Ive been coming here for years and will always choose this over uncle julios or pappasitos every time. The service is always outstanding, its a very inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The chips and salsa are great, you really cant go wrong with anything here my favorites are the sampler platter and chicken fajitas, puffed tacos are also unique and delicious. No better way to top your meal off than with a frozen margarita which is the best in all of dallas!

Service is great. Salsa is one of my favorites. I particularly like that they leave you a pitcher to refill as needed. The food is good solid Tex-Mex; tortilla soup, enchiladas, fajitas. All of it is great. My favorite place for lunch.

If you look around Unilocal much, you’ll notice it’s hard to find Mexican restaurants or BBQ restaurants with solid reviews. Nonetheless, many Texans eat both monthly, at least. So what gives? All I can figure is that personal preference weighs heavily with both of these favorite types of food. So I often lament that I can’t find a Mexican restaurant with the«total package». One will have stellar chips and salsa(really a must) but mediocre food, another will have great beans, yeah you read right, but terrible chips and salsa. Then take the margarita situation… I’m telling you, if one restaurant could get all of these components working, my head might explode. So having said all of that… Ojedas is known for their super potent margaritas. They make a Mambo Taxi feel like a juice box. You can have 2 meltdowns, and that’s plenty, more than plenty for a lightweight. And they are also known for their mole enchiladas and beans. No doubt, those beans are full of bacon drippings; in fact, they have a «double bean» option with more bacon goodness(I’ve never gone there… just can’t). As others have noted, the chips and salsa are abysmal, which is a shame. You can ask for their mild salsa and get a fresher, not in a jug, variety, but it’s a slight improvement. The brisket tacos are good, too. So yeah, people come here for the drinks. The one in Dallas is packed on Friday and Saturday, full of people ready to get their drank on… So there you have it. If anyone finds the total package in Mexican food, I’d love to hear about it. I haven’t seen it yet.

Just moving to the area I was looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant. All I can say is that this place is a joke and overpriced. I love Mexican food and usually save leftovers. I couldn’t even finish my sour cream and chicken enchiladas. They were raved about on Unilocal so I figured why not. I don’t know maybe something is wrong with me or the people in this area don’t have taste buds. My roommate ordered nachos with refried beans and chicken. It came out in like 5 minutes and looked as if it were made in the microwave. They also looked like they fried some beans on a pan and put them on top. On top of that they charged me over 11 dollars for 7 or 8 chips. A huge joke. I’ve had better nachos from taco bell. I’ll stay home next time. The service was decent and this was a Friday night so it was busy. Stay away from this over priced place.

My wife and I have been enjoying the Ojedas in Plano since it opened nearly a decade ago. Love the tortilla soup or enchiladas. The salsa is unique and while it’s not my favorite by itself, it’s still good — especially when mixed with the off the menu free mild salsa! Food is consistent, servers and management are pleasant, and when we need to we can get in and out pretty quick.

Service: Great Atmosphere: Fun/Relaxing, authentic, well decorated I’ve been several times and live close by. The food & drinks are average. Prices very reasonable. The salsa recipe is absolutely dreadful. So bad that we avoid eating here most of the time. At first I thought I may have gotten a bad batch, or there was some kind of mistake in the kitchen, but it has been consistently bad every time. This is disappointing because I WANT to like this place and live very close. It tastes like it’s half vinegar! I suggest that they FRESH peppers(not pickled!!!) to solve this issue.

Food was ok. They seem to have a loyal following, but I have had much better Mexican food for the same or better price around the corner. The host/manager is the only reason I feel they deserve more than two stars. He was very attentive and let us know when to expect a table when we called ahead and when we arrived. I think the fact that my waitress had a large table played a role in why my service was sub par. She was very nice but pretty darn slow. Since I live close by I will give it another try and hope for a better experience service and food wise.

Mmm, this place is great! Friendly service, bottomless chips and salsa, and tasty food… unfortunate a bit expensive, went there with a 2 of my friends and it cost us $ 60 for the three of us, just three entrees, three drinks… still wondering if maybe they charged us wrong because it was 20~30 $ more than we expected.

Mediocre food. Hot sauce tastes like spicy V8. Chicken flautas were tough. Won’t eat here again.

Returned after many years. Surprised at large crowd for lunch Sun Jan 2015. Wait staff was hustling to take care of everyone. Prompt seating and service. Worth another visit only sooner. In business since 1969 which says a lot considering the all the other choices over the years in Plano.

For years I’ve been coming here just for their tortilla soup. It must have some sort of healing properties or something! I have since moved over an hour out of town but whenever me, or anyone in my family gets sick, I come here to pick up some of this awesome soup. As for everything else, well I don’t really care for the food or the salsa at all. The salsa is extremely hot and has a very strong taste of vinegar.

Right off the bat we sat down, we are brought out a basket of chips and im sitting there for five minutes thinking to myself«are they going to bring us salsa with those or what??» Oh but the salsa was already there. Salsa in a plastic jar equivalent to what Ihop puts their pancake syrup in. and it just looks gross, I’m not a germaphobe but I didn’t really want to touch that thing. The salsa was hot but flavorless. The chips were not good. I ordered a coke, I was brought a diet coke. We were off to a good start… I ordered some platter with a chili relleno, sour cream chicken enchilada and a puff taco. the puff taco was kinda cute to look at, but not easy to eat. the rest of the food was pretty blek. I LOVE cheese. I am always wondering what can I get that has tons of cheese. but these people take it to another level. I couldn’t even see my enchilada or chili relleno underneath the ten pounds of melted cheese, and it completely drowned out whatever flavor there may have been. Sometimes, less is more. and this is definitely the case here. The 2 cheese enchilada plate was either $ 11 or $ 12. At an extremely casual tex-mex restaurant. I don’t understand how they could charge more than even $ 8 for what my bf got. Taco Cabana does a better job for a lot cheaper. I did not care for the environment either, the seating arrangement is weird. the booth we were seated as was in a corner but there was still a giant cut out in the wall so you see the people on the other side of you. the main reason i like a booth is because I don’t like feeling like there are people surrounding me. there was no escaping it! It took forever to get our check, and then the check was hand written where I couldn’t even make it out, and the lady wouldn’t even hand it to me. she just kinda showed it to me, staring at me as i glanced over the scribbles and was wanting me to directly hand her my card without saying a single word to me the whole time, it was very awkward. I definitely will not ever be going back.

Our first time here for lunch today. Excellent service, fair prices and good food. They have a daily lunch special for $ 6.50. My wife and I both enjoyed our Monday Special. My only regret is that we live several miles away. If it were closer we would certainly be regulars. If you have not been here, check it out. I think you will like it!

I’ve been back a few more times and all I can say is this place is certainly now my favorite. Drinks are great, food is even better, and here’s a small thing but it makes the place cool. The manager remembers everybody… a small thing. Yeah. Cool and fun… Definitely. Try the Enchilada de Fajita or the Guiso… Simply outstanding.
