75 Off Books

Guess I shouldn’t expect much from a 75% off joint like this… expect for them to maybe open within an hr of their posted times.

I have always enjoyed my visits to 75 off books. The selection is almost all new books and varied. They were once well-​known for computer books but have since put out more teen fiction, children’s and educational books (but there are still a few bookshelves of computer books). Back in the 2000 – 2001 heydays they used to be ‘the lesser of $ 5.99 or 25% of the cover price) but the books tend to cost at most $ 10 but there are plenty that are cheaper.
The Richardson store is the last location I know of. I think all the old ones closed down and the Richardson location was about to close when new management came in. It is still the same place with the same interesting selection of good cheap books.
This place was definitely at the top of the list why my kids (thankfully) love reading. They still sometimes read books we bought there 10 years ago. It is invariably on our list of places to stop and shop when we are in Richardson.
