REALLY ROTTEN!!!
I have always wanted a PT CRUISER Convertible. After looking/​driving EIGHT convertibles from Fresno, to Fremont and Davis and back, I settled on this one in Pleasanton. Lower mileage, drove nice expect for a few things including seat belt warning light on, a «POP» under the drivers side when accelerating from a stop and minor exterior, cosmetic damage.
Jose seemed like a very professional, patient and earnest salesperson.
Look these vehicles up on KBB. The 2007 PT Cruiser Convertible (Touring) wholesale price (what the Dealer SHOULD have paid) is between 1,300 — 3,100. The Cruisers although really fun to drive & comfy, often have numerous mechanical problems which caused their resale value to plummet. Clearly the Dealership buyer didn’t do HIS homework when he bought the car at auction. Private seller is around $ 3,500. So I offered $ 4800 K. They accepted. I have it on a TEXT message !!!
I had told Jose I wasn’t coming out again until I had a final number. I just wasn’t interested in haggling for hours.
I asked Jose to send me MO’S (Sale’s Manager) FINAL counter offer so I could make a decision. Simple. Either «Yay or Nay.» Jose texted Mo accepted so I got the Cashier’s check during my lunch break at work, then drove all-​the-​way back here tonight after work.
Yesterday’s drive was THREE hours round trip. Today’s drive home, with NO car will be 2.5 hours!!! I have put 180 miles on MY car, just driving back/​forth to THIS dealership.
Jose texted me and said he will talk to the GM tomorrow. I will keep you, «YELPers» posted.
If the Dealership makes good on their deal, I will update my review and give more stars. Until then, «Auto World» seems more like, «Auto Crooks». Humpft!

Don’t even think about shopping here. Check out this link to their OLD Unilocal reviews. This is THESE GUYS, before they attempted to re-​brand (again), hoping to hide from their practices, and find more trusting people to sell their problem cars too:
Just look at that Unilocal URL. It says «aca-cars-of-dublin-dublin?osq=autoworld.» They sure do equal each other because they are clearly and undeniably the same business.
They abandoned this Unilocal page, and changed their business name, after 27 straight 1-​star reviews, and an overall rating of less than 1.5 stars over 49 reviews! Absolutely atrocious, and indicative of massive corruption. Their old «ACA Cars of Dublin» name still appears in their current website URL, at the top of this very Unilocal page.
These stereotypical used car dealers have a long history of selling «as is» lemons; cars with many, many issues, that they hope customers don’t notice, so they will be stuck with their «as is» nightmare. That’s their game; pure (evil) and simple.
This is absolutely the worst company I have encountered in my 50 years.
The damaged car that WE BOUGHT FROM THEM required more money to fix unidentified major problems than the actual car cost.
The suspension was so destroyed that two mechanics called the car a «wobbler,» and told me it should not have been sold to me, and that it was dangerous to drive.
The «check engine» light came on within a few miles of my leaving the lot. This is something that happens to many people who have made the mistake of shopping here. Just read the old reviews.
You would be better off flying to Havana, and having them ship back a 60’s American car.
As per normal, these guys have now received 6 STRAIGHT 1-​STAR REVIEWS here on Unilocal.

SUGGESTIONS:
1) Shop for a CERTIFIED pre-​owned vehicle.
2) If you must buy from an «as is» used dealer, take the car off the lot to a mechanic to be checked out. The car we bought (from these guys) required lifting in order to be able to identify the major suspension problems.
3) NEVER, EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
4) Be sure to tell all your friends, family, associates, co-​workers, etc, about corrupt businesses.

They advertised a car on autotrader. I inquired about it and was assured that they have this particular car. They called and asked me when I can come over. I spend money on carfax report. I drove an hour next day, after several calls with manager and his minion.
Then guess, what — we are so sorry, there is some confusion, we sold that car few days ago, but we have few other you may like. So I wasted 2.5 hours of my sunday, drugged alone my wife and baby into this armpit of bay area.

