Parker Custer Tire and Service

Well, the Unilocal reviews don’t lie (at least the positive ones). A trustworthy car shop with a bit of personality.
I went in here last month to get my brakes checked. Dealership said I should get new pads…$ 250. The typical fear tactics to get you to overpay. I don’t know much about car care, but I know when I’m overpaying for something I could get cheaper elsewhere. I use my dealership to get free checks and oil changes. When I need work done, I go elsewhere.
I was looking for a new place. The guy I usually go to for «major» work is out in Mesquite, so I didn’t feel like going all the way out there. I stumbled on some Unilocal reviews that pointed me here plus they had the check in offers. Sounded good!
(FYI, these check in offers are outdated and aren’t typically honored. ALWAYS check with the establishment first before purchasing)
So when I asked about the check in offer before paying for it on Unilocal,they said they don’t do it anymore and they’ve been trying to get Unilocal to remove it. Totally understandable. This wasn’t a deal breaker. But then came the deal MAKER… the owner offered to take $ 15 off (the Unilocal offer was $ 30) just for convenience. Nice!
When they checked out my car? They flushed the break fluids as asked but no break pads. I specifically asked for this and wondered why they didn’t do it. They said my pads were actually fine and would last me well until my next oil change. They made sure NOT to get me to pay for something I didn’t need and even double checked just to make sure.
All of the workers there were personable and nice. They made idle conversation with me and treated me as I assume they would want to be treated if they were in my shoes. Crazy how that’s rare these days…
The owner even went out of his way after talking with me to offer me a discount card for future services.
Will I be coming back to use it? You bet I am. I’m just a couple thousand miles until that oil change from doing so.

This shop is under new owners. Be warned!
I have been using Parker Custer service shop for the 8 years I have lived in Plano. Today was a the last time I will ever use this shop for anything again!
Engine light was on, dropped my F150 off with Wayne Anderson General Manager, five hours later he called to inform me he didn’t realize his tech hadn’t even looked at the truck yet & he would need to keep it over night, I told him I’d take it somewhere else to be repaired, so he offered me half off the diagnostic fee of 105.00 that’s great!
Day two– spoke with AbelTalamantez Service Manager, he said there was no oil in the engine at all & no coolant, this surprised me because I was not due for an oil change for another 1000 miles and Parker Custer tire has done every oil change & service on the vehicle for the last 8 yrs. he would need to order parts & keep it over night again.
I picked up the truck $ 1200.31 repair bill, pulled out of the lot & the engine light came on!
Made a u turn back to shop and they forgot to connect a wire under the hood.
Abel had a tech come connect the wire.
Left the shop thinking everything was okay.
About an hour later ran to the store and guess what? Yep engine light back on.
I called Able brought the truck back to the shop & waited about 30 minutes while they figured out that the tech forgot a gasket! $ 1200 bucks folks!!! Been using this shop for 8 years!!!
Spoke to the owner Sherrie Gentry, she was dismissive, no apologies, nothing. They could have cared less but she did offer me a ride home. No thanks! Just wanted my truck repaired properly the first time. Feel free to remove my contact info from your system. I will never go back to this shop again after 8 yrs. I have also contacted Goodyear Corporate headquarters, and will make it my mission to tell at least three people a day that Garrett doesn’t work there anymore, the new owners don’t care about you, your time or your safety, and employ techs who forget parts, wires & gaskets!

Fast, honest, reasonably priced service. I’ve taken my cars to Parker Custer Tire and Service for 15 years now and have never had a bad experience. They are the best in the area and I have happily recommended them to all of my friends.

I’ve always had great service here. It’s worth the drive, for me, to get quality service.

I’ve been bringing, y vehicles to Parker Custer Goodyear for over ten years. Always timely repairs. Now my daughter, aunt and dad and next door neighbors are all customers! We love that it’s privately owned and we love bringing our dog because she gets a treat every time. They also do great work and the same people work there from when I started going.

I have my fleet vehicles serviced there for the oil changes and tires. I have been doing business there for ten years. I have always had prompt service and fair pricing. Garrett and Able do a great job getting my fleet vehicles turned around fast. I have tried other places in town to try and save $ 5-​$ 10, but I was never satisfied with the service. Or, I was told that after an oil change I needed a couple hundred bucks worth of work. I appreciate the honesty for the extra $ 5.

I will never go here again. It has taken over an hour to change one tire on my car. The guy at the desk cannot look at me in my eyes because he knows that charging me 150.00 for one tire is too much money. Customer service here is not good. I regret that I chose to come here.
