Legacy Learning Center

I like this child care center for my child, but please be aware that they seem to have some shady practices with fees. While my child was out for the Christmas holidays (1 week), we still had to pay half tuition. Then when my child went back to the center after christmas, I learned that they charged a vacation fee out of the blue. Seriously, they claim that there was a posting on their front door regarding it, but if your child was out for the week of Christmas I guess you would not know. My personal belief is that the fee was assessed to either pay the workers a Christmas bonus or to cover for a lot of parents choosing to take their kids out for the week and pay the half tuition. Either way, I am not a proponent of random charges.
The teachers seem to be good and caring, but please watch your account very closely.

My son goes here and he loves it. Everyone is so friendly and they all know EVERY kids name. Awesome.

A hidden gem!
My daughter began attending Legacy Learning Center shortly before her third birthday. We’d just moved to Plano from the McKinney area, and up until this point, she’d attended a home daycare. We knew she was ready for a more formal preschool experience, but because of our work schedules, we also needed the extended hours of a childcare facility. We researched and toured many of the local options, and LLC was our final stop – we did not need to look any further.
My soul knew this was the exactly-​right fit.
Rather than relying on a keypad entry system, LLC maintained top-​notch administrative staff who were ALWAYS present at the entry and ALWAYS greeted me by name. Their capacity for remembering the minute conversational details about my daughter and our family really impressed me and made me feel welcome and safe. They were enthusiastic, mindful, aware, and direct. When someone entered the facility whom they did not recognize– whether it was a prospective family or a «change of plans» pickup adult– they were warm and welcoming, but most importantly, they were immediately investigative.
My daughter remained at Legacy Learning Center until she enrolled in Kindergarten, so we had the pleasure of cycling through three different classrooms/​teachers. The teachers were professional and kind. They were not overly warm-​and-​fuzzy, which was fine with me. My daughter experienced a more structured, education-​driven day, which allowed me to spend our afternoons, evenings, and weekends doing the snuggling and cuddling.
We miss Legacy dearly – after two years in public school, my daughter sometimes remarks that everything she’s currently being taught is something she already learned in preschool, and it’s tough to bite my tongue and not rush to agree. It’s true – she learned SO much more at LLC in the traditional core content areas as well as in music, fine arts, and cultural studies.
Nestled back behind the Kroger and the fitness place, it’s a little hard to find at first. The location and building itself might not be a snazzy as some of the competitors, but it’s what’s inside that counts. I highly recommend Legacy Learning Center. If they offered a K-​8 private school option, I’d sign my daughter up in a heartbeat.

This is by far the absolute best preschool experience I have ever had and I have three children and have experienced numerous childcare facilities both in-​home and facility, in California and TX. From the initial tour we could see that this was extremely clean, structured, orderly, new, and safe. However, once enrolled, we realized that the staff is amazing — very high caliber, the teachers are loving and patient, and the education is wonderful.
My youngest son spent more time with me than my other two but had experienced three other childcare facilities prior to moving to TX. It was hard for us to find a happy medium. He loves to play, but we also wanted structure. Some places offered too much freedom with a lack concerning learning, some were too serious with not enough freedom to play. This place was perfect. Where my son usually was hesitant to go to school, here he wanted to go on the weekends. My older two loved the summer program too.
We defintely miss this place (relocated to another area of TX) but highly recommend it to anyone. They are amazing and very open to communication if you do have any concerns.
