I’m pregnant and my mother got me a Red Door Spa gift package for my birthday. That package included a massage, lunch, and mani and pedi. After realizing that the gift certificate didn’t include the prenatal massage, I called and had zero trouble getting it changed. I got there, was greeted and taken back to the changing area. The massage was fabulous, the mani and pedi were fabulous and I had the best day. Will absolutely be back again before this baby comes for one more day of pampering.

A long story about how a wedding day was made worse by poor service by an unfeeling manager and makeup artist at the Red Door. We had an appointment for my hair and makeup as well as my daughter’s for her wedding reception. We had been there before for the photography hair and makeup and were satisfied. Due to construction at the shopping center, though, the entrance was not accessible, and we got routed somewhere else in the center by traffic cones. Time began to pass as we looked for the entrance on foot, lugging wedding paraphernalia. We called to get directions only to discover that the phone doesn’t ring in the salon (horrors! it might disrupt the patrons!) but in a remote call center in another state that could not give directions or, in fact, contact the salon at all. They are completely isolated from the world. More time passed and my daughter is by this time crying and I am frantic.
The salon finally called us on the cell to find out where we were and managed to get my daughter there, but we had by this time split up trying to find the entrance, so I was even later. There would not be time to do both of us as booked. And they had no record that the appointment (made by the wedding planner) was for a wedding. I asked for a reduced service because there wouldn’t be time for a full make up, and was denied until the manager was involved. He agreed to do a «touch up» which he proceeded to describe as «practically nothing» for which I would still pay $ 65. Totally frazzled, I got about 1 minute into the makeup (one eyebrow) when I remembered to give my daughter’s stylist (he was great, by the way) the veil and combs. I fumbled and dropped one of the combs and the pearls broke. I said «damn» because at this point the wedding day was going very badly and now we didn’t have combs either. The manager came by and told me to «watch your language, this is a high class establishment». And then he invited me to leave when I was not sufficiently contrite. Before leaving, I recommended they rethink the policy of having no phone access to the salon. There are times where it’s needed, and this was one of them. That suggestion was met with stony silence by the manager. The episode ended with me not getting hair or makeup done at the Red Door, and leaving (returning to pick up my daughter when her services were done). My regular stylist at Lifetime took care of my hair on 10 minutes notice and promised he would not throw me out if I was still rattled and said something «low class».
Here’s how it should have gone at a «high class establishment». «Ma’am I am so sorry you couldn’t reach us when the road was blocked and that this important day is going very badly. We know this is a once-​in-​a-​lifetime event and you are clearly badly shaken up. Would you like to take a moment to compose yourself alone in the spa? We have a room not being used. Here’s a flavored water. We can’t get your makeup done at this point, but we can still do your hair when you’re ready. Your daughter is in excellent hands. How can we make this special day better?» Everyone would have been happy and, incidentally, nothing in this suggestion would have cost the Red Door a red cent. The business would not have been lost for that day and all future days by myself, my family and the wedding planner, who was horrified. .
The incident was described in answer to a survey followup from the Red Door, immediately afterwards but we got no response or apology over the following months. I assume the survey results don’t actually get read, and don’t actually matter. While I do not like resorting to Unilocal,the company had a chance to make this better and didn’t. So I feel that this deserves a public discussion, so that the company can upgrade its customer service standards for dealing with difficult situations. (It’s easy to be nice when things are going well; the challenge is to be nice when things are going badly).

I was referred to RedDoor by a dear friend who always has gorgeous hair. I asked her where she went and she had me meet her one day at RedDoor. I was concerned about price but I went anyway. I didn’t have an apt. I just popped in about 20 minutes before hers ended so I could talk to her stylist and get a quote for myself.
I arrived and before I walked back I was offered a «latte» or «water». I said latte and it was given to me with a little ginger cookie.
I sat with my friend and chatted while her apt was finishing up. She was offered a water and she said yes. «Lemon» or «Berry»?
At that point I had a new place for hair… provided I could afford it. Lol
I met with Maren. I told her I wanted my hair to be «Kardashian» brown. She nodded. I then I noticed my friend blow drying her own hair along with other clients. There were flat irons, curling irons and blow driers available for people who wanted to finish their own hair!
She asked me if I «just» wanted a quote for single color. I said yes, no blow dry. And that was the part that made it affordable for me. $ 80 for gorgeous color and I could style my hair the way I liked it after.
I went to Maren a few weeks ago for my first apt. My hair was «kardashian» brown. Plus I got 20% off because I was referred by a friend. My friend got 20% off too.
I decided to buy some make up while there, I got 20% off that too.
Three weeks later it was time to go again. I’m now the mother of the bride. Maren was going on vacation but I felt confident I’d be in good hands
I sure was. I saw Paula. She kept everything the SAME. Which being mother of the bride was good. She made a few suggestions and since she had time blew my hair without charging me.
I have officially found a new place and I feel it’s worth the money. It’s not easy coloring your hair brunette at home!

