NYLO Plano at Legacy

Staff were nice enough but this is a little too much «Communist Era Eastern European Youth Hostel» and not enough «Urban Chic». I had a reservation for 4 nights, after 1 checked out and sought alternative accommodation with those little extras, like carpets. The limited fittings were dirty and stained, the shower curtain was broken and the whole place was nasty and uninviting.

I am sorry but I will never stay here again. I get they want to be chic and what not, but the sacrifice in convenience and comfort is just too much.
As with another reviewer, the check-​in was already a bad experience. It was like they were trained to not be friendly or helpful so as to be unique or chic or whatever.
The room is clean enough, but again, to be chic the hotel sacrifices comfort and convenience. Where the plugs are located is not smartphone-​friendly. Of course no frige, no glasses, just one paper cup for the coffee. The TV, or its remote, basically does not respond at all. I had a very hard time just switching from the initial menu to live TV. And browsing movie selections and trying to select a movie is nearly impossible. To cap it off, the wifi, while free, is so slow it is basically non-​existent. I would have paid to get a decent wifi connection speed, but not offered…
No, I will not go back again.

Disclaimer: I «named my own price» so I didn’t pay list price. However, I always win big with Priceline so I’ve grown to expect waaaaay more than I pay.
I was worried when I found out I was booked here due to the reviews. I was automatically defensive when we pulled up.
1. Easy to get to, light traffic, close to everything without being IN everything. FREE parking.
2. Funny, pleasant, easy going, and informative front desk. It was myself, the hubs, and our toddler. She suggested the courtyard for play space and other amenities that were mainly friendly… without being prompted!
3. The first thing I did when entering the room was test the AC since that was a source of contention. The hubs went for the unit controls whilst I went for the control panel. When he turned up the unit controls… noise. When I turned up the control panel… silence. The unit is set and you’re supposed to use the wall panel. I’m not sure if that was the issue for others but we didn’t have a problem with the AC noise.
4. The tornado sirens went off when we were there. The front desk had already informed us on procedure beforehand so we knew what to do when it happened. They brought us bottled water. She went to get blankets (it wasn’t even cold) when the all clear siren went off. I was thoroughly impressed with how the staff handled the situation.
5. We didn’t travel with our pet but another guest said that the hotel was the most pet friendly she had ever encountered. We saw three dogs total that evening.
The only thing that I had issue with, that if I had seen pictures it would have been okay, was that the bathrooms weren’t 100% enclosed. Is that a New York thing? If I had been traveling alone… no biggie. If it was a romantic weekend… definitely switch rooms! Nothing kills romance like hearing your partner peeing!
We loved this hotel and would definitely come back!

The front desk staff and restaurant staff were very nice, but the hotel was terrible. Had to change rooms after the first night because of loud AC unit. Second day, the entire floor smelled awful and our room wasn’t clean at 1 pm, third night it sounded like a vacuum cleaner was running all night. Another night of no sleep. No room service, even though they have a decent restaurant
I feel bad for the staff, who all seemed great.

My husband and I had a great time the three nights that we stayed. Gary from front desk was very friendly and helpful. Gary made sure that we were taken care of. The bed was super comfortable and we felt right at home. This will definitely be our hotel of choice when we visit again.

Nylo is one of the best spots in Plano. l have been there many times with friends for happy hours and events,
The staff is amazing, always helpful and nice,. Oh wait… let me correct that; the banquet, food and beverage staff and managers. I will get to that later.
Food wise is not super spectacular but is very good, honest food. Appetizers, drinks and entrees are delivered well. I would say fusion– some best sellers of Mexican, Thai, Italian are part of the menu. Prices are little bit on the high end, nothing outrageous
I love the décor and cool vibe overall, specially during the spring and summer. Pool area is awesome to hang out with friends. Everything is well thought décor wise, very modern. The meeting rooms are perfect, with the same vibe as the other areas.
Now what is not that good? The reception desk service (very sorry guys but c’mon…) if you want to talk to someone in the hotel, guest or employee, just find another way. Asking the reception for anything is painful. They are polite, it is just that they don’t respond to you properly, like if they don’t care. They are the heart of the hotel, since there is no concierge but seems that they have ADD, getting distracted and leaving you there without knowing if they are doing what you just asked/​requested or not.
Overall. highly recommended!

