Had an absolutely terrible experience with this store on 9÷25÷15. Bought 4 brand new tires on 1÷23÷15. Exactly 8 months later (with only 8,000 miles put on the car during that time), the two rear tires are completely worn on the inside. Store now says alignment is off, so tires are not covered under warranty. The tires are shot, so it is a major alignment issue.
The manager, Mike H., says they did an alignment check when they were installed and since I did not have them go ahead with alignment service, it «must have been fine» at the time. But he nor the other two workers standing there would say anything definitive. I said I have huge doubts and reservations about how the tires were installed and whether there was an accurate alignment check at the time. There was absolutely no willingness to admit there may have been an issue with it — just that it is completely my fault and I must have done something within the last 8 months to throw off the alignment. Meanwhile, they can’t even check my alignment at this store now because they don’t have the proper equipment for my low profile vehicle. Supposedly they had the equipment up until a few months ago. Quite convenient, isn’t it? Makes me wonder — did they even have the proper equipment in January? Did they really do the alignment check then?
I asked Mike if he was saying that he would do nothing at all to help me and he said «that is correct.» I told him that this is not how NTB should be treating customers. He was defensive, rude and condescending. Then he did throw an offer out to waive the installation fee, but at that point it was too late. All I was asking for was a better explanation of how this could have happened. And some sort of offer to help from the store. I am furious and will never use National Tire and Battery again, and I will be warning all of my family and friends as well.

I recently bought two new tires at the store on Plano Parkway in Plano, TX while in the process of driving back home 1000 miles away.
The sales guy came into the room and told me that one of my struts had failed and my other one was leaking, and the estimated repair bill was going to be over $ 2000.
I declined, but had me worried on my 1000 mile drive back to my home state.
I brought the car to the dealer who was quite surprised and stated everything looked and felt perfectly as it should and stated the rep at National Tire and Battery was either incompetent or was lying.
I would not recommend this dishonest business. In speaking with friends, sounds similar to other experiences they’ve had also.

I own a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Since purchasing this car 8 years ago, I have had to purchase new tires every 1 ½ –2 years. If you search the Internet, excessive tire wear is a common problem with this car.
Because of the excessive wear, I typically get a «mileage/​wear credit» when I purchase a new set of tires. In 2014, I purchased 4 Yokohama tires from the NTB location off 75 in Plano. They advised me to get the tires rotated at NTB locations so the rotation would be in the computer system. They also mentioned they were no longer accepting rotation receipts for other service vendors. I was previously getting my tires rotated at Kwik Kar with my oil changes.
Throughout 2014 to present, I would get my oil changed at Kwik Kar and then drive to NTB at Plano Parkway and Preston in Plano for the tire rotation. When I asked for a receipt for the rotation, the sales associates said it was in the computer system and no receipt was needed. I have had 4 tire rotations at the Plano pkwy and Preston location in the last 1 ½ years, all completed without a receipt or signature. Today, I went to purchase new tires and was told there was no record of my tire rotations. Because of this, I could not be offered wear credit. I feel as though I have been «robbed» of the warranty I was rightfully owed. I did everything the sales associate asked by going out of my way to get a tire rotation at your store so you would have a record of it. And now I’m treated a liar.

Thank you Gary!!! After wasting my time with Wal-​Mart for a week and having no tires to show for it this location helped me get what I needed regardless of the fact they DID NOT make a SINGLE DIME OFF ME! Calling multiple locations and verifying with multiple managers if they could physically touch the tires I needed saved me another horrible week of trying to get my unique tires ordered. I will be starting at the Plano location from here on out because they showed respect for my needs and efforts. Thank you for the customer service! Ps: he could have lied and said the best option was for me to wait til they could get someone to drive the tires to them, where they would have gotten all the money I’m spending, but instead respected my time and helped me find the fastest way possible to save what I had left of my Sunday.

I needed some work done on my 09 Caravan, and was going to be doing some things in the area, figured I’d let this NTB handle the work. Normally, I go to the one on Central Expy in Plano.
First call was good, made the appt.
Arrived for the appt, they wrote things up on what I wanted done.
They called me 2 hrs later to say that my wiper blades also needed replacing… when I’d just replaced them 2 weeks before. Oh yeah, they were going to charge $ 25/​per blade to replace them (3 on the car). Stopped that in it’s tracks.
When I got home, I smelled a bit of antifreeze, but that’s to be expected as you can’t change out the hoses without getting some antifreeze on things.
Really disappointed in the wiper blade issue. Almost $ 100 for blades incl tax. No thanks. Not sure I’ll be back.

