Milo Foundation

I adopted my dog at Milo in 2009, Lynne was very helpful in helping me identify a perfect dog for my family. Our dog Athena (was named Ethel) has been nothing but an amazing addition to our family. I have always appreciated what Milo has done for the animal rescue foundation and highly recommend anyone who is interested to rescue over shopping for a new pet. An when I say rescue, you get rescued by the new dog or cat you adopt.
Thanks Lynne and the entire Milo crew who go above and beyond for the animals.

I have heard great things about Milo. But my family experience was not good. We were so excited adopt one and even went to their office multiple times. We gave our request about a month in advance but they told us after 1.5 all the puppies have been adopted. I guess we are not a right family to adopt. I felt like you have to know someone or someone there has to like you REALLY!

I wasn’t really impressed much by Milo. Given the incredible facilities they have, and the number of volunteers, I was disappointed over the several months I visited. On the positive side, the animals were kept clean, and seemed to be exercised regularly both with walks and sessions in an outdoor fenced space.
However, some dogs were there for months based on behavior such as pulling on the leash, or lunging at other dogs, which I found stopped in seconds when I ran into them outside and showed the prospective adopter a few leash techniques. I never saw anyone at Milo do this.
Do not expect the dogs to match the online descriptions particularly. I fostered one dog who they described online as having had a litter and then been ‘dumped off’ at a shelter. But by the time I showed up they had learned from a vet the dog was pregnant — the symptoms of which they had incorrectly interpreted as signs of a past pregnancy. If they didn’t know she was pregnant and the vet had to tell them, why did they continue to think and state that the person who turned her in had bred her and ‘dumped her off?’ It really offends me when people can’t muster ordinary decent feelings toward the human race.
Overall I guess my main complaint about Milo is their unserious relationship with people, which creates inefficiency and unnecessary delays in adoptions.

Our experience with MF was positive and the dog we adopted (see my profile pic, Petey, he’s the larger of the 2) was a wonderful, sweet, loving, awesome dog! He was 5 when we adopted him and lived another 8 adventurous years before lost him to a brain tumor. We were devastated. But he helped us give some great final years to our then senior dog we already had and then later help raise/​mentor another puppy we adopted who absolutely adored him (i.e. Murphy the smaller dog in my profile pic).
From the time we saw his picture posted on their adoption-​available website, we were in love. We found the adoption process reasonable & the staff likable & caring. Lynne herself answered all my email questions & concerns promptly & was ALWAYS polite. I was amazed after reading her backstory about MF on their website!
We travelled 3 hrs to their sanctuary outside Willits (an awesome facility!) to pick him up and were given a tour of the place by one of their great volunteers (so sorry can’t recall his name… oops!). We were told that their more «difficult» dogs were sent there (although he never showed any sign of this for us), so we took a 4×4 mule out to the pen to get him. Petey jumped into the cart, licked my face, sat down next to me and we were off! He didn’t leave our side for the rest of his life. Petey found his forever home with us and not a day goes by we EVER regretted our dealings with MF or any of the adoption process. He gave new life to our aging German shepherd/​husky mix and we spoiled them both rotten! ;-) ALSO, after seeing all those dogs and cats at their sanctuary, I would not hesitate to adopt from them in the future.
I have read the wide range of stories/​experiences from my fellow Unilocaler (s), which run the gamut of love to hate about MF. I have a couple things to say on the matter as I have adopted many, many pets from different pet adoption agencies throughout the years AND I do occasional volunteer work for & an adoption with a local pet rescue A-​Leg-​Up Rescue (i.e. the puppy Murphy in my profile pic).
In my experience:
1) We have found these adoption places are VERY protective of the pets they rescue and therefore it might be mistaken for «rudeness» or for being «over-​zealous» in their screening process.
2) Adoption fees you pay may seem high, but it isn’t just for your potential pet, it’s for the many, many, many, many pets in their system.
3) Keep in mind these pet adoption places may seem «callous» in their questions or demands about potential homes, but after years of seeing neglect & abuse, they MUST be tough in their screening process in order to protect the pet.
4) I once approached ARF about a potential adoption, and I was greeted with what appeared to be an especially rude response, despite what I thought was my extensive «resume» of experience. At first I was bitter, but after rethinking it, I contacted another person there and it was a totally different experience. Maybe the 1^st lady was having a bad day, who knows?!
FINALLY, in closing, I’d say any «toughness» you may get is just because these pet advocates MUST make it hard to adopt these pets. They MUST vex out red flags in order to protect the pet. If they seem hard, it’s only because if they didn’t, they couldn’t perform the work they do ²⁴⁄₇. Deep down though, they have HUGE HEARTS, because if they didn’t:
a) they wouldn’t put in the long hours (nursing sick animals & such),
b) or do the tireless/​thankless volunteer work (picking up poo/​vomit is not glamorous!),
c) or offer up the space in their homes (with no reimbursement and they rarely ask),
d) or go to countless pet adoption fairs (heartbreakingly watching as many pets get overlooked),
e) or carefully screen pet adoption apps (lets face it many peeps should not own pets, even though they might disagree),
f) & often they pay lots of $$$$$$ out of their own pockets in order to protect/​provide for our most precious companions (rarely ever expecting reimbursement).
The list is endless, but getting back to MF, approach them with respect, drop any preconceived attitude and get to know what really goes on there. It’s all about the animals!
I say Hooray for MF and the people who work there! Keep up the good work you guys! ;-)