Not as good as expected. Novel and neat first night. I booked for entire week. After first night, I noticed since the rooms are concrete and pipes are exposed, you can hear every room around me all hours of the night taking showers. It was exhausting. they didn’t clean my room 1 night. I had to tell them the next morning to clean it so I didn’t have to go another day. When checking out, my bill had different charges for each night. First night was 125. 2^nd was 140.00. 3^rd and 4^th was 155.00 fifth was back down to 125.00. I have no clue why the cost changed but I didn’t know nor agree. I paid anyway.. beware. It was mostly clean and staff was friendly.

Have stayed here 3 times over the past 15 months. The price is really it’s only plus.
Staff are overly passive, to the point that service suffers. Last night will be the last time I stay here. Some recent marketing grad’s idea of a mixer occurring on one of the floors, bass thumping through concrete floors and walls. Calls to front desk fruitless. Staff was unwilling to investigate source and unwilling to offer anything more than excuses. Wrecked my sleep, I had to rise early. I stay in hotels while on business trips for the sole purpose of sleeping. I have zero interested in being rocked all night.
There is also no room service. And they removed the built-​in mini mart. So there is no longer any means to get refreshments on-​site when the restaurant/​bar is closed.
Nylo management: Too little attention paid to business travelers’ needs. My entire team used your hotel many times during this past year at my suggestion. In the future we will all stay elsewhere.

This was my second experience with Nylo Hotels. My partner and I spent one Saturday night here to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived no one was at the front desk so we had to wait 10 minutes. Unfortunately there was a party so parking is horrible. I think they should have additional spaces for times like this. We had a regular king room. The room was clean when we arrived. There were some damages in the room but didn’t bother me too much. It’s a very urban chic loft style hotel which I enjoyed. The room is smaller than your average hotel so keep that in mind. The bed was super comfy and I slept like a baby! The shower is super slippery because of the tile flooring so be careful and don’t end on the floor like me LOL. Overall we had a nice time. Location is great as well. I would recommend this hotel, just look at the pictures and research to make sure you will enjoy this style.

This is a WARNING. If you are intrigued by the modern industrial vibe of the hotel, i just want to say right now its not worth the hassle. As soon as we checked in, my coworker and I who was in town for a week long business trip had a very negative first impression of the front desk staff. They have a very laid back style of service which could be a bit off putting. when I got into my room it was very dark and you could clearly see that certain leisures and comforts have been sacrificed for style. The fixtures and overall furnitures didn’t seem very clean and there wasn’t a room fridge or microwave available.
Woke up multiple times at the middle of the night due to the extremely noisy a/​c unit which ultimately lead to moving rooms the following day. Found out that my coworker had to request replacement keys multiple times throughout out entire stay.
A couple of other mishaps throughout the week but i think iv said enough. Major overhaul needed for this hotel in my opinion.

Very pleasant, mod and hip place to stay in TX. Several locations. Only downside for me was a disengaged front desk guy who almost exuded «you’re over 45
so you shouldn’t be here» vibes.
Bite me. I’d still return.

Less than 3 mins from Capital One HQ, perfect for my client meetings.
The hotels are loft-​style with industrial, modern-​ish décor. Very simple setup, however no microwave or mini fridge available. The rooms have ample space with a small couch and a large shower. Mirrors show some age and wear, though, slightly rusty. Beds are comfortable, with fluffy pillows.
The hotel has a small gym, but lighting is very dim and terrible — hard to read a book while on the treadmill. And since the windows to the gym open up to the outside sidewalk, it’s kinda creepy for people to walk by and peer in while you’re getting your workout in.
Restaurant has a breakfast buffet for the AM. One of the front desk guys was thoughtful enough to give us two free breakfast passes (+3 pts!).
I haven’t had a chance to dine at the hotel bar or restaurant, but they seem to have a daily Happy Hour special, with typical drink prices.
I do like the swing set in the lobby though :)