Just received incredible service on my car at this location. Service rep Larry Berrera helped me get tired all around on my 2006 BMW, after an epic fail at Discount Tires in Plano at there I75 location.
NTB was considerate of my time; efficient without trying to create additional issues to maximize their sale, and very courteous. I will return to this location in the future. They do other things besides tires and batteries.

I really love NTB after dealing with them a lot at the south arlington location for major car issues with my dads car I became a true fan of the company. This is my first time at this Plano location. We were towed here for the hubby’s flat and were immediately greeted by someone. Larry helped us by checking the car in and giving an estimate for a new tire. The prices here are always reasonable. Even cheaper than getting a used tire from a mom and pop (for his vehicle). Larry was upfront and honest about everything. A few minutes later he came back n told us there was nothing wrong with the tires just really low on air!!! Lol who does that? Really in need of an oil change so he ordered one up. And that’s why I love NTB if you don’t have a problem they don’t go and make up some mystery charges. I’m actually a female that knows about cars as I used to work in an auto shop so you can kind of tell when mechanics try to screw you but NTB is very non mechanic friendly. I recommend this place to everyone.

Extremely unprofessional and absurd. Went there to get an alignment and paid for 6 month warranty, they were very rude to begin with. Called back a few weeks later to set an appointment and they said we didn’t have the warranty and the first alignment wasn’t paid for. I told them I have the alignment sheet with me with the date and time as proof. They vaguely said they will see and ended the call. They called back again saying we should come in to sort things out. We went there and no one took care of us. When we finally got our alignment, no words exchanged. We were very confused about what happened? Alignment finished and the manager came up to us and said we were no longer able to use the 6 month warranty. Are you serious? He didn’t even apologize and simply walked away. Poor management, worst NTB I’ve ever been to.

This morning was a little rough for me… I was on my way to the Acura dealer to drop off my overheating car and kept having to stop every block or so to let it cool down. This all happened before work so I was pressed for time, and freaking out that my car was going to blow up. Tow trucks were all giving me hour, hour+ estimates. I pulled into NTB on my way to Acura, and explained to them the problem. Their team was immediately on it, showed me what they thought to be the problem, and topped off the coolant levels, water, etc. I tried to pay and they refused. This never happens, especially when I am taking business to a competitor! The NTB team went above and beyond to help me quickly and make sure that I could get to my destination safely. I am so grateful and have thought about this several times today. It’s the little things. Such great customer service!

As an autocrosser, this place has done all the tire things for me that other places are too hesitant to do. I change wheels and tires probably 2 – 3 times a month. Great people who know what they’re doing. Yeah, my wheels did get scratched, but it’s a track set so I don’t really care. And this place is pretty much never busy, so I didn’t have to wait long.

I don’t know who though it would be a good idea to leave someone who has only been there 3 weeks in charge and alone today, but that guy lost you your sale on 4 new tires.
Spoke on the phone to someone about ordering 4 tires. He stated that would not be a problem, they would have to be shipped from Kansas to them and to come in and purchase them, so we did.
We arrive and tell the idiot behind the counter what we wanted, and he then proceeded to try and sell my husband (who is a Master Technician!!) 4 different tires for $ 30 more EACH. HELLLLLLL NO. I want the same tires I have on my car now, not some ridiculously overpriced ones. Pissed my husband off enough he left. NO SALE. Way to go!!!

oil change and bulb replacement…100 bucks… dang…

This place is great. I had a nail in my tire so I originally went to Toyota… Toyota informed me (after I spent over 2 hours waiting) that they couldn’t fix it and they wanted me to completely replace my tire.
I opted to go across the street to this NTB and am SO glad I did! They were able to patch my tire (I did not have to replace it, thank God) in 45 minutes. They even apologized for the delay– even though I was thrilled that they were able to help me so quickly & efficiently. Then– to top it off– I was not charged. At all. Today could’ve been an expensive, unnecessary disaster but this NTB really saved the day.
I will be coming back for all future tire /​battery needs.