Was looking for BMW M5, manual, of course ad is saying it’s manual, but in fact it’s a SMG (basically automatic), not a big deal, most of the so-​called dealerships doing those…
What really got me shocked about this place, is answer when I’ve asked test drive on Audi RS6 — If you want to buy it I will give you a test drive… WTF? I didn’t plan to buy it, I was looking for m5 manual, and wondering what it’s like to drive RS6, and who knows maybe I will decide to buy it.
Anyway, with such attitude towards customers I really don’t want to do anything with this dealership, and encourage everyone just turn away from it. it’s a bad bad place to have business with.

RUN AWAY!!!
Craig is completely unprofessional and a liar. My friend and I called ahead and spoke to two people. We were assured the 2004 Touareg we wanted to look at was available, no accidents and 1 owner. I asked other specific questions about the vehicle to make sure it was what we were looking for. We arrived about 20 minutes behind schedule due to the Friday traffic and I received two phone calls from Craig to make sure we were still coming. I should of seen this as a red flag.
When we arrived, my friend saw right away that there was some separation in the carpet, but the battery is under the driver’s seat and was told they had checked the battery and assumed that was the reasoning for it. WRONG! I asked to see the Carfax since I didn’t see the same mileage and sure enough, they did a bait and switch on us. They were showing us a 2007 for $ 3000 more. When I asked where the 2004 was, Craig said it was sold while were on our way and it had an accident anyway, so this was a better car. When I asked to look at another vehicle trying to give him the benefit of the doubt since we drove an hour in traffic to get there, he drove us to another lot and lo and behold was the 2004 but parked in the corner with 2 flat tires. My friend asked for us to be taken back and Craig had the audacity to ask if we were using cash or credit. My response was «neither.» This guy didn’t take the hint and asked again so we told him that we weren’t buying a car that day.
On the drive back he accused US of wanting a perfect car and I said «No, just the one we came to see.» He said the car was fine and it was then that I pointed out the dangling mirror on the passenger side.
We barely got into the parking lot and I asked for us to be let out. He stopped, called us a few names, then screeched off in his busted a** car. If you can’t remember his name, just look for the guy that looks like Chris Farley in probably his 50’s. No offense to Farley, he was a great comedian. I am pretty sure THIS guy lives in a van… down by the river.

If I could I would give this place ZERO stars! In 2011 we bought a car from there and it was an okay car. No serious problems needed new tires but that was all in may of 2012 they offered us to come in and trade that to get a new car for lower payments per month!
That being said we looked at scion tc decided we wanted it and had to wait for the bank to get back to us. The following day they call saying the bank agreed and to come Down and sign paper work.
We drive 45 minutes to find out they sent the bank the wrong car! After waiting another two hours to send the bank the right car info we find out that car isn’t even available. So we look again. Find a 04 Cadillac cts they agree on that all is good we leave.
The car had an airbag light on, the steering wheel was sideways, the tires were the wrong size, and the alignment rods were rusted. The car they sold to us for 15k is not even worth 5k. They say they’re back by the BBB. Looks like BBB needs to make a trip down there.
***3 years later and I’m still stuck paying for a car I had to trade in 3 months after I bought it. This place is the worst.

This place — be careful.
I stopped by to take a look at a pretty Jeep Wrangler that had some modifications done to it. My wife and I applied on their website to start with financing. When we get to the dealership when, the man that I spoke with on the phone (Steve i believe) walks out. The very stereotypical used car salesman immediately starts asking me about my credit and down payment, I stated that I wanted the car under my wife’s name. He then starts saying that financing will be based on the book value but i’ll need ‘a lot down’, and then states that the «book doesn’t cover everything» then informs me that the asking price is 40% OVER kelly blue book even though it was a Police confiscated vehicle. I responded simply stating my knowledge of that fact.
After respectfully informing the salesman that the vehicle’s value does not go up with any of the modifications, unless they’re performed by a licensed and insured installer I asked if he had any receipts for the work done. He stated that he doesn’t have any of the receipts and I asked how I could know that the work was done correctly especially since he informed me of the origin of the vehicle’s previous owner. He got upset with me and yelled at myself and my wife (while she was holding our toddler) saying that he didn’t want to sell us the jeep, he’ll keep it. We walked off the lot in shock, my wife appalled and our son crying.
I was excited when I saw the previous place dealership at this location replaced with what seemed to be a fresh new dealership. Upon further research, It has come to my attention that this place is either a subsidiary or rebranding attempt by ACA Cars, this is where you can see their reviews:

