Paul moved to Santa Clara County in 1990 to study law at Santa Clara University. Previously, Paul lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Boston, Massachusetts. He received his Doctorate in Jurisprudence in 1993, and went into practice as a defense attorney for a local insurance defense firm. After spending a year watching insurance companies take advantage of plaintiffs, Paul joined a Bay Area civil litigation practice and specialized in helping plaintiffs in personal injury cases.

For the past two decades, Paul has tried cases in Santa Clara County courtrooms, where he has become a known face to judges, attorneys and legal professionals.

Paul is actively involved in the local Santa Clara County community. He supports the local economy as a member of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, and is affiliated with the Silicon Valley Better Business Bureau
