Tri Valley Inn & Suites

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights before going on our honeymoon and found the accommodations very nice for the price and the location was great as well. The housekeeping and front desk clerks were very courteous and helpful and the continental breakfast was another added bonus.

STAY AWAY!!! I would give this zero stars if I could. I reviewed the 1^st day of my 2 day stay… It was worse the next day… After being out all day was looking forward to relaxing in my room… At 530 when I arrived back… The beds were stripped and nothing else done… It was 6pm before I could get into my room! The front desk staff did nothing to make me feel like a valued customer… It was too bad… Nothing they can do… WORST Motel experience EVER!

Oh my this hotel has been remodeled recently and is kinda clean (only found 1 dead roach in 3 days not bad). I was in town on business for 3 days and my company put me up here, I guess cause it was so cheap, now I know why it was so cheap. The good news is its in a great location, and you Wont need an alarm, the meth addict that lives in the room connected to mine was up at 417 am every night, so of course so will you! I wouldn’t stay at this place again if you paid me to, as a matter of fact if my work tries to put me here again I think I’ll just quit my job!!!

We drove all the way from SD and checked in at 6am. Such horrible customer service! When we arrived inside the room, their was a spider that greeted us on the pillow of our room. Gross!!! Room smelled so awful! Wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Tri Valley Inn & Suites was one of the cheaper options during my recent stay. I was in town for 3 days, 2 nights, for a training at the Marriott. I was already doubting the hotel based on reviews here and on
. Compared to the local motels, it was more expensive but was an easy $ 60 per night cheaper than the Marriott and other similar hotels. My employer paid for the room, so I couldn’t much complain.
I think it’s best to start with the good: the staff and their service. I interacted with 3 different people in the office (check-​in, key card issue, check-​out). They were all friendly and helpful. I will qualify this, however– I did not have any strange requests, nor did I complain about any of the problems I encountered in the room. Basic human interaction and customer service: check!
The negatives are a different story. While their ad on
touts the rooms with a TempurPedic bed, I did not find these mattresses to be comfortable at all. Lumpy, hard springs, and terrible pillows made for sleepless nights after hours of enduring PowerPoints. The fridge would have been great if it was actually cold– the cooling was impeded by the massive ice block covering the inlet that had formed over years of not properly cleaning the inside. The bathroom was very tiny and while I am not a small guy, I’ve never hit my elbows so many times in a single shower. I’ve been on cruises where the budget rooms had bigger showers. The shower head had calcium deposits in the outlet holes and caused for an awkward time trying to achieve any sort of water pressure. The toilet seat was a cheap plastic one that was not bolted tightly and would wiggle when sitting down. The only pluses to the room are the microwave and satellite TV.
I would only stay here again if I was in a bind or if someone else paid for the room. While other hotels are more expensive, you do get what you pay for. Sadly, Tri Valley is not something I would pay for again. 2 stars are only for the staff being friendly and for the rooms being cheaper than others in the area.

Great place to stay for the money ! The rooms have been renovated and really nice! Staff is really nice and helpful. I have stay here several times and always enjoyed it.

If I could give this place –stars I would. not only is it a complete dump. the people that run it, are total criminals. I made a reservation through Hotels​.Com. they wouldn’t honor it. First time that’s ever happened. They told me my credit card was declined. Even though I used it later that night with no problem. The first room key they gave me didn’t work. The girls working the front desk were rude and incompetent. the room was filthy. No remote for the TV. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

I was checked into to a room that was occupied by a family that appeared to be living there. The «suite» was very small, filthy and smelled. The free breakfast is two plastic cold cereal dispensers in a phone booth size lobby. There is no on site restaurant, the place was disgusting. We refused to stay and left for other accommodations.

Very nice and comfortable place to stay in Pleasanton. I stayed in a Junior Suite with ensuite bathroom and a small kitchen. The hotel is closed to shops and grocery stores. The room was cleaned every day unless when I asked not too. I could park the car just in front of my door. The place was quite and I do not have any complaint. The price is good given what I got with $ 85 per night.

Ah, it’s something about taking a huge whiff of that Downtown Pleasanton air that gives me a slight tinge of excitement. Neighboring Main Street and nestled between two small parks sits. You guessed it:
Tri Valley Inn & Suites
Second time back here and we’ve been around to other hotels, motels, night spas and the occasional late night-​wee morning-​no sleep into mid afternoon escapade.
A step above your best neighborhood Motel 6, I’d begin by saying this is one of the quaint, hidden motels in this respectable downtown area. Thus, it’s ambiance is subjected to the vibe of the travelers that pass by and select this as their resting point for a time.
My interest in Tri Valley is the slight economic benefit of $ 10 to $ 15 dollars saved a night, while still being in a pretty layered location. Within walking distance is my all time favorite convenience store 7 Eleven, open 24 hrs for your needs. Also close by is a shopping center with a Walgreens, Safeway, and Starbucks, to name just a few.
Also don’t forget that there is a smaller shopping center filled with neighborhood shoppes, the popular being a local thrift store that I highly suggest ya’ cruise into when you’re in the area.
All in all, I guess I’d say Tri Valley Inn, with their smoking and non smoking rooms, clean presentable pool, fairly amicable staff, and flexible checkout/​check in times still has a place in my Pleasanton heart. It feels almost off the path, but for locals, natives, or explorers of all sorts it’s still a motel to keep in your back pocket.

