Westfield Broward

Well, I’ve been back a couple of times now… time to change my tune. What a difference a little over a year makes. I think it’s time to update this review as I’ve been back numerous times now and I must say I’ve grown to appreciate this mall more and more.
On the hunt for a bow tie and searching for a sports coat on two separate occasions, I was able to not only get in and out fairly quickly, but landed both pieces at a ridiculous discount. My sports coat was only $ 20 a Macy’s after a steep discount — down from $ 180. I know right? The entire store had sales, and maybe they were just getting rid of things, but for $ 20, at the quality it is, it’s a steal anyway you cut it.
Parking has been super easy. Like I said, in and out quickly… which isn’t the case for other big malls in the area. This for me is the biggest convenience. They have plenty of parking, so you aren’t going around in circles to get a spot.
Looking forward to venture out of the big box stores and into the middle of the mall next time, as I’ve heard there was some renovations since the last time I ventured in — and maybe even catch a flick as I heard the theater was great.
Still waiting to get my hands on those churros as well lol

I was a little disappointed in the lack of stores there. I found a VS and one other shop. If you really want to get your shop on go else where. If you’re looking for an eatery, this is a good spot

Every time I come here it gets more and more depressing. There are no relevant stores, only cheap clothes from storefronts I’ve never heard of before. I don’t seem myself shopping here ever again. Step it up a notch Westfield, you are second rate.

I know I’m bucking the trend here, but I actually like this mall. Yes, it’s not flashy or fancy. Yes, it might not have all the cool stores. However, I have a number of reasons I like it nevertheless. 1) It is in a convenient location, not too far from 595. 2) The parking lot is not stuffed to capacity, and you don’t have to walk very far. 3) Once you are inside, it is small, and again you don’t have to walk very far to cross the entire mall. 4) It has some of my favorite stores such as New York and Company, Express, Teavana, etc. The only store I miss is the Limited, which those are typically only one or two per area anyways. Lastly, the store is pleasant enough inside. I find myself usually wanting to come to this mall first even though many malls are just as close.

I actually live about 3 minutes from the newly redesigned Westfield Broward Mall and I love all the new additions of restaurants! Especially Brio! And what Plantation has been missing for years-​finally a beautiful new «state of the art» Regal Movie Theater! Yippiee! How nice to be able to shop, dine, and have entertainment so close to home! I love Macy’s and Dillard’s there and it’s great on a Saturday to be able to drop my car off at Sears to have it serviced while I shop the mall! This past Easter I took my Granddaughters there to see the Easter Bunny just as I had done with their Mommy when she was a baby! I love how the mall keeps all the wonderful Holiday traditions for the families to enjoy! Good job to whomever is running the mall! Keep up the good work!

Been coming to this mall for years. Since they remodeled it’s really beautiful. a lot of great new resturaunts, food court has been upgraded. Great kids play area, and a awesome movie theatre. Love this mall.

I will give this mall a generous 3 stars (2.5 if I could) because it has recently revamped and has a pretty good variety of stores for its size and for what it is — a regular mall. I can’t pit it against high end malls because that’s just not who the product is intended for. It seems to reach out to a younger/​family market, especially with their addition of a new movie theater.
Now parking is a big deal to me and there is an ample amount of spaces and it isn’t ridiculous traffic like Sawgrass Mall. You may think its due to size, but Coral Square Mall is about the same size and the traffic and parking there is atrocious. Also, in comparison, since they actually ARE comparable, Broward has more variety in stores. Plus, location is decent and there’s food and other places close by to meander.
What really makes it worth going to is Cotton On! Cheap, cute and okay, maybe a little hipster, but its hard to find a Cotton On in any other surrounding mall near my place… not even the holy grail of Sawgrass Mall. I also shop at Trendz (a little Chongalicious but good finds), Charlotte Russe, Love Culture and Wet Seal (even though its closed indefinitely at the moment).
What I’m saying is, by no means would I travel an extended amount of time to get to this mall but it does the job and is A-​OK for a local mall in my area. The food variety is also decent with your run-​of-​the-​mill Asian mall food and… Chick-​fil-​a! Woo-​hoo! Also notable are the Big Enchilada, Red Robin’s, Charlie’s (sp?). Check it out!
Either way, for a woman or even man in their early 20s, its good enough. For families, its pretty safe, just lock your cars (like anywhere you go lol) and yes, there are those Asians who massage you in the middle of the mall (they’re everywhere now!).

