Description

Specialties

Marlene & Glen’s Diner, featuring an almost unlimited menu of homemade comfort food for breakfast and lunch, sits at the corner of Shenandoah Road and Highway 49, the gateway to the wine country. With a full bar and family atmosphere, Marlene & Glen’s is the best place to start a tour of the wine country or foothill adventure!

History

Established in 1999.

Marlene & Glen’s Diner sits at the gateway of the Amador County wine country – the Shenandoah Valley. Owners Karen and Mike Martin have been serving mouthwatering, homemade breakfast and lunch creations since 1999. With roots in the Shenandoah Valley that reach back five generations, Karen purchased the diner and in her words, «wanted to set out to create my own slice of apple pie.»

And that she did: Karen understands what locals are looking for, and as it turns out, those just passing through appreciate the exact same thing: hearty and generous «from scratch» meals at fair prices, prepared and served by people who make you feel like one of the family.

Business Owner

In 1999, after an absence of about a dozen years, owners Karen and Mike Martin returned to Amador County, where their roots reach back five generations. They immediately purchased Marlene & Glen’s Diner, securing their little corner at the gateway to Amador’s wine country – the Shenandoah Valley. The valley was also home to family property, where they built a home and planted Zinfandel grapes, which they provide to local winemakers.
