The Bridge Wine Bar and Restaurant

Neat atmosphere (like a Seattle place). Really good food that’s a break from the usual uninventive stuff.

I doubt that I will go to the Bridge again any time soon. The place has really gone down hill past several months. We were a big group celebrating an happy occasion. Food trickled out over a 30 minute period. Half of us was done by the time all the food came out. To make things worse, burgers were dry, cheese plates were terrible, and only four beers on the tap.

Delicious lunch and amazing service! My husband had the chicken Cobb salad and I had the salmon salad. The salmon was cooked to a crisp perfection, yet remaining moist inside. The touches of sun dried tomatoes and mandarins delighted the citrus vinaigrette with touches of crunchy nuts and fennel throughout the dressed spinach. My husband enjoyed the variety and presentation of his salad. Although we didn’t eat on the patio as it was a little chilly, it offers beautiful views of the mountains and sometimes a passing train. We will be back soon!

Gotta try the kobe beef. Great stuff. Good selection of beers and not bad scotch choices too…

After reading several mixed reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I walked into a stylish, darker, classy kind of place and sat in the dining room. After perusing the menu, I decided to let the green fly and ordered the most expensive dinner on the menu — a Kobe beef flank steak with kale and duck fat fingerlings. I have heard about Kobe beef on various food series. Something about raised on milk and beer from birth, massaged daily by virgins, and only slaughtered under a full moon using a unicorn horn. In hindsight, I believe I was actually thinking about wagyu, and after searching Wiki that it was actually «American Style Kobe beef».
I munched on some focaccia bread, sipped wine and read a book while I waited (can you tell I’m single?). After a reasonable delay the meal arrived and I settled in for a feast. Okay, maybe not a feast. I guess you could call the serving size «smart». About a 6 — 8 oz steak, sliced and arranged over a bed of fingerling potatoes, with bright green kale on the side.
My impressions — The kale was fried (?) It was obviously cooked and wasn’t boiled. I liked it, but at a couple points while eating it, there were some gritty crunches. I’m not sure if it was sea salt crystals (it was a bit salty) or something else. The duck fat fingerling potatoes were, well, potatoes. The beef… The beef was well cooked to order, very flavorful and well seasoned. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn’t blown away. It had about the same texture as sirloin, not quite as tender as a filet. As I said it had a lot of flavor, but was it due to the beef, or the chef?
Since the meal didn’t really fill me up, I decided to splurge further and get blueberry cheesecake for desert. Now this was good! About ½ inch thick graham cracker crust and another 1−½ inches of cheesecake (I might be exaggerating slightly, but not by much). A nice mound of blueberries on top of, and beside the slice. Eating it was a pleasurable experience — except for one thing… I got a spoon to eat it with instead of a fork. Let me tell you, trying to cut through a ½″ thick graham cracker crust with a spoon is not easy. You get through the creamy cheesecake, and start applying pressure to the crust. Nothing. Apply more pressure. Nothing. Apply MORE pressure and CRACK! The loud and unappealing sound of flatware firmly hitting a plate. Now, just do that 20 more times. Thank God the place was pretty much empty.
Overall impression — It was okay. I spent a tad over $ 40 (not including tip) for a steak dinner, wine and desert. No pre-​dinner soup or salad, but a small plate of bread. Nice ambiance and a good selection of wine and beers, and I saw some food items not readily available like duck and lamb. I’ll probably go back and check out the burgers some day. In Pocatello, it’s a nice place for a date and/​or intimate dinner.

Fantastic service and food! The vegetarian portobello zucchini spaghetti was delicious. It’s a fun and unique atmosphere. I will be back!

