I do not live in Wilkes-Barre anymore. However, my dreams of ice cream lead me back to Curly Crème. I easily gained 10 pds within a month from eating here too often one time. It’s that good. I enjoy that they offer a different soft serve flavor weekly, rotating some of the most requested flavors back for round 2 later in the summer. I believe they are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I wish they were open year round. The cold weather cannot keep me away from their Ice cream. Cash Only. This place can get packed easily, especially after dinner time on a weekend.

Dear Curly Cream, My hunt to find the best soft-serve area in the tri-state area of NYC is not going well. You were the best. I can’t find anything like you… anywhere. I’m looking for an excuse for the long drive out to PA just so I can go back to you. How about opening a shop up in NY? I’m pretty sure people here have no idea what good soft serve is. I think you even beat my favorite– Carvel. Thanks, Customer who wishes you weren’t so far away.

I was pretty hesitant about stopping here because the lines were so long but after seeing the reviews, I decided to brave the crowd. There is definitely a good reason as to why this place is so popular! The prices are great, the portions are huge, there is an abundance of variety, and of course the flavors are delicious! I opted for the coffee soft serve dipped in toasted coconut and it was sooooo good! My father opted for the sundae and he practically inhaled it! So if your in the mood for a sweet treat, be sure to drop by this spot and don’t let the long lines stop you!

WOW! Soft serve ice cream craving 150% satisfied!!! Really great deal and generous portions. I had a «child» portion which seems about equal to most other places small, and it was only $ 1.75. Perfect for a hot day. Just beware of long lines in the evenings. Definitely worth the wait, though! They alternate their strawberry flavor with black raspberry. I will definitely be back to try the black raspberry! They also have a flavor of the week which changes every week… A schedule is posted at their kiosk. Also, they are cash only so make sure you bring cash with you.

1. I’ve never seen such large servings of ice cream. 2. I haven’t seen such low prices for ice cream since I was a child, and the sizes were still small then. I’ve only tried chocolate-dipped, soft serve chocolate/vanilla and peanut butter, but they were tasty. This places also offers sundaes and slushies among other things and changes their flavors so you don’t get bored of the same old stuff if you’re a local. It’s also the first time I’ve seen more than chocolate as the option for dipping your cone, I saw one guy with a green dipped cone, but I have no idea what the flavor was-cool either way. They are cash only, which I don’t care for since I rarely keep cash on me these days, but my spouse happened to have a few dollars so it worked out. If you have $ 5 you should be fine for two people. When I was there I saw a wedding party, bride included, in the cue for ice cream. I would have paid just to see that. Totally worth it!

Best soft serve ice cream around! Small place that is cash only and is only open for about 3 months out of the year. They offer Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry all the time and then one specialty flavor that changes weekly on Wednesdays. Blueberry is my absolute favorite but most people can’t wait for Peanut Butter! Prices are very reasonable and portions are huge in my opinion. Expect long lines during the evening hours though because everyone is lining up to get their fix.

Cruly Crème always satisfies! During Summer it’s hard to drive by the joint and not stop. Their version of soft ice crème can’t be beat by anyone else in the area. Service is always good too. Even when there’s a line all moves along at a reasonable pace.

First experience here was just 3 days ago. I absolutely am in love with chocolate soft serve dipped in toasted coconut. The lines are always long and it’s always busy but the hard workers keep it moving fast. The wait isn’t that bad and well worth it.

Living in NEPA, I was very fortunate to have a ton of great places to go for ice cream! The soft serve is amazing… it is so much thicker and creamier than any other I’ve ever had. When I go to a lot of ice cream places I feel like I need to get some sort of crazy sundae, but when I’m here, I’m totally content getting just a plain ice cream so it’s not covered up with anything else! I hate that they are only open seasonally, and the lines are always crazy long. In the end, however, it’s totally worth the wait!

Great, affordable varied soft ice cream flavors… it’s a good after-dinner stop on the way home! There’s a reason there is always a long line.

Best ice cream in the area! This place is a must stop at least once a week. Try the holy cow-ice cream sandwich-its amazing. There is nothing that is not worth it here. Everything is delicious. Stop reading this and go there now!

Tried this place while driving through, and I wish this place were closer to where I lived. I’m tempted to make the 2 hour drive for another visit. Something about their soft serve is different. Super creamy and thick, and it melts slower than most so you can take your time! I forget what it was called, but I got a cup of banana split ingredients all blended together. It was excellent, but I had buyer’s remorse after seeing the«ultimate pretzel sundae» after ordering. Vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, caramel, hot fudge, peanuts, pretzels, whipped cream, and a cherry. I want. One weird thing. We wanted to buy a cup of choco chips to dip our cone in, and they said they couldn’t sell it separately. What?! Go visit! It’s worth it!

This was a big part of summer for me as a kid. Actually, even up through undergrad, before taking the hike up the other end of I-84 and moving to Boston. The soft cones were really good, but I remember them making a great watermelon slush and my favorite roadside ice cream stand ice cream soda ever. Hope to be able to take my own kids here when I go back.

When I think of Curly Crème, I think yummy soft serve ice cream. What’s special here are the changing twist combinations, most served with vanilla.(They have a sign posted on their windows showing what the flavor of the week will be.) I always come around the 4th of July b/c that’s when they have the blueberry-vanilla twist. In general, I think the fruit-vanilla combinations work better, I didn’t care for the pistachio-vanilla or peanut butter-vanilla. In the Summer there is always a crowd, but lots of parking. I would’ve given this 5 stars, except their season is waaay too short, they are the last seasonal ice cream place in the W-B area to open and seem to be the first to close.