Had problems with them several months ago. Thought i would give them another try. Needed them to check a tire for a leak. Guy comes back and says it is fine. No problem. Interesting since the car was locked and i had my keys and the car was in the parking lot, not in the service area.

Run as fast as you can away from this location. My husband and I have been huge NTB fans for many years — buying all our tires and doing all our oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, etc. at an NTB location in Carrollton at the George Bush and Josey. Shout out to Steve! We LOVE that location, primarily because there is an employee there whom we trust to give us honest advice. However, we’ve moved and that location is no longer convenient. This NTB store in Plano is right around the corner from our house so we started going there and assumed we would get the same level of honesty. Not true.
Preparing for a road trip this month, we took our vehicle in for a tire rotation and balance. We asked them to give the vehicle a quick look to make sure it was ready for a 2,000 mile road trip. When I went to pick up my vehicle three hours later, they presented me with an estimate for $ 3,000 of services they said were needed… some of them before our trip. I drove my Lexus down the street to Davenport Motors, who had just replaced the water pump, to get a second opinion. They did a complete check and guess what? Not only did we NOT need any of the work done that NTB tried to scare us into doing, some of the things NTB recommended we do had literally just been done the month previously at Davenport.
After faithfully using NTB for 10+ years, we will never darken their door again. They tried to scare us into $ 3,000 of service work that was not needed. I think your experience with NTB will depend on the particular location and the caliber of individuals working there. If you happen to find a location like our old one with trusty Steve on staff, you’re fine. Otherwise, hang onto your wallet and run for your life!

Got an oil change. The walk out price was 50% higher than advertised, which was expected. However the sales associate Jonathan Harwell, tried to upsell as much as possible, even by lying. He said my brake fluid was bad, black, etc. but I had just changed it and was clear. He also said my engine would explode if I didn’t get the premium synthetic oil. I just got the basic oil. Watch out for their deception. Do not trust or patronize them!

Been here several times, disappointed on each occasion.
Basically you need 1 – 3 hours for anything you need done. Even with an appointment.
On separate visits:
— tried to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn’t need
— went in for an oil change, got a sticker with the wrong oil marked and when I questioned them about it they assured me «he put the right oil in» (if they even remember the sticker)…how am I supposed to know what oil you are putting in my car???
— Made an APPOINTMENT for first thing in the morning for an alignment, but when I show up he said its going to be 1 — 1.5 hours because they «have to finish the cars from yesterday».
— Went back again for an alignment because I stupidly bought the 5 year package, and there was dirt all over the driver side (like they had the door open and had their dirty boot all over the lip where the door closes). I HAD JUST HAD THE CAR DETAILED.
And this is just THIS NTB. I wish I could rate a company. I have had problems at the store in Houston when I lived there, the store on George Bush & Coit (which I called Corporate about and never heard back… they were CLOSED during open hours!).
NTB used to be a good place to go to. Overall their stores’ customer service and willingness to do a good job have rapidly deteriorated.
THEY. JUST. DON’T. CARE.

Dropped off my car for a wheel alignment being told to pick up after 45 minutes. After coming back right at the 45 minute window, come to find out, no one was working on the car. Manager on Duty gave lame excuses like its been too hot this evening, etc. Nevertheless, car gets on the alignment rack and 15 minutes later was ready for me.
Manager on duty, put paperwork in NTB envelop without explanation of what work was done. I open the envelop to read the alignment report, to find that the alignment was out of spec and for the most part had not changed from what was before.
Upon questioning, Manger on duty says that his alignment techs had left for the day and as such had to put a general mechanic to work on the alignment. What’s more that the tech did not have the right tools to do an alignment. Apparently the alignment techs have their personal tools and NTB does not provide them the necessary tools. Seemed very rubbish to me.
Looks like I just pissed off 90 minutes of my life with the alignment being just as was before.
I am mad about the fact that when the car was signed in for alignment, no one in the shop mentioned that they will not have the right guys working on it nor that they did not have the tools. This seems very deceitful to me.
These guys just lost a customer & I sincerely hope that they loose more !!!
Very Irate customer …

I bought my Charger in 2006 and decided that I would try using one place for all maintenance in order to avoid problems I’ve experienced in the past using «whoever» to maintain my vehicles. It paid off. NTB has done every oil change, tire rotation, etc. And the service has always exceeded expectations.
I wish NTB had a Loyalty program!
