Dr. Lacombe is very personable, warming, welcoming and efficient in her work. Though I do dislike these appointments I have never been uncomfortable with her. I followed her from her previous office because she is great at what she does. The staff is amazingly friendly and I am completely satisfied with my visit.

I was literally brought to tears of gratitude during my first visit as it became clear to me that Dr. Lacombe was listening to me, not rushing, hearing my concerns and developing a plan with me to figure out what might be going on with my body as my husband and I try to get pregnant. She was compassionate and concerned with my wholistic health, asking questions and making recommendations about things that I had not even brought up yet. I moved to FL a year ago and have been trying to find an OBGYN with whom I’m comfortable and am so grateful to have found Dr. Lacombe.

I got pregnant with my second child and really wanted a lady doctor. With the best intentions I came across Dr. Lacome’s name. The Miramar location was something else that interested me. My high hopes were quickly shattered when even a few of the front desk staff were rude to me. Later on I came to find out my doctor was no better. During a visit, she informed me that my Pap smear showed unusual results in the coldest most insensitive matter. At the time I was nearly 28 weeks pregnant and thought that maybe I was being over sensitive and that the sarcastic, aggravated attitude coming from her was in my mind. She was very dismissive of the results and told me to wait until I give birth for further analysis. As it is I have a history of premature labor, early on she’d asked me to let her know when I was 15 weeks pregnant to begin shots that would help prevent this from happening again, but I could not start them due to the outrageous insurance cost. Then I had a scare: I lost my mucus plug. I wasn’t sure if it was exactly that at first, though. I thought it was normal fluids from being pregnant. A few days later while reading something online I realized it could be something serious. Worried, I called Dr. Lacome. I reached her on her day off and, once again, she was rude and sounded bothered and aggravated. Over the phone, she said she didn’t understand and that she could do nothing for me regarding something that happened 3 days ago. She then ordered me to the hospital. I was released and told nothing was wrong, to just drink plenty of water and not to have sexual intercourse. At my next doctors visit I was to be checked for the abnormal cells found in my cervix as she wanted to see them through a magnifying glass. Instead, she checked and told me she found that my cervix was 1 cm dilated. She spoke nothing of the cells that she had me so worried over. It wasn’t until then that she mentioned a more affordable injection, which I went and got right away. The first shot I received, administered by a nurse, was given to me on my sciatic nerve. I’ve been limping ever since. When I told Dr. Lacome she started up again with her aggravated attitude. She went so far as throwing my chart and telling me to not take the shot then. She had no concern for my hip and was just plain unprofessional. I suggested to try the shot one last time in hopes that it wouldn’t mess me up and that I could keep taking precautions it didn’t even come from her. She then called in the same exact nurse that gave me the first shot. Luckily, she got it right that time. Fed up with how Dr. Lacome has treated me, I decided to change doctors in the same office keeping my fingers crossed that he’ll be different. Unfortunately your actual doctor isn’t always the one to deliver your baby, it’s the doctor on call so there’s a chance it will be Dr. Lacome. I’m really hoping it’s not. As a patient, you look to your doctor for help and support. I simply can’t understand why she would even pursue a field where she’s in a position to help others as she has an awful temper and zero people skills. I wouldn’t recommend her to my worst enemy – no expecting mother should be treated the way that she treated me.

I have been a long time patient for Dr, Lacomb I would say almost 7 years. She has delivered both of my doctors and I completely trust her! I too have referred friends and family to her office and have also met with Dr Christie and Dr Rivas. Everyone I have encountered have been true professionals from the receptionist to the medical record keeper and Robin in the Ultrasounds. Yes I agree sometimes the wait is more than I would prefer and I believe this is due to over booking but I think that is almost the norm in the medical industry. I must say though my comfort level and trust with Dr Lacomb is greater than my impatience during waiting time.

