Our optometrists have a combined experience of over 20 years and specialize in comprehensive eye exams for all ages, OPTOMAP retinal exams, computer vision testing, contact lens fittings, CRT, vision therapy, treatment of eye infections, allergies and dry eye and LASIK consultation and co-management.
History
Established in 1995.
Pleasanton Optometry originally began by Dr. Celia Ziel in a small space on the corner of Hopyard and Stoneridge in 1995. She opened her practice and ran the entire optometry office on her own without any employees for 3 years. At the end of 1998 Dr. Ziel was getting very busy and had heard of another optometrist in Pleasanton wanting to sell his practice and retire. Dr. Peter Miller (husband and partner of Dr. Ziel) during all this time worked as an optometrist in a large practice in Milpitas. Both Dr’s Ziel and Miller looked at the retiring doctor’s practice (25+ years in this location) and fell in love with the practice and purchased it in Jan 1999 and practiced in that location for 13 years. We recently moved into a beautiful, remodeled office to better serve our patients. We have an incredible staff and incredible, loyal patients that have become part of our family. Dr. Celia Ziel was raised in South San Jose and earned her undergraduate education in biology at Santa Clara University. She completed her optometric education at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where she received her doctorate degree. Since graduating in 1992, Dr. Ziel has worked as an optometrist in several offices in the Bay Area, but enjoys practicing in her own practice, which she established in Pleasanton in 1996. Dr. Ziel has special interests in contact lenses, eye disease, LASIK co-management and primary care optometry for all ages.
