Massimo did a great job in diagnosing a leak in our cooling system. His company Solvit did not give him a complete history of the system service (so that’s a problem), but he took the individual initiative to find the source of the leak

I scheduled an appointment for repair of a 3 year old water softener. The technician spent a short time in the basement and then told me «a little about how Solvit works». He outlined an annual service contract and inspection of my heating, water and electrical systems. I asked for written information about this and was told I would be given a list of covered services if I signed up for it that day. He mentioned possible replacement of a water holding tank for $ 2,600. Back to the softener… He didn’t realize that 18 «of water in brine tank was abnormal ! «I am not familiar with this model». I had put it on bypass which he did not recognize. For $ 175 he would do basic maintenance (which I had explained I had already done). If there was a part that needed replacing I would have to order it myself. Why would I want a service contract with a company that sent a technician who clearly had no clue how to fix what he was sent to fix? I feel THIS A SCAM.

They were very professional and easy going, explained everything that was going on so I was able to understand although I am a very techinical guy — someone would be able to understand the issue and their fix for it.
They even did such a good job and cleaned up the cables better than my service contract with my oil provider did
It was such a mess and they made it so neat and clean and got everything working in more than enough time.
The price was high but it seemed reasonable as it was just for the part and the labor was reasonable because they knew what they were doing
Would definitely recommend their home contract as it covers a variety of systems.
Hopefully I can get Massimo again when I need more service done.

Aaron came to the house on time and right away worked to diagnose my problem. He quickly figured out what was going and replaced the part I needed in a timely fashion. He was very friendly and you could tell he definitely knew his stuff. I had some other questions and he gave me honest advice on how to handle those. Service was great. Now I’m part of the SolvIt family.

Five stars – not because they’re cheap (they aren’t) – but because we’ve had a service contract with them forever, and we haven’t once had to wait any length of time for an emergency repair. All their personnel seem knowledgable and thorough: they’re in; they’re out. Done.

We have been using Solvit for years and have always have a great experience each time they visit our home. Their customer service is excellent and technicians are knowledgable, friendly and overall great to work with.
We recently purchased a new home, so we signed up for their home protection plan again and Massimo came yesterday to check out the HVAC system. He explained everything he was checking to me — even highlighting things that I wasn’t even aware we had in the new house and did an excellent job. There wasn’t a need for any repairs because our system is almost new, but he changed the filters, cleaned the unit, tightened a few wires and made me feel comfortable that we were going to make it through the winter with no heating issues.
We have a plumbing and electrician tech coming today to check our systems, which is a free service part of the home protection plan.
We would highly recommend Solvit as a company and their services. We have always been very happy in the several times we have used them.

Lucas came to our home and performed an inspection on our water system (120 gallon galvanized water pressure tank, water filter and water softener). He tested the water quality and PH and determined everything was in good order. I had a question about why were were getting corrosion on a couple of copper pipes; since the PH was fine, Lucas suggested galvanic corrosion — perhaps there was a problem with how the system was grounded. I gave it a bit more thought and it turned out that the corrosion occurred where the copper pipes touched air ducts — the solution is simply to wrap the pipes in electrical tape to prevent them from touching the air ducts. This was extremely helpful — left alone, the pipes would have eventually burst. Thanks for a great inspection!

Chuck was knowledgable, seemed to really care about doing the job properly, explained everything, and was on time the two times he came.

Matt C. Was the representative who came out to help us with our plumbing issues in our kitchen sink. Matt was not only professional and very knowledgable he was very friendly as well. He resolved all of our issues providing sound advice and great work along the way. We were so impressed that we signed up for the SolvIt home service plan. Matt, thanks for your help and keep up the great work.

We have had several repairs completed by Solvit, work has been of questionable quality. Our basement flooded on one occasion, however Solvit did manage the clean up very well. My advice is get a SECOND PRICE, we have recently discovered we have been terribly overcharged for work by a significant margin (over 100% more than it should have cost) their sales tactics are also aggressive when on site. We will no longer use them as a result as we can’t trust the advice or the price, it seems the engineers are on a commission model which creates a conflict of interest.

Excellent service by Matt C., the plumber. He has been here twice. Always on time, always cheerful and really helpful. He explains the problem and offers a menu of possible solutions and explains the cost. Really, really glad to have SolvIt! Before this, I had a hard time finding a reliable plumber willing to do small jobs.

Exceptional service, well-​explained, courteous worker who even covered his shoes– unasked– each time he entered the house (and he did need to go back & forth to the truck several times). Based on my experience with Lukas, I would highly recommend this company. Although it was getting late to repair the problem (& there was a fixed labor cost so I was not paying based on the time), I felt they took all the time they needed to do the job right.

When he arrived the technician was great. Unfortunately, he arrived a day later than scheduled. We had an appointment for Friday evening between 5 – 7 pm. At 7 I called, to be told that the tech was on another call and may be significantly delayed. I agreed to wait because we needed to get our AC fixed. At 11 pm he finally called to say he could arrive by midnight. At that point I gave up. Solvit called Saturday morning and arranged to have someone come at 10 AM, which he did

I have been a customer with Solvit for 5 years now, they always give me excellent service from the girls in the office who are always great to speak with to the knowledgeable techs. I know that day or night if I need something Solvit will always be there for me.
I most recently had frozen plumbing pipes due to the cold temperatures and Solvit was out same day and was able to get everything fixed and the water going for me! I can rest easy knowing that I have Solvit when something bad happens at my house.

I called Fletcher’s but it sold out to Solvit. I had three repairs: two leaky faucets and a leaky drain. Solvit fixed the leaky drain. One leaky faucet was repair but intermittently leaks — I have to go into the basement to see if it leaks, so I don’t always check. The second faucet was a washerless one. Solvit claimed they could not get repair parts, so they wanted to replace the faucet which also meant replacing sink. I opted out.
Later I called a real plumber (Wayne Sharp) He suggested I go to Modern Plumbing and pick the right faucet. Modern Plumbing had the part. Wayne was busy, guided me through the repair — done at a fraction of what Solvit spent just assessing my problem.

I used SolvIt to fix a heating issue I had last winter. First the good. The tech was very friendly and did diagnose the issue right away. The diagnostic fee was very competitive at $ 69 (diagnostic fees usually run around $ 90 in this area).
However, once the diagnosis was made, the cost to fix the issue was VERY HIGH. Given the estimate of the fix, I decided to get a couple different quotes. SolvIt’s quote was double the other two companies I called.
It’s a shame because everything else about the company was good. However, I will probably never call them to address any other issues in my home because their prices were so far out of their competitors range.