My experience at Auto world turned out great! Well at first not so good. I guess it all depends on who is helping you. I would have given 5 stars on my review but Jose took that one off. I went to see Jose because it was his picture on one of the auto magazines. When I got there I told him I wanted a good used car to keep me on the road being that my last car broke down for good. so he immediately went into car sales mode and tried to push a piece of crap car. When I told him I wasn’t interested in it he left me and my wife standing there. So I was not impressed and I told my wife lets get out of here. On our way to our car, we noticed this guy taking a picture of a couple that had just purchased a car. He came up to us smiling and said proudly, I just got them into a car that made them happy. He introduced himself as Terry Watts. What impressed me about this gentleman was that he really seemed that he wanted to help us and not just make a quick sale. He asked what our story was how we ended up there, and how can he be of help. I told him and also mentioned our little experience with Jose and how he didn’t take us serious. Then he assured us that he would do his very best to help us. He searched for a couple of cars that we might be interested in but they were in their other lot and he would have to drive us there. As we were getting up to go in his car he mentioned to my wife and me that hopefully we would be ok with one of us riding in the back seat. Jose looked at us and told Terry,” eh just throw them in the trunk.” My wife and I couldn’t believe his attitude with the customers. Man this guy doesn’t know us!!! Then Terry apologetically said, oh this guy wow this guy and with a smile opened the door for us and apologized for Jose. By the time we got to the other lot we were more focused on a car than we were on Jose. we looked around and found a beautiful used mercedes and since we paid cash he and George gave us a great deal! My wife and I were really happy with our used car, and I gotta say that Terry Watts and George really saved the day and the sale. That’s all we wanted. My recent experience that I have just had with Bay Area Autoworld has been outstanding.
I set out to purchase a vehicle for my girlfriend as a surprise birthday gift and wanted my endeavor to be special, exciting and stress-​free. The buying experience in purchasing a vehicle can be a frustrating and time consuming experience.
I appreciate that I have had the opportunity to do business with the general manager George and the sales advisor Sanjay at Bay Area Autoworld and to have worked with such customer oriented people, it has been a very valuable and at ease experience. Both were extremely helpful, resourceful, negotiable and personable as we reached a final agreement.
Sanjay was exceptionable in giving me the opportunity to create an excellent purchase agreement with a few incentives in purchasing the vehicle I had set out to do my business venture on. All my customer service needs have been met and I feel that I have been exhibited the act of above and beyond customer satisfaction.
Once my auto purchase had been finalized and all business and paperwork completed, the general manager George, who had familiarized himself in caring for me as a customer, took the time to have listened to me knowing that I had purchased this vehicle as a surprise birthday gift for my girlfriend, went out of his way to give an offer of gifting me a dinner at the restaurant of my choice to also surprise my girlfriend with. I can’t begin to acknowledge and appreciate all that he has done and offered in the time I have spent leading up to the finalizing of my auto purchase. I couldn’t have had a better experience.
I have experienced outstanding customer service while doing business with Bay Area Autoworld and I highly recommend them to whom may be shopping around and looking for a dealership to begin their auto shopping experience and ventures.
The entire experience and service has been impeccable. I’m really pleased with this dealership.
Once my girlfriend receives her special surprise birthday gift in a few days, I can’t wait to share the experience that let up to her receiving her special gift.
