For over twenty five years, Owner Alex and Katy Liao have built a solid reputation as Contra Costa County’s most trusted business. Alex was grew up and educated in Taipei, Taiwan. He helping his father with their business. He began apprenticing his father at the age of 12 and has developed a deep knowledge on photography industry. Alex inherited his father’s unique insight and knowledge and understanding of running a successful photo business.

I am extremely happy I found A Plus Image! I urgently needed non-​standard passport photos for an overseas passport. They whipped up the photos to the exact specifications in no time! They were really friendly and lovely people. Although I only got passport photos they provide a lot of services. I will definitely go back to get my old vhs digitised. The selection of frames was also amazing and it looks like this is their forte. This is a hidden gem! Thanks A plus, you are A+++!

Alex’s work prompted me to actually sign up for an account so that I could write a review. He took about 50 old family photos and scanned them/​restored them so they are now worthy of display. He was very clear as to cost, which was very reasonable because I was doing a package. Alex is also very timely. Everything was returned in perfect condition and the quality of the digital prints is exceptional.

Do you have old videos and photos that you want to preserve? Take them to Alex at APlus Video. He is professional, honest and does exceptional work! I brought him 20 year old videos of my children (my camera had broken years ago and I have not been able to watch them since) and I now have them on DVD to watch and enjoy with my now adult children. I brought him over 400 old black and white photos of my grandparents and they are now safely and professionally on DVD that I can share with my siblings. I am very happy with Alex’s work! I would recommend highly!

I thought I had posted a review of Aplus Video before but it doesn’t show up on the Unilocal Website so, since high quality work and customer service is at a premium I will write it again. Alex is an independent business person who does exceptional work. I had over 80 reels of film, old (from the 40’s) 8 mm movies, regular 8 mm and super 8 mm. He transferred all of these to DVD’s and they came out perfect, better than the original movies.
I originally took the movies to Costco and they just send them out to a company in San Jose (the same one that Sam’s Club uses). They came back terrible but fortunately Costco did give me a full refund.
I found Aplus Video in a mailer and thought I would take a chance. After bringing the movies in and talking to Alex, I felt confident that he would do the best he could to bring back these old movies. I picked up the finished DVD’s and brought them home and was so impressed at the quality of his work.
Since that time I have brought more photo work into Alex and he always greets me with a smile and is so accomodating. If you are looking for photo support or video transfer, this is the place to go without question

I needed a passport photo and called ahead to confirm hours and availability of their photographer. Arrived a few hours later and a few minutes later had a «good» photo to send in. My past experiences have me looking like a convict!!!
Would definitely recommend them. Also, I have some old photos that need restoring, and based on the incredible samples they have posted, I will be taking mine in.

I had a family wedding video sent to me in a VOB file. I called A Plus to see if they can convert the file to a more widely used format that can be played in any laptop. Alex said he can convert to MP4, which I have heard of plenty of times. He said to come by and he can convert it. After the video was converted I couldn’t make it to his store before he closed. He mentioned he could wait a few minutes for me. I was really pleased that he stayed a bit longer so I can pick up the video as I had left early from work but there was excess traffic this one day I needed to be some where. Very pleased with his service.

We took several very OLD photos to Alex for restoration. He is an EXPERT! He restored our treasured photos beautifully for a reasonable price, and completed the job within a reasonable time frame. We highly recommend Alex, and will definitely use him again. He is very professional and produces a wonderful finished product. He really understands how important those family photos are to us.

If you’re coming for a passport photo, don’t bother. This place is basically a picture framing store. After making me wait 15 minutes while he helped some people buying frames, the owner informed me that the photo tech was on vacation but I could come back in three days. If I could give this establishment zero stars, I would.

I am very pleased with the work done at A Plus Image by Alex. He repaired a «frozen frame» that was ruining a video of a one-​time speech I delivered and needed to upload to my website. It looks great now!
Alex also converted my old VHS home «movies» to DVD. I can’t wait to view all of them.
Best of all, Alex is professional, personable and he turns around the finished product in the time frame promised. .. all for a reasonable price!
THANKS ALEX! I think it’s time to do those passport pictures now :-)

Alex is a master of photo restoration. I have taken several old photos, many in poor shape, to Alex to restore. He carefully examines each picture with his magnifying glass and white gloves. He knows exactly how to enhance the color and clarity of each picture. He has taken my 4×6 and 5×7 photos, digitally restore them, and print out 8×10 prints and provide the digital file for my library. Alex is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and patient. Most of all, he is an honest professional who really cares about his service. If you want your pictures done right, take the time to see Alex. You won’t be disappointed.

A plus Image is a great find for people looking for international passport photos! I needed an Australian and a US passport photo for my four year old son. Alex went way beyond the call of duty transferring a 8 MM camcorder video of mine to
DVD. He had the software my camcorder came with (I lost it), and he professionally transered with quality and care. It came out excellent at a great price! I normally do not write reviews, but you can not get a better person, professional work, and a better finished product. If you need something done go see him.

We have had three video done by Alex for our sons’ rehearsal dinners and our 40th anniversary. All involved taking old 4×6 photos and enhancing them and putting the produce together including music. All were done very professionally and with a willingness to do all the small touches that made the end result great. High quality and dedicated the customer service. Alex created a beautiful wedding album for me with less than perfect pictures from my daughters wedding. He is fantastic to work with and makes sure you are satisfied. He was able to photoshop, enhance, and crop many pictures and make them great. The album is high quality at a price many professional photographers can’t match.
He can also restore old worn out photos to look like new. You will be very happy with his professional quality work. I will definitely use his services again.

We have used Aplus Image in Pleasant Hill 6 different times and we were thrilled with the results each time. Alex, the owner, is a great multimedia technician, as well as an artist. He has touched up old photos and made digital copies and professional enlargements. Alex converted our home movies (in 3 different formats) to a wonderful case of DVDs, with sound. He created 2 beautiful DVDs with sound for 2 Celebrations of Life. Last, he made our son and his new wife proud by creating a wonderful DVD of their wedding combining photos (professionally touched up, of course), video and song selections and snippets into a work of art we all will cherish for years. I could not give a higher recommendation to Alex and Aplus Image.