Not really impressed, a lot of cheap shoes stores throughout the store which they can invest theses spaces in better quality stores. It’s one of the smallest malls I’ve been too and I would think that it would make the most of the space it has! It’s clean and open which is a plus but for its way far off for me as a go to small for anything :/

My first trip to this mall was a pretty awesome experience despite the fact I went during the holidays. I was surprised to fund all the stores that I love including H&M.
The mall was pretty clean, and the food court was unvelivably great! I found a Cinnabon and that made my trip fabulous!

I’ve been to this mall throughout the years, having been born and raised in the area. (And it will always be known as the Broward Mall to most of us!) It was at one time, an upscale mall with the types of anchor stores you’d expect. But as of the past 5 years or so that has all changed. The stores are now mainly consisting of athletic/​sneaker stores or no-​name, cheap apparel stores that carry tacky club wear.
Even since the revamping of the mall, bringing in some new restaurants, remodeling of the food court and now including a movie theatre, this mall is still missing «something». They have brought in some nice stores such as Pandora and Teavana. But the way the Pembroke Lakes Mall has brought in some big name/​brand stores like Michael Kors and Coach, the Westfield Mall is still heavily lacking behind.
Why live 5 minuets away from one mall just to have to travel out to Pembroke Lakes (which I hate!) or Aventura just to find some nice stores that don’t carry the same things that you can find in a Marshall’s, Ross and TJ Max?

my 2 year old son and I were spending the day at the Broward mall. We stopped at the Toys r Us express shop, my son wanted to play with the train which was set up in front of the store. After about 10 minutes of quiet play in the presence of store employees, an Officer of Plantation PD walks up and tells me that my 2 year old son should be careful while walking near the table bringing me 2 train cars to connect together. I gave him a confused look since my child had the train cars completely under control. He then proceeded to make offensive hand gestures as if to imitate sign language and stated ‘what’s the matter you don’t understand what I’m saying to you’. I responded ‘no I don’t’. He replied with you break it you buy it’. I asked was this the store policy or his own. He said ‘his’ then he threatened me with jail time if my 2 year old broke a 60 $ train and I couldn’t pay for it. I asked for his name he gave it to me angrily then walked off. Afterwards two men who had witnessed the event asked why the officer was so upset. I explained the situation. One of the men worked at Toys r Us and shared that it was not a store policy and that children are encouraged to play with toys at touch points. Prior to the officer’s arrival my son and I had been playing happily for over 10 minutes with the same train. I felt both bullied and harassed by the officer. I was also greatly offended at the mock sign language. Most concerning is the fact that given the current state of relations between police and African Americans, you would think that an officer would be more selective on what and when to intervene. I could understand if my child were unruly or causing a scene through reckless behavior, he was just enjoying his dad on dad’s day off from work. This whole incident was completely uncalled for and it literally ruined my day. Which besides being a day off happened to be my birthday.
The mall needs to seriously consider how to partner with local law enforcement in order to provide better experiences to potential patrons.

i been going to this mall since 1986, it was pretty top notch for a run of the
mill mall. right now after picking up a item at sears, i walked the mall and seen way to many athletic apparell/​sneaker shops.
and way to many carts in the middle selling nonsense that nobody wants.
tell ya the truth, there is nothing at that mall that i need or have to get, unless i lived out that way. demographics change, and i see a shopping center for thugs on the horizon.

