History

Established in 1998.

Dr. Deborah Moon purchased Lakeside Vision & Optical in 2004. She has worked diligently to turn this optometry practice into one of the most technologically advanced and computerized eye care facilities in the Metroplex. Lakeside Vision & Optical has always been known for the warm, friendly atmosphere. Some of our team members have worked with Dr. Moon for over 10 years. Many of the office staff have returned to Lakeside, including Christy, Rosa, Donna, and Brian. Rosa Kanalz, Donna McDonald, and Brian Lacey are ABOC board certified opticians. Annette and Hope have been part of our team for many years. Our newer team members have a passion for caring for our patients too. We pride ourselves in treating you like you are part of our family. Dr. Moon was joined by Dr. Blythe McPherson in June 2015, and together they are expanding, renovating, and updating the practice to a completely computerized and automated system, which will enhance and expedite your eye examination.

Dr. Deborah Moon graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1996. While in her clinical rotations, she received many Letters of Clinical Excellence. She also completed the additional education and examination requirements to practice as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Moon is an honor graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. She also received an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Grayson County College and worked in a hospital laboratory for several years while earning her Doctor degree. A Texas native, Dr. Moon graduated from Denison High School in Denison, Texas. She has been caring for patients in Plano since 1996 and purchased Lakeside Vision and Optical in January 2004. Dr. Moon is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Moon was recently named «America’s Best Optometrists 2015!»
