I kept reading all the reviews about the epic cheese fries so I had to try them. I have to say they were pretty perfect. We didn’t get bacon on them but we ordered a side of chili and poured that on top. Oh my, they were yummy. I loved the seasoning they sprinkle on top too. We also ordered burgers and they were cooked to perfection also. I love how they have the option of a ¼ lb or ½ lb burger cause I like a smaller burger. The service was crazy good. I have never seen a staff so on top of it. Bravo snuffers!

Snuffer’s nachos are my all time favorite. Get the marinated chicken, no beans extra peppers. DELISH!

Come for the cheese fries… stay for the burgers… return for the atmosphere. Absolutely HOPPING on a Friday night, so recommend getting here before 6:30pm and settle in and enjoy that cheesy goodness! Also, very cool table set-ups for large groups, so bring a bunch and share the fries!

Wow. I got served a RAW burger here last night. Not good. Apparently this location is closing on March 10, 2014 according to the manager on duty who also offered no apology for the raw burger. Shut her down. This place has gone way way way downhill!

LOL — Cheese Fries — that is all. Go and get them — they are like crack! And last we were there they had $ 1 bud light mini beers. Really liked the bar — nice and old school looking. Just go — God, those cheese fries — stupid crack.

Snuffer’s is a great spot if your in the mood for a juicy burger — most of my friends love coming here. I would come here with friends during the summer, every now and then. Just a warning about my bias. I’m not a huge burger person, so please take my review with a grain of salt. Every time we come here, we end up ordering a burger per person and and fries to share. While some of my friends prefer the fries at the same time as the burgers, I rather get them before. This way you have some, they to snack on while the burgers are cooking and you get to eat everything just as it comes out of the kitchen. A small is definitely big enough to share with two or three people. The cheese fries with jalapeños and chives are a crowd pleaser. Everybody will enjoy them, but personally, I find it just a tough to have more than a bite. I prefer the fried mushrooms or pickles. I can never seem to get enough. If you can’t decide, the waiter may even let you do half mushrooms, half pickles. I used to get the Pizza burger but they stopped making it. My new go-to is the jalapeño burger. It’s just spicy enough to make an ordinary burger interesting. One thing I do like about this place is that every burger can be made with a veggie or turkey patty instead. Service is usually always decent. The waiters are attentive and pretty helpful with suggestions. In conclusion, while I wouldn’t be the first to suggest this place for lunch, I wouldn’t refuse coming here if a friend really wanted to stop by.

Snuffer’s is a Dallas institution of sorts. They have several locations in the area now, but I used to live at the one on Lower Greenville with friends before going to all the bars and clubs in my younger years. :) Always go to this Snuffer’s when I stay in Plano while in DFW area b/c it’s my chance to «get my fix.» Good burgers — they now offer a ¼ lb(in addition to traditional ½ lb-er), but it doesn’t come on poppy seed bun which is one of the things that makes Snuffer’s burgers so good. The service here is meh ok. Hit or miss. I would give 5 stars for this location, but for some reason the burgers just aren’t as good as the ones from Greenville Ave. I dunno. MUST get the cheddar fries with bacon, chives, and japs… the BEST! FULLYLOADED!(See my pic) Comes in 3 different sizes. The small is PLENTY for 2 if you’re both ordering burgers. Seriously, these will be the best you’ve ever had. Based on cheddar fries alone I would give 5+ stars. Every bit worth the guilty indulgence!

I go here for an above average burger. The fries are good, but not as crispy as I’d like. Service is good. I usually get the iced tea. A good lunch spot.

I’ve been going to Snuffer’s for 25 years now. I’ve been to all the locations and have never had a bad experience. The burgers are great and actually cooked to order. The cheese fries are the best around. If you go here and don’t have the cheese fries, you are cheating yourself! The staff is friendly for the most part and usually pays good attention to your drink refills. If you order cheese fries and an entrée, make sure to tell them you want the fries out first or they will bring both at the same time and one item will be getting cold while you are eating the other. It would seem common sense that the staff shouldn’t let this happen, but it does. That being said. It’s great food that is terrible for you, but oh so worth it!