Stayed here as location was close to appt. room is clean needed to ask for hair dryer. No tv remote. Very small shower. Will probably not eat expanded breakfast as it is in lobby the size or our bathroom. Would not stay here again. Nor recommend it

if you’re staying in pleasanton, you might want to stay somewhere else! horrid management and they really do not care about your stay. you are treated like a 3^rd class citizen. i called this hotel for rates and was given a discount for my son attending school in pleasanton. with bart going on strike, we thought we should have our child stay there for the week without any worry. not to mention they advertise his school and offer a discount. the manager whom would not spell her name since she had very broken up english was extremely rude and lied about a discount. this hotel is awful and after reading reviews, i strongly suggest not staying here. i have called the better business bureau and my son’s school to inform them of this bait and switch business. if you know what is good for you, do not stay at this hotel… plus, be sure and read their reviews… so happy my son will be staying somewhere else that can be trusted!!!

Maybe there are better rooms in the place, since they have «Suites» in their name. But my room? Tiny. Not well lit. The décor was one old floral poster that I remember from the 70’s, faded and ironically, obviously screwed to the wall. The shower looked scary, very small, I didn’t use it. No plug in the sink. The peephole was broken in the door so I couldn’t see out. The pillows were lumpy, but I always bring my own so that was OK for me. The flooring made me nervous, I wouldn’t walk barefoot. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The price was good ($ 85), that is about it. This is not a room you would EVER want to, or really could hang out in. No one was at front desk when I checked out. Disappointed to say the least. I wish everyone would write honest reviews. It would make all our stays easier. (I don’t think anything was average, but was better than poor) Breakfast was dry cereal, only know since it was still there when I checked in that evening. :) The room picture that I have seen posted are NOT what I experienced in my room. I didn’t feel safe, which is important.
Room Tip: IF you stay, bring your own pillow.

Joey S. got this one right in his review. Yowza, this hotel has seen better days, that’s for sure. On paper, Tri Valley Inn sounds great, and at $ 68/​night, it sounds even better. In person, it’s a different story.
The negatives stand out more for me:
— scary floor. I wore socks as it was dirty and iron burns were evident.
— bathroom was tiny and there was mold around the windows, toilet, shower and sink.
— the heater/​AC unit did not work until I reset the breaker switch. It got pretty cold in the room without any heat, so it’s not well insulated.
— Free wi-​fi did not work — oh, I could connect but no web pages would load. Oddly, I connected my smartphone and could get mail that way, but not on the laptop.
— TV turned on but was not set up with the satellite — all I got was static. Thanks a lot.
— the «continental breakfast» was tiny and packaged, and lame.
The only pro for me at this place is that it is very close to my sister’s house (where I was visiting). My mom is coming out for a visit and I’ve instructed them to find her a different hotel. There are much better options out there, surely.

Stay away from this DUMP!!!

Noise from the wall heater and street
NO HOT Water for a shower!!!
Manager couldn’t give a rats butt about any of it!

Let’s start with the good:
1. Older but well kept looking on the outside.
2. Located close to food, within walking distance.
3. Over space inside the room is not bad.
4. Very well lite up at night and quiet.
5 Satellite TV, Mini fridge, and small microwave in room.
6. Various vending machines outside.
The not so good:
1. The room is dirty. What do you mean you may ask? Let’s start with the food on the floor next to the bed. Indicating someone doesn’t know how to use a vacuum.
2. Unclean bed sheets. When we pulled down our top cover of our bed, we discovered crumbs in the bed, and I also found hair! Disgusting! And not fitted bed sheet to boot as well. So they slapped on two flat sheets, which if you toss and turn, are coming with you!
3. Over all comfort of the bed is definitely low rent, to put it nicely. I have stayed in a lot of hotels, and this certainly makes the list of top worse comfort of beds.
4. Plugs? Where the hell are they? Only one is really easily accessible in the room it self (not including the bathroom). And even that one was 5 feet off the floor right next to the A/​C unit.
5. Oh ya, I mentioned satellite TV. I did mention that in the good part, however it would be nice if it was programmed to work the TV it self so you don’t have to get up to mess with the volume or power! Granted this is minor annoyance, but still, it should work!
6. The bathroom is very very small. I’m not a big person by any means, but this bathroom is tiny. Only slighter larger then what you would find in a RV.
7. Free WIFI !!! Super! NOT! Can’t even connect. We tried with 2 Iphones and my Macbook Air and no luck what so ever! Their WIFI here requires that you put in a simple user name and password to get on, which is provided to you by the front office. However, when you try to enter this info in to your Iphones web browser, it keeps kicking you out of the mode for typing info in. On my Macbook it showed it was connected, however when you open the web browser, nothing! I know you might say why complain if its free? But what good does it to offer such a thing if its doesn’t even work. Why not post that you offer false hopes as well!
In a closing summery, you certainly can do far better. The room cost was $ 65 per night for a two bedded room. Which in my opinion is $ 40 per night too much! Now it wouldn’t take much to improve the rating of this place. Simply cleaning the room and beds right would be a major start. I would say if your desperate for a place to stay, then go for it. Other then that you might consider just sleeping in your car.

This is an awesome hotel: Free WiFi, walking distance from a cool ass park, also right across the street from the park is a Safeway and across from their is a nice plaza including a decent liquor store. The room is very clean, no loud noises, awkward smells or stains either. The customer service Rep, Sunjay, has been very helpful also.