For beautiful color, ask for Maren, she is patient and kind, always listens to what I want and helps me to achieve the perfect shade of blonde in my highlights. She goes out of her way to make sure you have a great experience and that you will Love your hair when you are done!

Great experience… staff was very friendly… Ellie was my Esthetician and she was absolutely wonderful… had to give her a hug before I left! The room was warm and comfortable, my skin looks and feels amazing… This was my first experience having microdermabrasion and I will definitely continue.

I love Red Door. Sezen gave me the best facial i’ve ever had. She took time to evaluate my skin, determine what the best facial would be for my skin condition. she is very knowledgeable and professional. Can’t wait to go back for my next facial.

I have gone to this Red Door Spa in Plano for many years, from their very beginning here. I’ve returned because of a facialist, but I will never set foot in there again, and I am telling all of my friends. The front desk has always been aloof and oftentimes very slow and disorganized, but I was willing to put up with that for my facial. However, today, the young girl at the front accidentally dropped my credit card into the tiny space between the counter and the wall, in a space where the credit card could not be seen and it was very uncertain if it could be retrieved. I stood there in an extremely anxious state for 40 minutes while 3 people tried to retrieve it. Then the manager, Lena, was called to come and try. While the girl who dropped the card apologized and said she didn’t intend to drop the card, the others never did and I did not experience any compassion coming from them. The manager Lena was especially cold and rude, never once apologizing. When asked if I might be compensated for the long and anxious wait which totally eliminated the peaceful feeling I had gotten from the facial, Lena was very nasty! Never again! They have lost a customer forever. Much better spas in Dallas with better management, front desk, and relaxation rooms with better professional service to choose from!

Laura is the BEST esthetician! Not only does she keep my skin looking good, but she’s also the only person I trust w/​my eyebrows. She’s wonderful! She’s also super sweet & listens to what you want. Been going to this place for 10 years now & they never disappoint

Such a disappointment! I called ahead to see if they had a stylist who could do an «undercut bob». After asking the stylists, one said «yes» so I made an appointment. Well, when I got home and saw the back… there were longer wisps of hair underneath. An undercut Bob is shorter underneath. I carefully cut them away. However, one week later I could no longer hide the tragedy of this haircut. The entire underneath section is longer than the top. My hair flips! This is the exact opposite of what I asked for. The end result was hidden in the blow out. I’m new to the area so I called what I thought would be a salon with the most well-​trained stylists. I asked before I went! And now i need a haircut already. Very disappointing.

My face was getting wild, not sure if it was because I’m officially too old to go to prime bar/​uptown or what! I decided I need a facial asap. I searched and was able to get in the same day with the Red Door Spa at willowbend. I read good reviews on the facial and thought yes, I might find a gold mind.
The esthetician was very sweet and made me feel comfortable.
The Amenities defiantly lacked but it’s inside a mall what more do I want?
The facial itself just felt like she was globbing a bunch of product on then wiping it off. Didn’t feel any difference on my skin that day or anyday afterwards. I wouldn’t recomened unless you want to blow 125.00 on a C average facial.

Worth every penny! I got a hair cut, blow dry and finish with Gabby today and she was wonderful! I left with beautiful, shiny and perfect hair! Highly recommend the $ 35 treatment as well!

Again and again, I am so impressed with my hair from Megan Nicole. Her attention to detail, professional manner, and quality work is absolutely astounding. She listens to your needs and creates a beautiful new you! Whether it’s an updo, color, cut or extensions she creates masterpieces and with this day and age a quality artist is a precious gem to keep and treasure. If you want to go to someone you can trust and be continually impressed go see my girl Megan. You will be astounded. Ps her blowouts are to die for!

