Matthew Rinn – State Farm Insurance Agent

If I could give this office one star I would. My account was auto transferred to this office after my agent retired. The office staff never answers the phone and none of them know what they are doing. Matthew is never in the office. I got a quote for a new car from one person and it was different from the other person I spoke with. I ended up switching offices because my account was on auto pay for a specific date and they just decided to draft whatever dates they wanted too. I’m sure there are many agents in pleasant hill, I would pick any other agent!

Its interesting reading the below reviews. Not one review has said anything about Matt being of assistance in sticky situations (involving claims). I agree, when you are a typical client who doesn’t have a claim and pays on time, Matts office is a pleasure to work with. But when the going gets rough, and accidents happen, my husband and I found out the hard way that Matt Rinn is not anyone you want in your corner.
Matt made a mistake on a policy change we requested, and terminated coverage on the wrong date (our mistake for not putting it in writing and trusting the verbal conversation). We-​as luck would have it– had a minor accident. Matt advised us that «it sounded like the other party was at fault», so not to even worry about us not having coverage due to his error. He also told us due to the processes state farm corporate has (time stamps, etc.) that it would be too difficult to fix the error and back date the policies. The other party insured denied the claim, and state farm opened an investigation on the error Matt made on our coverage. We, several weeks later, received a letter from state farm corporate stating that Matt’s office had claimed we had never attempted to fix the error or re-​instate the coverage for the appropriate dates. I have since provided all the emails I had in writing discussing the issue, and State Farm is still investigating Matt and his office.
During that same time, he also made a change to one of our other policies, because of a discussion he had with a family member (NOT one who is even on our policy or authorized to make changes). Seriously?
Bottom line, Matt has lied and covered his tracks to ensure his own behind is covered. We have liked state farm generally as a company, and Matt is a disgrace to that name. He has inherited many of these customers from a wonderful agent who has since retired, and done nothing to gain any trust of his own. Take your business elsewhere.

Why am I not surprised that Matt and staff have nothing but 5 star reviews! I can not stop raving about how FANTASTIC him an his crew truly are! Not only helpful and friendly but professional and have wonderful customer service skills =) glad I’ve stuck with them and will be pointing all my friends and family in the direction of Mathew Rinn and State Farm when they need insurance!!! Thank you so much for having my back in time of need, I can’t thank you enough!!!

Matt not only saved me almost $ 400 per year, but he gives great advice, clear, easy-​to-​understand options, and I trust him implicitly. He is a trusted advisor that will always have your best interests in mind and will explain the benefits/​pros and cons of each option.

I have known Matt for about a year and he exudes confidence that reflects his honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and sincerity. I have been with State Farm Insurance for over thirty years. When my present agent either retires or dies, I will transfer my auto and home insurance policies to Matt. I will refer anyone that is looking for auto or home insurance to Matt. Matt is not like a good neighbor. He is the good neighbor.

I have been a customer of Matt’s for about a year, and switching to State Farm has been a great move. I feel like I have had some «high-​maintenance» transitions and questions in the last year, and I can always count on Matt and his team for great service and timely responses.