This review is for the hotel restaurant LOCL since I have not stayed at the hotel itself. This is actually my second time at NYLO and it has changed since the first time I visited. The décor, in my opinion, was downgraded and the ambiance has changed. There were kids running around the restaurant in swim suits next to our table.
The first time I visited it was for the nightlife. I think there used to be a DJ and it was actually a really nice place to get together with your friends by the pool or indoors and have a few drinks. The second time was to have dinner and drinks for a friend’s birthday. When I checked in on Unilocal I noticed that there was an offer for buy one entrée get the second one for free so you know I used that bad boy!
We had a table of about 10 so we ordered a variety of dishes to share. Among the dishes were: panko breaded calimari, lump blue crab cakes, duck confit flat bread, basil brie en croute, grilled ahi tuna salad, juniper encrusted rack of lamb, mahi mahi, bone-​in ribeye, steak filet, gouda mac & cheese, and chicken piccata. I was quite disappointed, really, with the flavors of a majority of the dishes. The only dishes that really stuck out as a winner is the bone-​in ribeye and mac and cheese. The other dishes either lacked sufficient flavors, were overcooked, or were really salty. A few examples: the ahi tuna salad was not dressed well enough and the tuna was overcooked even though we asked for it to be lightly seared. The brie en croute did not ooze when it was cut into. My friends enjoyed it more than I did. The calamari was overcooked and was too chewy. The red sauce appeared to have come straight out of a bottle of mae ploy chicken sauce. We of course, ordered drinks as well. Only one of my friends had issues with how her drinks were made. Our waitress was sweet. However, I think there were only two servers the night we were there so the service was not as quick as it could have been. We had to ask several times for our drinks to be refilled.

Look of hotel is fun but it feels like a college dorm. The rooms are very small. Ice machines are only available on 2 of the 5 floors. Bathrooms are open concept with little privacy. Halls are narrow and one of the two elevators barely holds three people. Very few pillows for bed so bringing your own is a must. Not enough parking available and no drop-​off or loading zone. Staff were friendly and interior design was fantastic. It’s very close to shopping and convenient access.

I have been here about 15 times over the last 7 years. I will say I recently went back and a lot has changed. It used to be a great spot for adults to gather and have a good time. This last weekend I noticed tons of children at the «lounge» pool. It was really weird to see this while trying to enjoy dinner on the patio. It was already 10:30pm and not what I expected on a Saturday night to hear screaming kids.
I think this spot needs to figure out who they are targeting and how to properly market it. The food on the menu needs work as I was not impressed as well as others in our group. Service was sub par and again now just a confusing atmosphere.

I really like the industrial design of the rooms. Room was clean.
Bar is set up nicely with good food. Breakfast is good.
The gym isn’t the greatest thing in the world, but it gets the job done.
Parking is free. Check in and out was smooth.

One word: Rad!
This place made me feel like I was in Chelsea or better yet Brooklyn, New York. The brick, fresh white linens, modern look was just what I needed to escape from the south.
NYLO is great! The Bar is better, the peeps are friendly.

Wife and I walked in to check in at around 11 pm but there was a couple in front of us that were really pissed about the service and angrily walked off.
Another couple waiting in front of us was also complaining asking to speak to a manager.
Really bad first impression hearing all the complaints from all the customers in front of us being our first time here. It took us at least 30 minutes to get to the one guy that was working the front desk.
We we’re told they were oversold after waiting for all that time to check-​in and were sent to another hotel.
* updated review to a 3 star since the manager came back to apologize for the inconvenience of relocating to another hotel and gave us $ 10 each worth of food and drink coupons.

Modern Hipster marries Industrial Architect and the NYLO Hotel is born. The hotel room walls and floors are made of polished concrete, exposed pipes line the ceiling, and the door to the bathroom is a large steel slider. The curtains strategically hung on the sidewalls next to the platform bed give the illusion of a more spacious room. The television is mounted to the wall tucked out of the way, all in line with the space saving design of the room.
The Front Desk staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small area at the front desk with snacks and beverages, although lacking in sundries. I was able to borrow an umbrella when unexpected rain fell during my trip, saving me from showing up to a meeting unkempt.
The Hotel does not have room service, there is a full service bar and restaurant downstairs, open until 10 PM. Blessings, the bartender, greets every woman with the name Beautiful and the gentlemen as Boss. The service is fantastic and personal.
I look forward to visiting again soon and enjoying the pool as well as the lounge.

This place was recommended to us as being really nice and close to where our meetings were taking place. The part of the recommendation about location was very accurate. We were only about 5 minutes away.
