Tee Time Lawn Care

Countless problems, poor customer service, and impossible to get ahold of anybody at the company. Problems 1) Insect problem in tree, they came and sprayed a few times, we saw no change. We asked specialist to come to house and talk in person. He states their spray will not fix the problem and advises us to use another product from another company. We agree and stop the tree spray. Next week, guess what? Bill for a tree spray again. After their own «specialist» said the spray would do nothing! 2) Attempt to call to discuss the situation yields me leaving an urgent voicemail. No call back, 2^nd voicemail days later, no call back. Finally, I sit and wait 10 – 15 minutes with hold music. Ask to speak to GM/​Owner, get response they don’t come into the office. Problem after Problem…

i love the fact that we did not have to sign a contract. they call before coming out.

Their technicians & sales people truly care about the quality of your lawn. They’re good people to work with.

We built our first home and needed our new sod well taking care of. Tee time came recommended by a few of our neighbors, and as they started servicing our yard, we knew we had made the right choice! Justin was the crew manager on our account, and was available WHENEVER we needed him for questions on how to care for their for our lawn. He gave us reasonable recommendations that fit into our budget. Since we knew nothing about lawn care, they took the time to educate us and even came out on short notice, when we needed some maintenance before a party.
Justin and his team were awesome and we will use them again next year!!!

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY! Family run business? If so it is a very dysfunctional one! We have used their service for years — for our Subdivision — Cinnamon Creek — Naperville, we used them on our rental properties and I referred them to friends and neighbors — I instructed them several times however to NOT treat our lawn — (they continued to do so), we had a new concrete driveway put in this summer, I came home to find black tiny pellets all over it — I saw the Tee Time truck at my neighbors — knew it was fertilizer, was upset that they not only trespassed and put down Milorganic fertilizer on our lawn but were so lazy that they left it all over the driveway — when my husband came home he was justifiably upset and began to hose it off. He called me and my daughter outside to show us what was happening to our driveway due to a reaction of the fertilizer, water and the concrete — there were black pits all over, you could literally touch the concrete where the fertilizer was and it would leave behind a pit. I called Tee Time immediately, I sent over photos and a video of it occurring — they sent Justin out to see what was going on — he agreed that it was a direct result of their product/​negligence and told me that they would take care of it… (Justin is great btw– he is just at the mercy of the higher ups). Dan told us that this was too large of a dollar amount of damage and that he would send this in to their insurance carrier Auto-​Owners Insurance out of Elgin– they sent a representative who spent about 10 minutes here and about two weeks later we received a letter from the: «Field Claim Representative» who never came here denying the liability as it seemed «unlikely to have occurred based on an Engineers consultation». UNREAL! Scott (whom no one from Tee Time seems to know when you call there — I think it is the owner using an alias honestly) agrees that this is their fault and he cannot understand why the insurance would deny the claim and will call them and get back to us! (I have called him, he says he left a message for Chad at Auto-​Owners and is waiting for a call back.) FYI — My husband called Chad the day after we received his letter and asked how they could simply deny a claim without doing a Petrographic Examination; he told my husband «because I can» and hung up on him. I have left «Scott» two more messages and have not heard back. We offered Tee Time a very reasonable amount to settle the damage they caused by trespassing and doing unauthorized work on our property and they say they simply cannot write a check even though they know it is their fault and they are sorry. BEST PART… a week after the first incident… a random technician came back out and did it again. Whose on first!!! It is a terrible shame that a Family business that admits fault is unwilling to take care of a faithful customer. There are way too many good lawn service companies out there — stay away from this one.

We used tee time this year for the first time. Weed control has done nothing. I called to complain that after the second application we had even more weeds they said they would re treat free however I got an invoice. I have called 3 times on hold for 10 – 15 min and then left a voicemail and still have gotten a call back. Very dissatisfied

Very disappointed in the service we received! Our sales person told us to give our first treatment 2 weeks and if we were unsatisfied they would come back out. After 2 weeks our yard looked awful. I called the local office and was told it was no problem to come back out. They came out the following week and left a bill for a full service. When my husband called to inquire why we were told they’d come back for free, they said because we waited 2 weeks we’d have to pay for the service. We explained what our rep had said and cancelled our service. I followed up with an email to our rep and never got a reply. Very poor customer service, and even after 2 treatments we paid for still did not see any improvement in our lawn. Would definitely NOT recommend.

Great job. I hired them to do a fall aeration and overseeding. They came out when they said they were going to and even left behind the extra seed for me to do touch-​ups with in the spring. I have no qualms recommending them at all.

