell you I had other quotes and Jerry can’t be beat! Thank you Jerry for the great work you have done.

I decided to call Jerry after reading the great reviews on Unilocal.The reviews were spot on. I hired Jerry to hang a light fixture in my dining room. He arrived early and went straight to work. He did a great job and without any mess to clean up afterward. I plan to hire Jerry in the future and highly recommend him.

After getting a high quote from another carpenter to replace my entry door, I took to Unilocal to find another person. I called Jerry on a Saturday morning and left a message. Within 30 minutes, he called back. I gave him a little information over the phone on what needed to be done and he gave me a quote. His price was much lower than the quote I received elsewhere. I told him great, when can we get it scheduled to be done. He originally asked about Monday (remember, this call took place on Saturday morning) but both my wife and I would be at work. Then he offered to come that day and said he could be there in an hour. Went out of his way to come and take care of my project… not just the same day… but arrived an hour later.
When he arrived, he noticed an issue with our door. Our existing front door has a window above it and it was installed as one whole unit. The problem was, the new one we had to be put in did not have a window above it. It was just the door. Jerry showed me how the window sits on top of the door jamb. He was uncertain if he would be able to replace the door because of this. And at that point, if he would have said he couldn’t do it, I wouldn’t have blamed him one bit. But he said, I think I can still do it and keep the window in place. So he got right to work. When we were given the original quote to replace the door from someone else, they said it would take over a half a day to a full day to replace it. Jerry was finished with the whole project in just a shade over 2 hours.
The work on the door was exceptional! Next time we need a repair made, we’ll be calling Jerry!

Jerry came out to do a small job he’d agreed to in May. We moved my mom in and needed to have the handrails replaced in our split level home for her. He arrived exactly on time, completed the job in about a half hour and was on his way. Definitely a pro and definitely someone I’d recommend. Thank you, Jerry!

I’m not sure if the guy who came to our house was Jerry himself, but whoever it was did a great job! He came to fix a timer switch for our outdoor lights that my husband had unsuccessfully tried to install the day before. I called him in the morning, and he was able to come out the same day! He even went to Menards and bought a new switch when he discovered that the switch we had was fried. He fixed the switch quickly, and was very friendly. He even gave me a few tips for fixing some other issues I had in the house. His attention to detail was impressive. I would definitely call him again for electrical or heating/​cooling issues.

I called Jerry to look at my roof and side. He was nice enough to come right away and fixed every shingle and side that was popping out. He even asked me if I see any more shingles popping out, which he couldn’t see.
I highly recommend Jerry for his quality of work and professional attitude.

After some recent storms in the Plainfield area I noticed that my roof was missing a few shingles. I found Jerry via Unilocal and decided to give him a call since he had such great reviews. After leaving him a voicemail I was amazed that he called me back within 2 minutes and better yet he said that he could be out to my house within an hour! Once Jerry arrived he was straight to work (on my roof before I even knew he was there!). After replacing the missing shingles Jerry went out of his way to inspect the rest of my roof and added a few nails here and there.
After he was finished with the roof he took the time to look at a few other project my wife and I were considering. Recently we noticed that our electrical box on the side of our house had actually detached from the house! While this wasn’t in Jerry’s normal scope of work he took pictures of it and sent them to an licensed electrician that he recommend to take a look.
Overall I was extremely satisfied with Jerry. He was timely, professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly honest with me. I would have to disagree with Kathleen’s post that requested Jerry hire help so he can take on more jobs. I feel assured that anytime I call Jerry’s Handyman service I actually get JERRY!

I was excited to find a handyman with such great reviews. Unfortunately he’s too busy to take on new business right now, but at least was courteous and professional enough to call me himself to tell me, so my search continues. I highly suggest he adds a team member, as it is VERY difficult to find reliable and skilled workers, and I have 6 properties that generate a healthy amount of business.

We needed a chandelier put up in our foyer and found Jerry’s info online. He came out on a Sunday morning and he was fast, meticulous and charged us way less than some other handyman had quoted. We will definitely use his services again.

I was in a real bind. I had already spent a bunch of money with the most insane, everything that could go wrong did, install of a new kitchen sink and disposal. Then Jerry came. I now have a fully working kitchen sink and leak free disposal!!! He also did a minor bathroom fix for me, took him 5 extra minutes, but worth a lot to me. I can say from past experience there are a lot of people out there not qualified to do their jobs. However Jerry is the real deal, knowledgeable and got the job done right the first time. I would give him 6 stars if I could.

Jerry installed a Hague water system for us and did an excellent job. He scheduled our service quickly, was on time, and completed the installation quickly and professionally. He answered all of our questions about the new system. While at our house, he also noticed that we were having issues with our sump pump and spent time with my husband to give him free tips on how to fix. We were so grateful (especially given that we lived in a flood zone), and highly recommend Jerry’s services!