My sister and I attended JLCC Neath the Wreath Kick Off Party last night and had an amazing time! The staff overall was so nice and welcoming to all of us — I was beyond impressed! I got two services while there:
Massage — Evon gave me the best back and shoulder massage — maybe the most relaxing 20 minutes ever? There were at least 50 women there and Evon must have done 20 massages that night, yet she was still so friendly and did such a great job. My sister was after me and also enjoyed her massage as much as I did. I’ve gotten many many messages in my life, and this one is at the top! I made an appointment to go back next month and I can’t wait!
Hair — my sister and I were both admiring the hair of one of the stylists so we went to her whe it was our turn. We told her how much we loved her bangs and how we have never been able to get them because we both have a widowspeak/​cowlick, turns out she had that too and still had the best bangs! We decided to take a chance (we were celebrating our birthday after all, yep we are twins) and left with great bangs… Bangs I never thought we could have! She did an amazing job and I plan on going back to get an entire hair cut! If you are thinking of trying a new hairstyle go to Gabby — she is AMAZING and a big sweetheart!

A coworker recently treated me a manicure at Red Door and I was pleasantly surprised with the level of service and finish of my manicure.
The price is more expensive than a walk in salons but the level of professionalism and service is better as well. They provide warm neck pillows and blankets along with the other standard things you would expect.
My manicure (regular/​nothing fancy) lasted a week. I would definitely consider going back when I want a relaxing, pampering experience.

I don’t know why this place only has 2 stars. I had a great facial and dermabrasion. I would go back again

Makeup looked great with the exception of doll like eyelashes that I took off before I went anywhere.
Blowout and style was a complete disaster that had to be redone before I stepped foot in public.
Mani/​Pedi done by a woman so rude she barked orders at me. The woman next to me in the pedi chair actually laughed out loud. The technician’s demeanor was comically harsh.
I will not return and am very sorry I spent the money I did on a wasted afternoon.

I was very happy with my service today (1−21−13 MLK Holiday) and this was my first time visiting the Red Door Spa at the Plano location. I purchased the Red Door Debut spa package for $ 236. This package included:
1) 50 minute Swedish massage
2) Elizabeth Arden Essential Facial
3) Customized Eye Contour
4) Warm Cream Manicure
5) Makeup Touchup
The 50 minute Swedish massage was wonderful. My therapist, Elana, did a really wonderful job and maintained professionalism the entire time. I was able to relax and enjoy my massage from head –to-​toe to the very fullest! She really did a great job!
The facial was also very nice. Perhaps this facial package is a little minimal though, with only a few face scrubs and a mask. However, she did offer to upgrade me to a more customized facial for $ 30 more, I kindly declined. The eye contour was also applied at this time. To be honest, I have no idea what its purpose was– I wouldn’t really recommend anyone to purchase an eye contour on their own. However, it was part of my package so I just went with it. The facial also included a brief hand and arm massage ending with your hands soaked in a lotion and wrapped in a warm bag and mit. I was left to relax peacefully while my final mask and arms soaked.
The warm cream manicure was awesome! My nail specialist, Fatemah, did a really great job. I would recommend this «warm cream manicure» to people who have bad cuticles like I do. She took her time and thoroughly removed the cuticle build up. The manicure also consists of other oils and a lotion rubbed onto your hands and arms and concludes with a polish job. She took her time and was very steady and did not seem rushed (although there was no one else waiting to have a manicure). But the polish job looks great!
Overall, the staff was very friendly and professional. I feel like I got my money’s worth. It was a very relaxing and cozy environment with nice soft robes. However, this is more of a boutique type spa. I was looking for more of the sauna spa type environment. I would recommend Red Door Day Spa to others though, who just want a quick pampering. I would come back. But first I would like to venture to other Spa’s that offer sauna and other amenities like Spa Castle.

I use to go here a lot in the past and it’s still nice but I’ve found other places to get just as good service for a little less $$$. The people are super nice and everything is really clean and neat and I don’t have a bad thing to say about anything. I can just get something just as good from a local small business. I’d go back or recommend it to a friend.

I had my hair cut there yesterday and I couldnt have been happier! I had Gabby cut it, she was very professional, asked a lot of questions, and it turned out the way I wanted!