So I agree with the other review about how Dr. Lacombe’s office is clean. However, this is referring to her office at the Memorial Hospital in Miramar. Her other office is difficult to find and not as clean. I give her an extremely low rating because I went to see her and was given a wrong diagnosis. She did not explain to me thoroughly my condition and did not seem too sympathetic nor empathetic. I was stressed for months because of her wrong diagnosis. When I went to another doctor, two others one, and got all my tests redone… I came back negative. Even the other two doctors could not understand why my initial tests showed positive, as Dr. Lacombe had stated. I was extremely distraught and frustrated and depressed. All of these emotions could have been easily avoided if Dr. Lacombe was more precise and thorough on her diagnosis.
Also, my other complaint is how she runs her staff and the fees that were charged. Or should I say, hidden fees. I had insurance, which covered a portion of the tests and exams, and I even paid out of my own pocket for whatever was not covered. And lets say that was not cheap. Months after my visits to Dr. Lacombe’s office, I get more medical bills for charges and procedures I had done that I thought were paid off already. I tried contacting her office but to no avail. Now it’s almost 2 yrs later and they are still billing me. I will never ever return to see her again and I would recommend others to not consider going to her as well. A person’s health is not something a doctor should take lightly. For someone to endure the stress that I have underwent that, like I have stated, could have been easily avoided if Dr. Lacombe was just more careful. I would not want anyone else to have gone through the mistake that I have gone through.

I’m a first time vistor and new patient of Dr Lacombe. My main reason for swtiching is that my previous GYN Dr Richards at MHW her office staff is rude and has NO respect for the patients time. I have complete regard and respect for my Dr’s and expect professional courtesy from them and their staff as well with respect to my time. I am hoping that this office will be where I find this respect. Things happen and we all understand that but soem regard for the patients time should be expected. So far I find Dr L’s office to be very welcoming as far as atmosphere, the staff is friendly and courteous and Dr L is very comfortable to talk to and extremely personable. I’m impressed this far.

I use to have a high opinion of this doctor (this was originally a five star review and I use to refer a lot of people), but over the years, it went to three and now finally a one.
The good points. The Miramar office is clean and the nursing staff is nice. Dr. Lacombe is gentle. I can’t speak for the several other doctors in this practice as I have not met them.
However, there is significant room for improvement here. There are two locations for this practice; Miramar and Hollywood. The Hollywood office is dumpy with dirty carpet, old stained furniture, water stained walls, broken front reception counter, etc etc.
The last time I saw Dr. Lacombe, I waited about two hours before being seen for my pap/​exam. At the exam, I wanted to discuss a problem I was having and was told by Dr. Lacombe that I would have to come back for a second visit for my pap. When I asked why, she said that the insurance would only pay for one procedure per office visit (so no discussing problems at your annual pap/​exam as apparently that qualifies as a «procedure» in this office). That exam and discussion was no more than ten minutes. On the follow up visit, the staff informed me that she was «in a procedure» and would not be there for my appointment (they did not call ahead to tell me this, they informed me only after I got there). This was more than frustrating. I have a baby and had to pump milk and arrange for my husband to take time off to babysit so I could go to these appointments.
The one occasion I met the office manager Bobbi, I found her to be awful. When I objected to a silly policy they have about making patients fill out the same paperwork visit after visit, she became irate/​snide and made a scene in the waiting room in front of other patients, refusing to allow me to see the doctor unless I filled out the same paperwork I had just filled out the week before. I assured her that the information was the same, but to no avail. No diplomacy or explanation was offered. She simply demanded that I fill out the same form with the same information I filled out the week before or I would not be permitted to see the doctor. I thought it was a ridiculous policy and told her so, but agreed to fill it out anyway. When I asked her for her name and told her that I wanted to speak with the doctor about her attitude and the «policy», she refused to let me see the doctor! The whole event was very upsetting and unprofessional. I was there because I was having a problem and was in pain. I left there in tears. It wasn’t always this way, but these days, this practice doesn’t seem to hold the patients time/​efforts/​needs in much regard. I have the impression that they are only concerned about their policies and profits. I do no plan to return.
Lastly, this practice does not support midwife attended homebirths for normal healthy pregnancies. When I asked Dr. Lacombe why, she responded «We just don’t». Well, ladies, a normal birth is not a medical event. Women in America have been brainwashed into thinking that birth is a scary-​painful-​difficult event that they can’t do without a whole medical team to get them through it. It just isn’t true. There is a better way. With c-​sections happening to over over 50% of hospital births in South Florida (Miami and Broward), there is good reason to avoid the hospitals if possible. A c-​section is major surgery and is really only necessary at about 2% of births. 50%+ is crazy (and very profitable). Midwife attended homebirthing is how most of the world, including Switzerland, Germany and most of modern Europe have their babies. and they have MUCH better/​healthier birth statistics than we Americans do. If you want a natural birth experience, watch Ricki Lake’s documentary «The Business of Being Born» and check out the Hollywood Birth Center. I dropped this OB and used HBC for my pregnancy and they were great.
