Food was great. Service was terrible

The restaurant ambiance was excellent. Food was great too. Veal was cooked perfectly as was the chicken. Appetizer’s were delicious. All of the portion sizes were very generous for the price. They are a B.Y.O.B. establishment so you can enjoy your favorite beverage without overpaying for it. Loved our experience at MonAlyssa! We will definitely be back and I strongly recommend giving it a try.

We have been VERY happy with every meal we’ve had from here. I ordered the insalata mela tonight and it was fabulous! Red leaf lettuce, apples, walnuts. Delicious. My husband has had the pork chop and also the veal dish and both were fabulous. My dad loves the chicken parm. Our family is clearly a fan! The broccoli rabe we had last week was a little over cooked, only «criticism» I can muster :)

The antipasto was a delicious choice ! Tasty and a huge platter; nonetheless, the margarita pizza was dry and over cooked– not a fave for sure. However, warm ambiance On a cold, rainy eve. I will return for the antipasto on my next visit to town and give them

Had a free pizza coupon so gave it a try. BIG MISTAKE pizza tasteless Caesar salad tasteless calamari which was highly recommended was tasteless. Try some salt or seasoning and by the way don’t eat when serving customers. Go elsewhere anywhere By the way learn to cut the pizza in equal sizes.

Local favorite! Great choices, delicious food and excellent value. Added plus it’s a BYO! Service is friendly and prompt. I will return again soon!

The pizza sucks. Plain and simple. The cheese and sauce were clumped on the pie completely unevenly. The pie was way undercooked and the sauce and cheese were entirely to thick. I will definetly not be returning. There is plenty of great pizza places around point and brick.

How does a restaurant and pizzeria not serve PIZZA in their RESTAURANT? If you want pizza you have to sit in the hot, un-​air-​conditioned pizza «side» with only 4 tables even when the party is 9 people?
When a 4 year old is complaining it is too hot and he does not want to sit in the hot pizza area just so he can have a slice of pizza, you should serve pizza in the air conditioned restaurant!
Even if the pizza was mind blowing, my family would never return — except it was not. It wasn’t even good, let alone mind blowing.

Wanted to give two stars but I would like to give this place a second chance. Had delivery and I was put off by the delivery guy. The tip was added to my bill which I didn’t realize then while I was signing the check he went out of his way to show me in the screen where I can leave my tip so I ended up double tipping. Chicken parm was just ok. A little greasy. Pizza was good.

We have been going to this place for a long time. Quaint dining room with warm lighting separated from the pizzeria. Staff /​Wait service is excellent, especially Tyler who is friendly, efficient, and knows how to make us feel welcome. Good portions of great food. Escarole and Beans, champagne sauce you may choose optionally to fish, etc, and eggplant parmesan are among our numerous favorites. Recently had a family repass there, and they did a FANTASTIC job. Everyone who attended loved every dish. Brian always goes out of his way to make sure his guests are accommodated. A BYOB, this place is our go-​to for great local Italian food.

The quality of the pizza has plummeted. The crust is now pure crap.

Gotta be fair. I gave this place a little bit of attitude a few years ago but was just recently really impressed with their food. Four of us ordered take out and the food was outstanding. Absolutely spot on delicious. It’s expensive but nice things cost money. If price is your number one priority you might be upset. If quality is your number one priority do not hesitate to order from here. Really impressive.

This is a great little BYOB Italian restaurant. I’ve been there four times and every time have had great meals. The food always comes out hot and tastes great. The service is wonderful and you can make reservations online. The dinning room usually fills up on weekends so I recommend making reservations. The price is about average, around $ 15 a plate and all the meals come with salad and pasta. The eggplant rollatini is my favorite.

Cold, sauce less garbage. Literally anywhere in point is better than the trash served by this fake Italian actually Mexican family of rude, brutish cave men. Go to pizza express. Go to martells. Go to Joey tomatoes. Hell, pay a hobo five bucks to make you a pizza. You’d save more money and it probably would taste better.

We have ordered twice from here. The first time was on a weeknight and the pizza was good. We ordered again on a sat night and we waited over an hour only to receive cold practically sauce less pizza. We had to reheat it and it tasted like it was made 24 hours prior to us getting it. We will probably give them one more chance because the price is good…

Hidden gem. A nice little Italian restaurant next to their pizzeria where you enter the building. Nice menu with delicious selections. A real locals place and of course, the locals always know where to go.

