Spectacular Eyewear

My ophthalmologist recommended this place for my contacts and they taught me really well how to put it in, the doctors and the workers are really nice. But, they tightened my glasses too much and they take a long time to get new contacts ready. But overall, they are pretty good.

Had a great experience at Spectacular Eyewear. Claudia was super helpful in helping me find the perfect frames. Funny thing is that i would have not given them a second chance had i seen them on my own. Love them so much now i have given up my contacts lenses. So nice such a pleasant experience. I will be going back to them for all of my eye needs.

Did you ever expect to be blown away by shopping at an eye glass store? I didn’t, but I was. I’ve needed glasses probably forever. I hate getting my eyes checked, I’ve had several eye operations done while I was an infant and it must have ingrained some type of pure eye doctor phobia in me. So I wasn’t thrilled, but alas the significant other won out (she always seems to) and it was off to Spectacular Eyewear (where she got her glasses) to get an eye exam and pick out some glasses if I needed them. We didn’t make an appointment but I was able to be seen by the doctor within minutes of my arrival.
The eye doctor at this place is awesome, I explained my phobia and it was no big deal. Every little detail was explained to me before it happened and the process was relatively painless, though I’d rather have been anywhere else this was the most at ease I have been throughout an eye exam and that was important to me, but this wasn’t even the best part of this whole thing…
… When I was done with my exam (and yeah, I need glasses, I thought I was exempt from aging? I guess not) I was setup at one of the tables in the front of the store. I’m not really a fashionable type of person, I wear sandals, shorts and t-​shirts or shoes, jeans and t-​shirts and sometimes sweat shirts. I don’t pay all that much attention to that sort of thing, so in a way I wasn’t ready for the process of selecting glasses. I was primarily concerned with comfort, having not worn glasses before I didn’t want to suddenly feel like I had to adjust to something. My salesperson was awesome, not only did she seemingly have an unlimited supply of glasses for me to try on she explained to me while certain styles fit my face, my nose and my eyebrows better than others. As I started getting more into it and got a feel for what I liked we quickly narrowed down the options to a few different frameless set of glasses. I ended up going for a very light frameless set that’s light in color. I guess they’re considered designer frames but I didn’t mind spending the money on these because of how good I feel when I wear them.
The 5 star part of this whole review is because of how easy the entire process was and also because how cool I felt after I got my glasses, not only can I see better, but I feel like I look better. I never thought something that I was so apprehensible about could turn out to be such an appearance confidence booster. My salesperson made me feel awesome, which is great when you find out your eyes are aging and you can’t see as well as you used to!
I would recommend this place to anyone, I hope I never break my glasses and that my eyes don’t get worse but if they do, I’ll be back.

Jodie and her staff are outstanding — they are extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and kind. The Optometrist, Dr Klein, was the only doctor who could accurately diagnose my vision and prescription properly. I live Manhattan and went to the top doctors on Madison Avenue only to be very disappointed. My parents live in Long Island and suggested this place — I was skeptical going to Long Island over the city, but I can tell you this place is a real gem. Top quality people and terrific selection. They truly care about you.

Really had a great experience here today. Both ladies I worked with went out of their way for me. They made sure I was able to pick the perfect glasses. I did not have a lot of experience picking out glasses, so they created a helpful system so I can eliminate while I was trying on. The saleswomen was incredibly knowledgable as well. Glasses were rather expensive, but at least they are strong glasses and I will be happy with them.

Everyone there was so helpful and guided me pick out the perfect pair of funky new glasses. Other I was initially disappointed that Jodi was not there, Halie and Claudia spent lots of time with me, had me try on many pairs and just were both delightful to work with. They seemed to really care that I picked the perfect glasses for my face and style.

Just wanted one, item, and the, sales pitch was obvious!

Jodie, the owner, took care of me. Jodie and her staff were friendly, personable and knowledgeable. One look at her, and you could see that she was a fashion expert. She has an eye for faces and frames and picked out about 7 different frames from contemporary to retro. They were all the right ones for me but I ultimately allowed her to make the selection, and that turned out to be a great decision. I’ve been getting lots of compliments. Thanks Jodie!

I have known Jody for many years in the optical world and the one thing that strikes me the most about her is her passion for making sure that the customer is always taken care of correctly.