I’ve been a satisfied customer of Tee Time Lawn Care for going on 8 years, and I can’t believe that I haven’t written a Unilocal review until today. It just so happened that I got an email from them in my Inbox as I was looking at some other reviews here, and I decided to look and see if they were on Unilocal.
When my lovely wife and I moved into our current home, we saw that the grounds were fairly well kept but definitely needed some work boosting the basic health of the soil. It just so happened that we got a flyer from Tee Time (at the time, I believe it was Triple Take) lawn care services, so I decided to give them a try and have been with them ever since.
Yes, they aren’t the cheapest service around, but for the money spent, the results speak for themselves when compared to other landscapes in our neighborhood.
Several of my neighbors have in ground sprinkling systems and, during the drought summer a few years ago, developed fungus. I only water our back yard because of our gardens, and when I voiced my concerns to Tee Time, they showed up in a few days with an application of fungicide, no extra charge.
When I noticed Japanese beetle infestations in some of our shrubs and scale on some of our trees, I signed up for the tree and shrub service. That was two years ago and our plantings now look healthy and vigorous.
One last thing to add, I’ve never had anything but pleasant experiences when dealing with the teams that perform the services or the staff on the phone. They are friendly, seem very knowledgeable about the products they use, and more importantly, they communicate with me proactively about scheduled services and what their techs observe on our grounds after each application. That’s good customer service in my book.

Lots of promises, but when their applications didn’t work, their solution is that it takes time and more applications. Oh, and that will cost you more money. You pay a premium price for Tee Time, and the promise is that you’ll be taken care of. The kicker was when they called up a couple of months after the season and they said concerning the weeds and crabgrass, «What, do you expect us to be your groundskeeper?» Well, yeah. That’s what I paid for. Smooth talkers, but not trustworthy in my experience.

This company will scan you into lawn care service they call you on the phone saying they are going to send you out info when they are setting you up for service and they make you pay the service charge for a service you never requested.

Used Tee Time last year and renewed our contract this year. They always come out much later than our neighbor’s providers to spray. Attached pics, we used to have a gorgeous lawn now we have what I can only guess is maybe crabgrass throughout? Not certain that pre-​emergent makes a difference once it’s already here. I would need a lawn care company to tell me bc Ive never had to get involved before. Our previous companies handled it completely so this is new to me. Disappointed and won’t be continuing with them or recommending them if our lawn looks like this all summer.

What a great group of people! I will always refer people to a company that makes good on their promises, and these guys do! They came right out to look at what I had to work with and they were prepared with an estimate and timeframe to get the job done. Professional, courteous, prompt, and clean. I have a really beautifully landscaped yard that the neighbors talk about! I can’t wait for the thaw so I can get them back out to bring things back to life!

Great Company, Professional Local family business and extremely helpful and easy to talk to. This company definitely makes sure their customers are happy and If you have an issue they come out and do free service calls. That’s my favorite part about their business is the fact that they will come out and take the time to look at my lawn and actually show up. Through their actions and professionalism I just have to say I really appreciate this local company especially because their products are safe for animals and I don’t have to worry about children getting sick or a rash when they play in my lawn! As Jenny V said they have great communication and competitive prices which in return deserves me as a loyal customers!

Ever since we signed up with tee time our ginormous lawn looks great, they are friendly and very helpful communicating with us about their organic products (which are pet friendly, yay!)
Their prices are similar to competitors, i would recommend tee time to others looking for better lawn care.

I had some landscaping put in and I could not be happier! the crew was great and a supervisor was there making sure things were done right. Would recommend them again.

Avoid this company at all costs. I hired them based on their positive reviews on Angie’s list, but should have visited Unilocal first.
First, the people are nice as could be… if you can get in touch with them, but are always delayed in calling back and never pick up the phone when you call the office. Their communication is ridiculously slow (if at all) and it makes working with them to resolve an issue very cumbersome and time consuming. I hired a company to do my landscaping and lawn care because I don’t have the time to do it. I found myself spending more time managing their mistakes than I saved by hiring them.
I’m not sure how they train their people, but let’s just say that the feet on the ground doing the work leave a lot to be desired. Below are a few examples.
Wrong mulch was installed — I specifically asked for dark brown mulch, but a light brown was installed. This caused them to have to come out and remove the old mulch and replace with dark mulch… taking weeks and weeks to get it done.
Consistently blew wet grass on my car when they were mowing, even after I called them out and told them to stop doing it!
Ran their mowers through the mulch around my tress, throwing mulch in my driveway and in the lawn… and also removing the mulch I overpaid them for from the planting bed.
Consistently (despite requests not to) blew grass into the mulch beds vs. into the lawn.
Ran mowers over the edge of my patio pavers causing the bricks to pop up — a costly repair I can assure you.
When they mulched our property, the crew used the house to brace themselves, leaving dark handprints all around the siding (which is light colored).
During installation of the landscaping, the crew stood around and texted on their phones more than they worked… extending what should have been a 1.5 day job to 3 + days.
They are not knowledgeable on how to trim plants. They did a horrible job on trimming trees and bushes to the point where they had to replace 3 bushes in the front yard due to trimming errors.
The list of details they missed could go on and on, but suffice to say I would not recommend using this company. Again, nice people working at the company, but their ability to execute landscaping basics would cause me to stay away if I were you.

For the second time they fertilized on a hot day. Last time it was record breaking heat. I stopped getting phone calls. before service so I could not cancel. They won’t take off the fee even though they came at a bad time w/​o calling. The first treatment was when it poured rain so most probably washed away. It’s my first Unilocal review :)

They did try to call and make it right but still say fertilizing when hot is okay. I don’t agree. Nothing they can do because they won’t remove the fee for this treatment.