trying to help a family member find another dog after they’re dog of 11years died I looked at milo online, inquired about meeting a dog. They wrote back saying they would get back to me about setting up a time, never did. They also wanted an application filled out JUST to meet the dog, really?! Just to MEET the dog. I have felt with them before, the person I talked to was rude to me, acting like I know nothing about dogs. She was however very polite to the couple in front of me. I talked to the woman who was fostering the dog and even she said the woman was rude and had some issues, I thought it was just one of those people you don’t really click with.
It’s understandable to want to find a good home for every pet, but this is way too crazy and really need to do a better job. I have found stray animals throughout my life and have found them good homes. So, go somewhere else, keep looking around as there are so many animals out there who need a good home.

Sixteen years ago, I adopted our dog Bink from Milo. Bink was the best well behaved dog ever; he passed away 4 years ago, rested in heaven. Then 2 more cats adopted from Milo, Petunia & Mango, love and adore both cats from the moment I brought them home. Milo, thank you for allowing all these cats & dogs a second chance.

We adopted our two dogs from milo. The best dogs you could ask for. So well behaved.

I love to volunteer here!!! Walking great dogs, or helping clean up, there is always something to do. The staff here work so hard, it is really an amazing place.

If you work from home or are lucky enough to have a big trust fund and do not have to work, they might let you rescue a dog. I was told that because I work during the day I cannot have a dog and that I should not own a dog until I don’t work. What?
It’s unfortunate that they won’t place the 300+ dogs they have in good homes of people wanting to rescue them vs making the dogs sit around the «foundation.» I get that they have to screen people but there is a limit within a good screening process and irrational over-​controlling micro-​managers.
I found their prices to be the highest of the area too. I’m starting to see why they have so many dogs.
If you are «allowed» to adopt an animal from here, I congratulate you. If you are not, welcome to the club.

Apparently you can’t work and have a dog. As much as I would like to be at home all day I can’t afford to not work. Have a yard, experience with puppies. Walk daily and have resources to provide for a dog. Humorless, self righteous volunteer Karen was disrespectful and rude.

If it were possible to post negative stars, I would.
I would like to start by stating I’m currently a dog owner. I purchased her 11 years ago from a breeder and for years have wanted to add to the pack, but never had adequate space to do so. My intention was to this time, not purchase but rescue.
I have many friends that donate to this and other sanctuaries like it and have heard so many wonderful stories of rescued dogs and the amazing connection they and the new owners experience.
Now I’ve been lucky enough to purchase a large property and have been slowly moving towards that goal. So in the past couple of months I’ve scanned
in search of a dog or two to catch my eye.
The Milo Foundation happened to have a couple of adorable options.
I called to verify one particular dog was there and still available,. To which the person stated yes, he was.
Upon arrival after the one hour drive there, I was informed they just sent the same dog to a foster home and I could contact them and arrange a visit another time.
Then after filling out the adoption questionnaire (which does not cover ever aspect of my, much less any potential adopter or home environment) I met with a brash and downright condescending staff person there.
After her cold, rather condescending review of my paperwork, I was welcomed to view some other available dogs she felt would be a better fit.
After viewing, I asked regarding a couple of dogs that caught my eye. Two dogs were needing to be with other dogs, which opened up the idea of adopting a few. In the discussion that followed, I was repeatedly interrupted with the words «you can’t adopt him/​her» or «you aren’t going home with him/​her» without allowing me to fully explain the situation that I was into the idea of adopting more than one dog.
I found myself so completely frustrated and turned off by the experience, I stormed out. Now, the idea of dealing with another shelter and condescending control freak employees, I’m seriously considering purchasing puppies rather than rescue.
In essence, because of this staff persons smug, close minded attitude and inability to acknowledge the possible scenarios, a few of those poor dogs are now sleeping on that cold cement floor (some in their own urine) for a few months more. I hope someday she will realize the terrible disservice she has done to these animals by not truly listening to potential adopters and learning the full situation.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. My mother found a dog on Facebook that was from Milo, so we drove an hour to meet the dog. We filled out an application, then we’re told that this dog was going to an adoption event that she had to go to. The woman who helped us told us that our application looked great, but she still needed to go to the adoption event to find the best «fit». Later that day I was searching their website and found that they raised the price on the dog by 100.00.
Seems like to me they try to get the most money out of each adoption and don’t really care about the «perfect fit».
If I was willing to pay 450.00 for a dog it would be from a breeder because at least then I know the dogs history.
I do like the fact that they are a no kill shelter, but I adopted my previous dog from a kill shelter for less than half the price of Milo’s dogs. I’d rather save a pet from a kill shelter because I feel like I am doing my part to save a life.

