Omaira herself does phenomenal work when it comes to eyebrow threading. I followed her here when she opened her own salon after working at another one. The price is so cheap, used to be $ 4 in the past but now it has gone up to $ 5. I always pay cash so I don’t know if they charge more for credit card but I do know their policy is cash only for under $ 10 payments. I’ve gotten facials here before too and they’re really well done plus the price is very nice. I think I paid $ 30 for facials. I take one star away because her assistants are all over the place. Some of them don’t do great work so now I just wait for Omaira to do my eyebrows.

The owner of this salon does not listen! She messed my eyebrows up pretty badly so I’m pretty pissed. I had asked for eyebrow threading and ahead had asked her to keep them thick and please just make sure bother eyebrows are even with eachother. Instead, I got some hot mess drag queen eyebrows. All I needed was some bad blue shadow, wig and sharpie to complete the look. My eyebrows were SOOOO thin when I had precisely asked her to keep them thick. Not only that, but both eyebrows were so different from eachother… And she had a lot of eyebrow to work with… It shouldn’t have been a problem. Ugh. When I brought up how thin they were she just tried to justify the reason behind why she made them thin instead of acknowledging the fact that she had not done what I had asked for. Usually I don’t ever have a problem with this salon but I will NOT be returning. Not only that but clearly I was upset, she did not apologize or offer to take off the charge for the eyebrows. Anybody who has tried to grow out their eyebrows knows how much of a pain it is. It takes forever and you go through some major awkward phases. I don’t want to go through that again. The only reason I’m giving this salon 2 stars is bc the last time I went to the salon, her assistant did a pretty good job(had some stray hairs still). I didn’t realize she couldn’t charge my amount due to credit card limits and that I had needed to pay cash. She let me leave and just said to pay when I came back. Of course I did, but that was very nice of her.

So it was a Sunday and my regular salon was closed and I needed a get my eyebrows done, so went to this salon. Saima(Owner’s assistant) started threading my eyebrows. She was done quickly. I looked in the mirror and thought I could go a little thinner and told her if she could thin it a little. The owner Omaira who was close by said next time you should tell her in the beginning itself so that she does not waste time. How in the world am I supposed to indicate how thin I want it unless I see what she has done? Anyways, after she was done I pointed out to her that she had missed a few hair. Saima, without even looking, hurriedly threaded the area I was pointing to. When I pointed out that the hair was still there, the owner Omaira indicated that she would do it and came by and quickly did her stuff. I was still not happy and when she went to another customer, Saima came back again and vigorously started threading the area causing some nicks. At this point I was nervous that she may make a mess and asked her to stop. It was obvious that these people expected customers to accept whatever they dish out and not question their work. I just paid and walked out. In the car I noticed that the area was bleeding where she had threaded. There are better salons who will listen to your concerns. Stay away from this place if you want to save your face from nicks and bruises and want to be treated better. To the owner, better change the arrogant attitude you and your employees have. When customers pay, they expect the work to be done well and to be treated right. Learn from American shops about Customer service.

She’s the only place I’m comfortable going to. I love the owner – she’s so gentle and kind. She is concerned if anything feels wrong. Always reasonable price. She’ll take care of you. I feel very safe in her hands. Some of her assistants aren’t as great, though, so I always go to the owner herself.

I am shocked to hear about the experience of the first reviewer. My experience at Omaira has been completely different than hers. I think she is a very pleasant and a friendly lady. Not only their services are great, but their salon is extremely neat and hygienic as compared to other threading salons I’ve been to. And I’ve seen her dealing with people of other ethnicities and I didn’t find it anything like the first reviewer said. Yes, the threading costs $ 4 only and I generally pay couple of dollars as tip. It is shocking to hear that she charged different rates from different people. That does not sound like her at all. I’ve always paid cash, so I’m not sure if the credit card paying customers have to pay a dollar extra. She has facials ranging from $ 20/$ 25 to $ 50 and sometimes she runs specials on $ 50 ones at half off. I think it’s a great deal and I’m looking forward to getting one done SOON!

Unethical and Prejudice: If you are white, stay away from Omaira’s Salon. I was referred to Omaira by two friends; neither are my race – white. They both informed me of her quality $ 4 eyebrow threading service. I sent my friend/roommate there on Friday, September 24, who is black, and she confirmed that the price is $ 4. I couldn’t believe it – quality service for $ 4! I went the next day and after my services, she told me, «That will be $ 5.» I was confused about the $ 1 extra but I paid it anyway. After some research and talking to my friends, she charged them all $ 4, with one who paid with a credit card, but she charged me $ 5. At this point, it is not about the $ 1, it is principle. I returned for the same service Saturday, October 23. I observe that the customer before me was charged $ 4 for her eyebrows. After my service, I go to the check out counter and she again says, before I pull my wallet out of my purse, «That will be $ 5.» I asked her why she charges me $ 5, but charges everyone else $ 4. I show her my receipt from September 25 and I bring to her attention that I am forced to believe she charges me more because I’m white. Within the 10 minute argument, most of the talking done by me disputing her lies, she gave me the following contradicting lies/excuses: 1) she always charges $ 5 when a customer uses a credit card; 2) she changes her threading prices every 3 to 4 weeks from $ 4 to $ 5 and changes them back; 3) she charges her usual customers $ 4, new clients $ 5; and her closing argument: 4) it’s her salon, she can charge whatever she wants, when she wants, and to whom she wants, although, she does not see race. After my first experience, I had 3 friends call her salon to ask her the price for eyebrow threading. Each time the answer was $ 4. On both of my visits, she did not know which form of payment I was using before she said $ 5 and my friend/roommate charged $ 4 to her card on her visit. She could have kept me as a customer and a customer who refers clients for her if she just admitted the mistake. She is obviously aware of the U.S. culture stereotypes and hopes to profit from them.