Hmmm… where do I start? The staff was real nice at first. We got there before 5:00 so they say us in the bar. The service was a little slow but I figured that was because they weren’t quite open yet. Once we got our drinks, they never once came back to fill them up. We had to go ask the bartender every time we needed refills.
We finally ordered around 5:00…this is where the fun really began! We literally sat there unnoticed for an hour and forty-​five minutes. Keep in mind, we were still having to go back and forth from the bar to get our drinks… from the waitress that took our order.
I took a lap around the restaurant and every table had their food except us, and we were the first customers in the door.
So, our food. We ordered 4 hamburgers. Once we told the manager that we were gonna take off, he promptly brought out our food. The picture basically tells the rest of the story (labeled «ouch» under the pictures). The burger barely took up half of the bun. In fact I’m not sure it wasn’t the smallest hamburger I’ve ever had… The flavor was alright, fries were good and my drink was ok.
The manager gave us half off, which was good for them because we were on our way out the door but still a nice concession.
I’ll never go back and wouldn’t suggest it to anyone.

The Good:
The atmosphere was excellent, it had an urban loft design, the Christmas décor was nice and trendy looking too.
The food looked beautiful, like art on a plate.
At noon on a weekday it was neither loud or crowded.
The Shoestring Herb Fries were the best I have had in years.
The Bad:
It was hard to find. (it’s in a seedy area behind the Museum of Clean)
The burger we ordered, though tasty was over cooked and dry, even though we ordered medium, and there was only one other group (4 people) in the restaurant at the same time as us, and one guy at the bar.
When I asked why the most expensive thing on the menu (for lunch) was Fish and Chips, even though there were other things like Salmon and Ribs I was told «I don’t set the prices, but they are beer battered Cod and you get 3 pieces» (which just sounds dumb)
The Ugly
We waited at least a half hour for our food in the nearly empty restaurant.
The server, whom we could see the entire time, didn’t even ask us how our food was until she took the plates away.
The ribs were beef, (my fault, should have asked) and tasted like pot roast, there was no seasoning on them and very little ketchup like barbecue sauce.
Given that it was only about $ 20 for lunch for two, and the atmosphere, combined with the great fries, we will give it one more chance, some day, but I guess we’ll need to order the burgers raw…

This review is just for the bar area, but it’s cheap, lots of ample space (especially those couches) for a bigger group. Laid back atmosphere.

Good. NOT worth the price. We had ribeye which was huge, a little fatty, veggies weren’t that great. AND had salmon, which was «baked», that should have been a red flag. Anyhow service was great, people were nice but just not worth the price.

Wow… simply amazing. To begin the service was excellent. Our waitress (Rosie) made great recommendations, from dinner to desert! My hats off to the chef, my meat was well done yet juicy and tender! I haven’t had a burger that good since Hello Kitchen in Minneapolis! My partners fish was expertly done, and the sauce he referred to as tarter crack! Dessert while simple was spectacular! The atmosphere is exactly what we love, contemporary, not too loud, not austentatious nor austere! Simply excellent!

Arrived around 4:30 Happy Hour drink specials were very good. Surprised no appetizers on Happy Hour Service was excellent however do not be in a hurry because the kitchen is very slow. We got a wedge salad $ 12. It was average good. Not worth the price. The Bridge Burger was spectacular cooked to perfection. The Pad Tai was a huge disappointment. It was extremely salty and no peanuts or peanut sauce. Ate the shrimp could not eat the noodles. Server very sorry but I refused another plate it was getting late we had already been there for 90 minutes. Great comfy décor. The fish and chips looked good. We will try it again but stick to burger fish or steaks.

I am live in Philadelphia and am in the area temporarily for work. It was hard for me to find a local restaurant I truly enjoyed… Then I came to The Bridge. I haven’t had a dish I didn’t love! The vegetables that come with main courses have always been amazing. I have had the rib eye steak and it’s my favorite. They have really great vegetarian dishes which I don’t normally go for. I generally sit in the bar and the service is great. Drinks are reasonably priced with a good selection. I basically eat here multiple times a week since it’s the best place in town! Makes me miss home a little less!