Milo Foundation is a great foundation for rescuing animals with a no-​kill policy. People who volunteer and run the foundation are heros in the sense of dedicating time, training, providing temporary homes and their own money.
After finding a potential pet online, i contacted Milo Foundation who were very responsive and got me in touch with the foster mother, Tracy. Tracy is wonderful! She took the time to tell me all about Lucy the cattledog… the good and the bad. She was very honest and took time on her weekend to have me come over to her house to meet Lucy with my dog Lulu.
Unfortunately, the meeting didn’t work out as Lulu wasn’t having a new playmate and i felt sad. If i had the dedicated time to work with Lucy, she would’ve been mine! I left knowing she was in good hands and would eventually find a wonderful home.
Thanks for the great experience! I’ll continue my search with Milo Foundation.

First, the good:
+ As others have mentioned, the volunteering opportunities at Milo are great. They are very flexible and make it very easy to come in and help and/​or foster. The slight downside of this is that you have a whole array of volunteers coming in and out of the shelter; I’ve had both good and bad experiences with the people who work there. Whatever. They’re there on their own time to help out pups and cats. Power to them.
+ John, in particular, is great. You can tell he really cares about both you and the animals at Milo.
+ I find it wonderful that they have an expansive sanctuary (hundreds of acres!) in Marin for adjusting pets. Although I haven’t been there personally, it sounds like a great idea.
Next, the not-​so-​good:
— Unlike Susan below, I have to disagree that «Milo will work with you to find the best match.» I never received that impression over my many visits there.
— I see people complaining about the 350 – 500 USD adoption fees, and Milo apologists rejoining that rescues are immensely expensive undertakings. Yes, they’re high, but I side with the Milo-​vians on this one (at least on the lower end of the spectrum).
Let me tell you a story, though. A month or so ago, my mother was looking for a pup to adopt. She found a ‘perfect fit.’ If you’re reading this review, you know the feeling: when you feel an innate connection with a pup. Her brother and she were rescued from a high-​kill shelter in central California. However, after filling out the adoption forms, she was told that the adoption fee was 800 DOLLARS. You read that right. Eight Benjamins. Her brother? Six. When we asked why their fees were so expensive, we were told that it was because they were ‘unique’ and ‘had a nice temperament.’ Basically, these dogs were really beautiful while being well-​behaved, so Milo felt that it was justifiable to raise their adoption fees accordingly.
I have zero qualms about high adoption fees because of health care costs/​surgeries/​pup happiness/​etc. That’s fair, and something I’m more than happy to support. However, the practice of increasing pup adoption fees for aesthetics and temperament is really, really unnerving. By doing so, Milo is essentially pricing out potential forever-​homes for the sake of making more money. The temperament of the dog should have NOTHING to do with the adoption fees. 800 dollars is well within the realm of breeder prices, and the aforementioned practice is exactly what breeders do! Lets take a moment here to remember that their motto, stamped across volunteer t-​shirts, is «thank you for not breeding!» This actually makes sense — Milo doesn’t want to have to compete with breeders.
I have to emphasize here that these puppies may have been an anomaly. Maybe most of their pups/​dogs/​cats are consistently priced within the 350 – 500 range. It doesn’t change the fact that they felt that it was OK to do this, though. I just had to get this story out there.
If Milo needs to charge 800 dollars for puppies to stay afloat, then something is seriously wrong with their business model.