We came to Snuffer’s on the last day of school to celebrate the start of summer vacation(we, being teachers, not students). I love the divey feeling although it is a restaurant in Plano, TX and they had okay drinks. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita, but it was not very frozen. We shared two large orders of cheese fries, which were delicious and the reason I really wanted to go! We also had an order of nachos, which were AMAZING! I think I would go back for the nachos next time more so than the cheese fries. We had a spectacular waitress and I wish I could remember her name. She was very attentive and I never saw the bottom of my drink. All and all, I had an excellent experience and will definitely be back.

The cheese fries are the best in town. I love them! I could eat them for my meal. You have to get them fully loaded, I think it should be a sin if you do not. The burgers are very good, the spicy chicken salad is one of my favorites. I have been there many times in the past few months and never has poor service. They are great. The place is very child friendly and go out of their way to make your child happy. It can get pretty noisy in the front room that has the larger booths, but it is nothing a nice ice cold beer cannot fix. I recommend this place for anyone that wants to throw their diet to the wind and want some good food.

Snuffer’s has a limited menu, but it makes its few signature dishes very well. You have to get a burger at Snuffer’s, and a ¼ lb is just the right size. Snuffer’s is also well-known for its cheese fries, which you can get loaded up with bacon, chives, jalapenos, and a homemade Ranch. I wish the fries were more customizable though; the only options are to have your fries just with cheese or with all of the toppings. Be careful what size you order; the small is pretty big and can feed 2 – 3 people. The restaurant is loud and lively with slow waiters, but it would be a nice place to go if you wanted to watch a game(TVs everywhere). Very accommodating for large groups. I was in my happy place because I could order sweet tea and not have to put in the sugar myself. I might be a diva.

Hands down the best burger in Dallas! The bacon blue cheesburger cannot be beaten by anyone. They are generous with both the bacon as well as the blue cheese. The burger is always cooked to perfection! These guys really know what they are doing. The juice from the burger runs down your hand. They do not dry them out like Maple Motor does or other high end burger joints seem to do. The cheese fries are also amazing! Get them fully loaded and they will also deliver them with all the stuff on the side. About 3 – 4 people can easily share one order. These are true greatness. I usually end up bringing some of these home as they give you so much and it’s all way too good to throw away. Even my picky kids love the food here. Their $ 5.99 lunch special is a true bargain!

Food — 4⁄5 Ambiance — 4⁄5 Price — 3⁄5 Service — 2⁄5(Just one waiter. I’m sure others are fine) The cheese fries are apparently what folks come here for… and they were tasty but I’ve had better. They should probably come with more options so you can truly customize your cheese fry experience. The ranch that comes with is pretty tasty… I’m told they make it themselves. The fried jalapeño burger was pretty much amazing. Wish I hadn’t had cheese fries before this was served! ¼ pound is more than enough food. Wouldn’t change a thing about this burger. The waiter noted that all their burgers come medium rare. What the actual funk? That’s really strange. They allow you to change temps but medium rare is an awfully stupid temp to cook your burgers to by default! Our water was pretty much terrible. While nice enough and pleasant… he was the slowest thing I’ve ever seen and the place wasn’t exactly packed. We were done with our cheese fries entirely before he realized that we wanted to order food. At least he did separate checks for our party of 7. The place is decorated cute enough. Things were clean and they had cute old timey pictures hung all over the walls. Price-wise it’s pretty average. Nothing to complain about really but not super cheap or anything. Burgers don’t come with fries… you’re expected to order your own which I suppose makes sense given that the place is known for their cheese fries. This location is NOT closing but we read that other locations around the city are due to bankruptcy. This is supposed to be one of two that is staying open.

