INK.PAPER.PLATE is printmaking studio and arts workshop specializing in letterpress, woodcut, linocut, etching, monotype, screenprinting and bookarts.

The retail workshop showcases artist-​made goods, sells art supplies, offers personalized art instruction for all levels of artists and hosts community social gatherings.

History

Established in 2011.

Making art is an experience that is highly influenced by the place, the materials, and the process. After years of running by appointment workshops and periodic events through a studio in my home, I decided to expand to a combined studio and retail shop in Point Reyes Station where both my patrons and I would be inspired by the abundant beauty, history, and richness of West Marin.

Sirima S.

Business Owner

Sirima is the artist/​owner of INK.PAPER.PLATE Studio & Shop in Point Reyes Station, California. She studied sculpture, printmaking and fiber arts at the Claremont Colleges, the American University in Rome, Italy and Temple/​Tyler University in Rome, Italy. She received her BA in Fine art from Pitzer College in Claremont California. She has taught workshops, given artist lectures, and demonstrations for the University of California Santa Cruz Extension, Academy of Art University, and various educational organizations.

A unique little gem in Point Reyes Station just about a 90 minute bucolic drive from San Francisco, amid all the oyster joints and other epicurean delights scattered throughout Marin.
We took a half day class, which was the perfect activity after spending time in the car, printing up holiday cards on lino block thingamajigs. It was great fun carving up the lino and using the old school hand printing tools and presses. Such a great feeling to learn and make things by hand.
The owner is very accommodating, patient and a marvelous teacher. Oh and she’s got everything there for you, all we had to do was show up.
The shop is really cool, very laid back atmosphere and the owner has done a tremendous job decorating and adding all the little rustic nouveau touches, very nor Cal coast.
It’s worth checking out even if you don’t take a printing lesson, lots of art, prints, books, totes, towels and other stuff for sale.
It made for a perfect day out in Marin.
My girlfriend enjoyed the art printing lesson so much she bought some gift certificates for her parents and friends.

You can sense the cool vibe just walking up to the enormous old doors… Inside is filled with tons of cool artwork on posters and linens and cards and whatever else, and you’ve got to be impressed by the old-​school machinery that she works on. There’s a really cool thing that looks like a tortilla press on steriods, but I think it actually has something to do with screenprinting instead…
There’s also art supplies, like blank journals and watercolors and pencils and that kind of stuff. Plus, cool comfy couches, lots of cool books, a couple guitars and ukulele’s. There’s community music events and classes, all sorts of stuff to get your creative juices going. And since it’s at the end of town, it’s a little less crowded by the weekend tourists. A great place to just sit and hang out and watch the town!
