The menu is unusual, and the service is a bit slow, but whenever I meet old friends while visiting the area, we keep coming back here. Steak and cheese egg rolls? I haven’t given them a try, and I probably won’t in the near future, but as for getting some drinks, you really can’t go wrong.

It’s always a great sports bar. The food and service is consistently good. Great little bar that is more than above average for the area.

I am giving one star because I can’t go any lower than that. Ordered chix wings, they said that theirs is a smaller version, so I expected themto be small, but what I didn’t expect was cooked chicken wings drizzled with choice of topping, I mean the wings weren’t even covered, just sparsely drizzled, and so small I didn’t think chickens even came that small. The Nachos are horrible, they were stale and burnt, and barely had any cheese on them at all(and white cheese at that). Ordered the burger medium rare, got it well done and dry. I will never go back there again.

Stopped in for drinks after dinner out last night, they had live music and a lively atmosphere. The burgers and pizza that walked by looked fantastic and has me really looking forward to coming back soon. We had many laughs with our waitress and she fed my girlfriend enough drinks to make me look good so service was great. The look was clean bright for a sports bar.

the place looks good. small café style, but clean and a good looking bar. the service was bad at the bar. she was pretty brash and kinda rude, but i don’t think she knew it. the food was awesome. i got a pizza that had chicken fingers, french fries, onion rings, ketchup, and mustard on it. it was so good! my gf got macaroni and cheese made with pepper jack cheese and it was phenominal too! a little better service and this place would be 4 stars!

I went here back in September of 2008 with a couple of friends and, although nearly empty, it was really good. They had both traditional and eclectic specials on the menu to cater to many different tastes. If this review had been on that experience alone, I would have rated it higher. Unfortunately, it’s not. My boyfriend and I went back here a couple of months ago(February or March, I believe) because we both remembered how good it had been. They totally changed everything; I guess before it wasn’t popular enough so they changed it from a nice restaurant into a sports bar. Most of their unique menu items were gone to be replaced with the usual munchie-like fare(pizza, 12″ subs, french fries etc.). Pan City may have made up for our disappointment with the quality of food(I ordered fish-n-chips and my boyfriend had a buffalo chicken sub). Although they were hearty portions, the food itself was only mediocre. Our waitress was also rude to my boyfriend; he asked for a side of chips with his sub(the choices were fries, chips, or macaroni salad). I guess most people just order fries because she acted like it was the biggest deal in the world. Then, when she brought the plates, she made sure to say how the chef made them«especially for him.» Yeah, because it’s a huge deal to make chips instead of fries, right? Ironically, the change this place made doesn’t seem to be attracting more patrons. We went on a Friday night and there were only one or two people at the bar as well as another couple who came in halfway through our meal. Maybe it’s just a bad location to have a restaurant, it’s a bit tucked away in a corner. Either way, I hope they change it back soon.

A former favorite watering hole of mine, Pan City Grill used to offer excellent food at reasonable prices. All that changed when the Chief owner Paul Walsh stepped down from his role and turned the kitchen over to a different chief. With a menu change and a new staff, the place has lost it’s former charm. Giving a couple of the new items a try, namely the«Gingersnap Pork» as well as the«Cheesy Pasta», I was completely underwhelmed. The pork was over cooked to the point of almost being inedible. The home-made applesauce was runny and the gingersnap was just two or three pieces sprinkled on the top and not encrusted like I imagined it would be. The pasta was just a simple dried out casserole with ziti and what tasted like stale breadcrumbs. Another ding against the place is when I came in the almost empty restaurant, two of the female waitstaff argued right in front of my guest and myself over who would get to seat us. Completely unacceptable! This place has dropped a couple of level in my opinion which is a shame because the area has a distinct lack of decent places to eat this level of food at the prices they used to charge.

After a day of shopping in the area, I wanted to have dinner at a restaurant off the beaten path. I ventured into Plainville and stopped into the Pan City Grille located at the end of Man Mar Drive. The Pan City Grille which serves up American and Mediterranean cuisine has been open since last October. This restaurant won the TV Diner Gold Plate Award in 2008. The place has a nice atmosphere in one open room with high ceilings, nice décor, lighting, flatscreen TVs(with sports on), table seating, high table seating, and seating at the bar, with a capacity for up to around 70 people. The kitchen area with open windows is visible from the dining area. I sat at the bar and ordered a Diet Coke($ 2) while I looked over the dinner menu. Check out the menu offerings at The prices are moderate and fair with sandwiches $ 8-$ 9, dinner entrees $ 12-$ 22, and desserts $ 6-$ 7 each. Daily specials are posted on the board. On Mondays and Tuesdays, kids under 10 eat free! I ordered the Pan City Grilled Moonshine Chicken($ 14), which I saw being prepared in the kitchen from my bar seat. The Moonshine Chicken was a big juicy boneless chicken breast marinated in orange juice, lime, and moonshine(it’s really tequila according to the cook), which had good and tasty citrus flavors with alcohol, served with rice and grilled zucchini, an excellent dish! The dessert menu sounded pretty good, but I passed and needed to get back on the road. The service was friendly and attentive throughout my short dinner, with a complementary refill on Diet Coke given to wash down the aftertaste of the chicken. I chatted a bit with the staff, who were very welcoming and gracious. I was feelin’ real good after dinner driving up 495 back to NH. So if you happen to be in the area(a quick ride from Mansfield or Wrentham), the Pan City Grille is definitely a great choice for lunch or dinner with a great menu and friendly service.