So many places to get this same food in town now that it’s no longer a big deal who made the first cheese fries. Snuffers has stood still when others have moved forward with the same thing for less. Just another burger joint…

Yep, that’s right I’m in love… with the fried jalapeño burger, the first bite of it was unforgettable. Normally I’m not too into jalapeño, but this is probably the only exception that I’ll make. :-) I was advised to also get the fries, they were great but to me it did not top the burger. I loved the ambiance of the place, the tables and chairs made it look like almost traditional pub-like place. Fried jalapeño burger, I’ll be coming back for you for some more. :D

Snuffers is practically a Dallas institution. The Plano location hasn’t been open as many years, but I’m so glad they are! They are not the fanciest burger place, but they are one of the best and their service is always worth coming back for. What to order: Cheese fries — TRUSTME. I think potatoes strive to become cheddar fries at Snuffers. The cheese to fry ratio is about 50⁄50 and they come with optional toppings such as bacon, chives, and jalapenos. Burgers are good — I’ve had several and they are messy, but what I love the best is that they will cook the patties medium to medium-rare. That’s how a burger should be. Hot dog was good — I would recommend trying it the«traditional» way with the burger bun. Hot dog bun was just too much bun for my taste. Hot dog is traditionally served with cheese and chili — good to quite good. Bottom line: if you’re craving a burger and especially cheese fries with a side of friendly servers, go there!

You know what you’re getting when you come here! I was pretty satisfied with my burger, and definitely enjoyed the happy hour specials on our drinks(margaritas and beers), but hubby was very disappointed by the naked chicken strips he got. Since the last time we went to a Snuffer’s it seems like they decreased the number of strips they provide by half, and they didn’t lower the price with it. He was pretty bummed because he’s a big guy and that just wasn’t filling. It honestly looked like a child’s portion, which was sad. That combined with the average food that you get at chain restaurants like this, made me relatively unimpressed, it’s not their fault they’re a chain, so I’ll still give them three stars, because I agree with others that their cheesefries are heart attackishly delicious.

One of my favorite burgers around. The Green Chili burger is awesome! I love the diced lettuce on their burgers, which is a bit different than most places. If that burger wasn’t enough– the loaded fries are world class. Their onion«rings» are more like flower pedals and oh so fresh/tasty. It’s not the most extensive menu in the world, but it’s all very good– large portions and not on the expensive side. One thing that really burned me– was when they switched from Coke to Pepsi. They had the cleanest soda lines with the perfect balance of soda to carbonation… I know, crazy love for Diet Coke. but it was good. Now they have Pepsi products– that’ll cost you a star fellas. Other than that, this place gets 2 enthusiastic thumbs up from me!

What’s in a name? A lot. Especially at a place called«Snuffers.» Now, from what I understand, the name is related to the guy who owns this regional chain. But from what I experienced, the name is based on what the food will do to you if you eat here too often. Specifically, the cheese fries. There is this all-too-Texas item on the menu called«cheese fries.» Not your regular pile-of-fries-with-some-cheese-on-top. No, this here artery-destroyer is a brick of melted cheese with some fries suspended in the middle. Okay, well, not a brick, but more of a lake. It’s like when you make a Jell-o with some fruit bits in the middle… but with cheese. A small size cheese fries allegedly has 1,800 calories in it. That’s about as many calories as an average person of average size should eat in an entire day. And it’s in an appetizer. But enough about those sinfully tasty cheezy heart-stoppers. The rest of Snuffers is what you’d expect out of your average suburban theme restaurant experience… The menu consists of mostly burgers, sandwiches and the like. They have a full bar but no Lone Star?! The sodas come in 1-liter cups(which I think equates to about 16 packets of sugar per?) and the chips are fresh made. In all, the food is fairly tasty… what you’d expect from a place of this caliber. The burger was okay, the cheese fries were delicious in a «did I really just eat that?» kind of way. The service is plenty friendly as well. I could definitely dine here again, but with items like those cheese fries in play, my arteries would likely be snuffed out in no time.