I’m from SLC and came here with my in-​laws who live in Pocy. Loved the exterior and interior. We got seated right away. Looked over the menu and had our server take our orders 15 mins after our arrival. I ordered the Rib eye rare with a baked potato. As a table we got the cheese and crackers dish and the olives to share. Everything was yummy. They brought out bread on a bed of drizzled vinegar and oil. The bread was delishhhh but the vinegar was flavored and tasted like cough syrup
The wait for the food took around 40 mins felt like a long time and there was only 4 of us. When my steak came it made up for the long wait. OMG it was cooked perfectly and was a gorgeous cut of meat. Not to mention it was HUGE. I thought to myself «there’s now way I can eat this all by myself» but I totally did! The baked potato was perfectly seasoned and the dressings came on the side. I love myself a good steak and potato and this was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I can’t stop thinking of how amazing it was! Everything in my life had been leading up to that moment. It felt so right.

My wife and I, out-​of-​towners, we’re given some gift certificates so we ate here. The atmosphere was ok. Ordered a bottle of wine, then was told they only had the one bottle left and it was opened, so we settled for two glasses. At the end of the meal, we’d spent more on glasses than if we’d gotten the bottle. The Ribeye was terrible –worst I’ve ever had. They did make up for it by bringing a Filet Mignon, which was pretty good. They also offered free desert due to the disappointing meal. All in all, it wasn’t that bad, but, for the price, I expected a lot more. If I’m in Pocatello again, I might give them another chance.

Instead of a cup of chowder. Loved the atmosphere. Hard to find this type of place in Pocatello. Reminds me of eateries in Seattle, Palm Springs. I highly recommend. I will be back.

Want to like it because it’s not a chain, but I can’t give it anymore chances. The service is slow and they usually get the order wrong. The food can be over cooked, the drinks are watered down and service lacking. Had to ask twice for a napkin and silverware after our food came. They seem to be trying to hard to look fancy, that they forgot the basics of service and food.

Was seated immediately and served water. Waited for 11 minutes for someone to come to our table, but nobody came, so we left. Menu looked good, prices fair, building is beautiful, but that’s about it, unacceptable service on a slow looking night, or any night for that matter.

Stopped by The Bridge and it was very cool. The location reminds me of our warehouse district in DTLA but in Pocatello. It seemed very familiar to me and I felt comfortable. I ordered their Bridge Burger with sweet potato fries and aioli sauce. I had the olives and almonds in oil as an appetizer and ended it with their bourbon brownie concoction. They also serve fine craft beers. I had a special double IPA that I can’t remember the name of and a craft Pilsner that can’t remember the name of. Service was fine but be prepared to wait, because it’s a very laid back vibe here. They have a 21 and over lounge area with a different menu and drink selection, which I did not get to visit. Next time.

A very unexpected place to find in Pocatello. Décor is funky and cool and when we were there there was a live band on the patio that was really good!!!
For food, we started with a fire roasted veggie hummus with pita. The amount was tiny for 3 of us to share and it had a very bland taste. Like literally tasted like nothing. I doused it in salt and was barely able to choke it down. But the pitaS were warm (as advertised!) and very soft.
Next I got a cup of the tomato soup. I asked if they could toss some goat cheese in it and not only did our serve oblige (for free!!) but she gave me a HUGE side. It was amazing. The soup was hot and had a touch of spice and the goat cheese went perfectly in it. The texture was very bisque like and was perfect for a rainy day. Honestly, it was so good I should have ordered a bowl and taken a swim.
For dinner we all had the pad Thai. Even though it says it comes with a «traditional» sauce the sauce is more American. Not like real Thai. That being said, it was delicious. The presentation was beautiful with juicy fresh limes, spicy salt, rock salt and cilantro on the side so you can add as you like. The egg is really well incorporated with the noodles which have a nice bite to them. Even though I was full I cleaned my entire plate because I kept wanting one more bite.
Drawback to the Bridge and what keeps it from 5 stars is the service and the corking fee. We never really knew who our server was, we just kept flagging down whoever was close and the corkage was $ 20!!! Exorbant!!!
Will def be back… but maybe sticking with water.