I’ve seen third-​world countries have a better infrastructure than this mall. Sadly, that isn’t an exaggeration as I felt many parts of the exterior of the Westfield Broward were a bad area. The parking lot is an atrocious disaster, with the roads around it being so slim you can barley fit a car through, and it seemed like it needed paving and possibly an expansion. The outside look of the actual mall is quite drab, and not very vibrant at all. All these are my thoughts before I even stepped out of my car. I never felt safe while I was at Westfield Broward mall, both inside and outside of the mall. Stepping inside the mall I had a much better impression. I will give props to the food court area which sported a lot of locations to choose from for food, and plenty of room for growth of more places. But even this aspect has its downfall, which was that only one place was giving out samples, no bueno.
The mall didn’t seem that huge, nor was it high end. No store I passed really peaked my interest enough to go in, so mainly just walked around. I came to this mall out of convenience because I had some time to kill to walk around and explore here. In the time I was here, it made an impression on me, one that will almost certainly insure I won’t be back.

So on vacation, i went to visit this mall. I havent shopped there in about 2yrs. They have made great changes to the mall, specifically the food court. The improvements were definately noticeable and added to the aestetics of the mall. The stores are a good variety, cant complain. nice local mall

This mall is the closest to my house so I generally just pop in if I need something really quickly at one of the department stores. I generally don’t come here to «shop».
The Macy’s, Dillard’s, and JCPenney aren’t the most high-​end anchor stores but they aren’t the MOST budget conscious either. Personally I’m a Nordstrom girl so I have to venture to Aventura for that. But if I need to grab something from Express, Cache, Victoria’s Secret: these stores are in this mall and of decent size.
One thing I do notice is there is a decent amount of store turnover. There seems to be a decent amount of stores I’ve never heard of (maybe local chains?) that will be around for a few months and then there are «Going out of business» signs. Obviously this mall doesn’t do TOO well which isn’t a great sign. There seems to be a lot of angsty teens hanging out and not doing anything productive which is super annoying as well.
If I need to just pop in and grab something quickly (i.e. I know exactly what I need and where to get it) I can go here quickly. If I want to «shop», I’m more inclined to go to Galleria or Avenura where I feel safer and the stores are nicer.

They are trying to make it nicer. Adding a Red Robin and other restaurants. It’s really busy and parking spaces aware tiny.

In terms of safety I offer this mall 1 star. I was leaving the mall with my mom and baby and we were approached by two men who rushed us like stealth pumas pulling the chains off our necks and ran away through the parking lot. We were not parked far. It was 2 pm and the parking lot was full, just not of people. There were no security guards in the vicinity. We called the police and made a report. We don’t expect to hear anything back. Especially if you have a small child with you, be extra careful.

2. They need a parking garage

I work near Broward Mall so I’m essentially required to stop here. Basically I have no reason to come here other than the fact that I’m next door to it.
The store ha basic low-​level stores that all malls across America have. Their big department stores are Dillards, Macy’s and JC Penney. Those are really the only stores worth going into. It seems like it would be much bigger, but really this is not a big mall at all. It’s kind of deceiving.
The food court is ok– small, but clean at least.
They’re making additions so hopefully the additions make the mall better.
I think they have a dentist office in the mall. That pretty much says it all.

When I lived in Broward I came to this mall frequently. I was looking for a Dillard’s and this seemed to be the closest to Miami. It had been such a long time since my last visit and I must admit we really enjoyed this mall experience. Sure they can use some updating in certain stores especially Dillard’s.
I personally have started to dislike mall shopping and prefer boutique’s. Alas sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go because you can not find certain items. We shopped freely with no hustle and bustle hmmmm like Sawgrass Mills. Every store we went into the staff were super friendly and I appreciated they all spoke English. Nice change to be able to communicate when your asking for help.
The Macy’s is really nice in this mall but like others have said mainly all your basic stores here, nothing out of the ordinary.
Regardless I think it is a decent mall and very relaxing to shop in.
