Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt

I have been to many froyo places in the area and this is the best so far! The froyo is creamy and the flavors don’t seem as watered down or as artificial as other places. The cashier was very friendly, even to some teenagers who were abusing the free samples. This might sound dumb but the spoons are awesome! Prices are good too! The fruit bobas come in more flavors at this place than anywhere I have been before.
I normally don’t ever give 5 stars but I feel bad for this little place and the froyo is amazing.
I don’t understand these reviews.
First of all, the décor is unique but the chairs are comfy. It is not quite my style but that isn’t what you go to a froyo place for and shouldn’t be something complained about.
Second of all, why would you complain about the cups when they charge by the weight of the yogurt?
Third, the yogurt is the creamiest I have ever had. The only slightly water yogurt is the sorbet flavors which are always watery.
Fourth, the toppings are the same as any other froyo place. They’re not stale nor less in quantity.
Cocomero is the second best around!

Well I can see why they have a groupon for this place. The taste of the fro yo is better and the after taste is worse.
Cherry berry is in the same strip mall, go there instead.

The place is nice… service is okay… But the yogurt is tastes really bad. Almost inedible, they really need to fix it bc there is other competition very nearby that have better tasting yogurt.

Meh. The yogurt was not very good. There were a lot of toppings but they too were just ok. The service was non-existent…no hello… no hows your yogurt. The kids working sluffed off to the back whenever there wasn’t someone to check out. 2 adults and 2 children was $ 16.
The greatest disappointment was vanilla and chocolate in seperate machines preventing me from getting a swirl. Major no no.
We will visit the other fro-​yo places before returning.

I haven’t made it through all 5 of the frozen yogurt spots along Route 59 (a 13 mile stretch? that’s a lot of fro-​yo). But so far, Yumz is my favorite compared to Red Mango.
There is a wide variety of flavors. I ended up with white chocolate macadamia, which was my favorite, and a lot more flavorful than the plain white chocolate at Red Mango. I added a little bit of dreamsicle and black raspberry. The cheesecake bites went along perfectly with the black raspberry.
Being able to sample the flavors means I didn’t get anything I didn’t like. The root beer flavor was also very good, but I didn’t want a whole tub of it. I wasn’t a fan of the tart raspberry pomegranate, it had a medicine-​like taste to it. But maybe I’m too much of a grown-​up to appreciate tartness.
For 2 of us, our total was $ 7, and we got pretty generous portions.
The décor is fun, bright and inviting. I liked the small sofas against the wall, it’s inviting for a cheap date night, which is probably popular with the teenagers in the area.

The yogurt itself is just okay, you serve yourself & pay by the ounce. For 2 of us it was $ 9.80 which is considerably high. I would not go out of the way to go back to this place. You can find a better value elsewhere.

Worst frozen yogurt place ever.
Fist of all, the frozen yogurt itself tastes really bad and half of the flavors of the frozen yogurt were melted like slush.
Second of all, when I went to ask if I could get a new cup to start over since the icecream was all melted, they told me to pay an additional charge, and said, «well it isn’t melted that much, it’s still like solid.» well it really wasn’t, it was just like slush, which I wasn’t expecting to get out of a frozen yogurt machine at all. Eventually, she gave me that wtf face and threw the cup away. Worst frozen yogurt, worst customer service ever.

The concept is simple, the yogurt is great, toppings are great, service is great. I love it and i love the late hours. That is all.

The décor is absolutely stunning. Imagine a hip lime green and white interior with funky plastic chairs, textured walls, and Le Klint lighting fixtures. I would have been absolutely blown away if it was not a verbatim knockoff of Pinkberry’s interior design by Philippe Starck.
Honestly, I may have been able to overlook this faux pas had the yogurt been a rave. Perhaps they were having a bad day. The (regular, not sugar-​free) yogurt I purchased on Oct 27^th tasted like it had an artificial sweetener. I chose a tart flavor, so the unpleasant saccharin-​type aftertaste seemed to linger indefinitely. Also, I wished they had smaller size cups, the smaller of the two that they had would be a large at any ice cream shop, and the other option was even larger. I get it — they sell it by the ounce so I am sure they want you to fill the entire thing — but keep in mind some people (and kids) would appreciate a smaller cup. The good news about the experience was that the staff was friendly.

Was waiting for this place to open and finally saw balloons one day so decided to take the family in and check it out. The initial décor is pretty cool and a couple couches are available to sit on when first walking in. After that, it’s a bit chaotic trying to get to the yogurt machines as there is a railing that keeps people from easily moving back and forth between flavors. My son wanted to go back and get chocolate after getting to the end and it was light pushing through a crowd at a concert. Not to mention that people look at you like «how dare you try to go back and get a flavor you already passed!».
My flavors were mixed, and I got:
Peppermint — cool pink color, but WOW… tasted like frozen mouth wash it was so strong. Definitely won’t touch that one again.
Coffee (or some name to that effect) — the machine was either broken (on opening day) or just too slow as it was coming out soooooo slow that I finally cut my losses with just a small amount and moved on. Flavor was just OK. Not a strong coffee flavor, but enough to know what you had.
Cheesecake — this was pretty good with a good flavor, definitely the best out of the 3 I tasted.
Chocolate (actually my son’s, but I tasted. :-)) — good color but a little too much of a dark chocolate flavor for my liking.
Texture of the yogurt was a bit more «frozen» than other places I’ve tried where the yogurt is more creamy and enjoyable.
Toppings were countless and plentiful with about anything you could hope to put on top of your FroYo. Only complaint was the can of whipped cream that was sitting out getting warm.
Checkout was definitely a deterrent as there are 2 weigh stations crammed right next to each other where realistically there is only room for 1. Although there was an open register, I couldn’t even get to it as another family was already checking out. After a couple minutes of melting, it was finally our turn. Paid and sat down at the tables. The tables only hold about 3 people comfortably, so for a family of 5 we had to spread out.
Overall it was just «OK». I’ve had better flavors at other places and the cramped style of filling, checking out and sitting kinda kills the fun of heading out with the family for FroYo.