Kind of agree with the other reviewers… this is just an average restaurant with nothing special to set it apart. Was there last night with reservations… there was a large party that had been there for four hours (!) and so all of us with reservations were told «we are sorry… they haven’t left yet». …so we waited. And waited. Finally got seated… with the un bussed tables still full of food and mess directly behind us! While our waiter and waitress were outstanding and apologized profusely for the snafu, the manager, Brian, seemed more content to have conversations with his family members seated at another table. Food was ordinary… much better Italian restaurants in the area. At least we did get a discount on the bill for our trouble. And no, as we told the woman who so nicely asked, no we will not be returning. Life is too short to eat «meh» food:?

My cousin & I sat down for a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was prompt and friendly. I decided on eggplant parm and my cousin ordered the chicken parm (both dishes, not sandwiches).
The food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. When our entrees arrived, the server took both of our unfinished salads without asking, then slopped two plates down on the table. The sauce was watery, which for me is a dealbreaker.
All in all I’d say it just wasn’t worth the cost.

Checked out MonAlyssa for the first time tonight and was not impressed, essentially for a lot of small reasons that added up to a not-​great experience. We waited over 20 minutes to be seated despite being on time for our reservation. There was no good place to wait, which left us standing in a dirty hallway (specifically dirty walls and a dirty office door in front of us) with waitstaff having to shimmy around us with big trays of food. When my husband inquired about how much longer it might be, the hostess (owner?) rather brusquely answered that it would be a few more minutes, without making eye contact, smiling, or otherwise indicating friendliness/​empathy. It made him feel like he was a nuisance or something.
We were seated in the dining room where a man was playing guitar. Bless his heart, he seemed like a darling guy, and he played some old favorites but it was not entertainment one would actively seek out. In fact it made for a kind of weird atmosphere. It wasn’t too loud, which was a plus, though it still was hard to hear the waiter. When I opened my menu, I noticed it was dirty. Several pages were stained and there was grime here and there on the plastic cover which I ended up getting on my hands. I also noticed a pile of breadcrumbs fell out onto my lap when I opened it. It was pretty gross. At one point during our meal, a busboy hit our table hard while making his way over to clean another table. The whole table and drinks were sloshing around. He turned his head to see what had happened and said nothing. It warranted at least an apology for disturbing us. We were lucky nothing was spilled. It was just weirdly unprofessional. I blame this on the owner/​managers, not the busboy, who was probably 16 and just not properly trained in the importance of this kind of thing. He seemed a nice enough kid overall. Our waiter was quite professional despite the mess going on around him too.
The entrees were good, though it was weird that my side of linguine came with marinara on it when my dish had its own (very tasty) sauce. I would have expected just plain linguine with olive oil or something. Fortunately it mixed well with what I was eating. When we received the bill, there was a greasy smear of food on the receipt, which was pretty disgusting.
The décor at MonAlyssa is inconsistent and odd. There is a decent mix of commercial art and little finishing touches, but they have augmented these things with cheap paper decorations (some kind of Easter thing, I think, several weeks after Easter) that are clearly handmade, maybe by somebody’s kids. The paintings were not hanging straight, which gave the whole place a half-​hearted, thrown-​together look. This restaurant is in serious need of focus. The owners need to decide of it’s going to be a diner/​café or a fine dining experience and proceed accordingly. The entrée was good enough for fine dining, but with the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere, I wasn’t buying it. It was a poor experience and I was really glad we were using a gift card and not our own money, because it would have been pretty upsetting. On the other hand, this was our anniversary dinner, so it was a disappointment to have it be kind of a dirty, unsatisfying experience. We both said we might return for takeout, but would definitely not come back for a sit-​down meal again. I’m not altogether confident they are maintaining healthy food handling standards considering how lax they seem to be with cleanliness, though, so takeout might not be in our future either.
I highly recommend to the owner that he or she think about the full experience for the customers, from the interaction with the hostess, to the menu, to the moment of departure. The place has a lot of potential to be a warm and inviting experience that a lot of people would enjoy and the food is pretty good. As of right now, though, they are really missing the mark.

Excellent food and service. Delivery is great too. It keeps getting better