The Milo Foundation is awesome. If you are considering a dog or cat, or even just want to spend time with dogs and cats, please visit the Milo Foundation. Milo has saved thousands of dogs and cats in the past 20 years. As everyone who has adopted a pet knows, rescue pets are THE BEST. People can be pretty awful and abandon millions of wonderful dogs and cats for no reason other than their own irresponsibility and inhumanity. Shelters are overcrowded and regularly put down these amazing animals. When you rescue a pet, you will get back all the work you put into it a thousand fold. So, if you want unconditional love and devotion, adopt a shelter pet.
Other reasons you should check out Milo:
–Milo makes it easy to volunteer and adopt. Humane Societies are great (the non-​kill ones at least), but because they are government-​run, there are a lot more hoops to go through.
–Milo will work with you to find the best match. If you are looking for a particular temperament, energy level, or type, the employees at Milo will help match you. They will help you find a dog who is cat-​friendly, kid-​friendly, good with other dogs, has agility potential, or whatever it is you’re looking for.
–If you have a breed preference, you will find what you’re looking for here eventually. You can check the animal roster on the Milo site to see what new dogs or cats are coming in. Over the past few years, I’ve seen almost every breed make an appearance from petit basset griffon vendeen to Great Pyrnees to (my favorite) all-​American mutts. (Mutts are the best! They have hybrid vitality!). There are always a bunch of herders. And we even short-​term fostered a Saint Bernard mix puppy last summer.
If you’re not interested in a pet of your own, Milo offers plenty of volunteer opportunities to get your dog or cat fix. We started fostering a year or two ago and Milo made it very easy. (At the time, we couldn’t adopt.) You can foster for as little as a weekend or indefinitely. And if you have to go away or you find this foster isn’t a good fit, you can bring your foster back to Milo. The more people foster, the more space opens up at the shelter, and the more dogs can be pulled from death row. We picked up a foster a few weeks ago for what was supposed to be a four-​day visit – and we adopted her.
If you want a shorter-​term commitment than adopting or fostering, Milo also welcomes volunteers to come play with or walk the animals any day of the week at the new, bigger and better facility in Point Richmond. They offer brief monthly volunteer training sessions and after that, you can just stop by any time.
Some responses to the negative reviews here:
–Exorbitant fees? Milo has to rescue the animals, house them, provide medical care, feed them and run the facilities. Overhead costs go WAY beyond the adoption fees. If you consider the $ 350 too much, it might be worth working out the budget you have for a pet before you get one. They’re big commitments
–Dogs and cats are animals. They are individuals with emotions and personalities. They are not consumer goods. No organization can guarantee temperament or good health. Most of that, in fact, is up to YOU. A pet is a huge commitment and almost all dogs will need a good adjustment period. It is up to you to train them and guide them through adjustment. If you aren’t open to working with a dog’s personality but just want them to be a ready-​made pet who can psychically figure out exactly what you want at every time with no guidance, maybe you should have gotten a Tamugachi (but you’d probably kill that).
–The Milo Foundation is a non-​profit that relies on a lot of volunteers. So you think a volunteer at a mobile event was «rude» to you? A foster parent didn’t bring the dog you want to see to a mobile event? The employee on the phone wasn’t all warm and loving when you decided to bring back your pet of a year because she wasn’t perfect and you never considered your role in her training? Put on your big-​girl pants and get over it. By the way, what sort of volunteering do you do?
One final reason to adopt, don’t shop: look at that face!

The Milo Foundation is a truly wonderful organization. I have been blessed by two amazing pups (one 11 years ago, and one 2 months ago) that, if not for Milo, would not have made it past their 1^st birthdays. And these are WONDERFUL animals! Nobody fights harder for our four legged friends, than the Milo Foundation.
If you are at all interested in rescuing, or if you can’t rescue your own pet, financially contributing to the efforts of saving lives and finding forever homes, than I HIGHLY encourage you to learn more about the Milo Foundation. As stated in previous posts, rescuing is never a 100% guarantee, and Milo does absolutely everything that can be done to provide shelter and necessary medical attention for their animals. They LOVE these animals… each and every one. My 13 year old Venus was adopted through a mobile adoption 11 years ago, and the Director of Milo STILL remembers her. They are all invested, heart and soul, in these beautiful animals and I am SO thankful for that, because I can’t imagine how different my life would be if they hadn’t rescued Venus and Mindy from harms way.
I assume that if you are reading these reviews, you are an animal rescue supporter, and that is wonderful! If we all do what we can to support wonderful organizations like The Milo Foundation, we can really make a difference!

I couldn’t agree more with Average J’s review and she expressed it so eloquently.
I adopted both my dog, Ginny, and my cat Jesse, from MILO years ago and I was so thankful that they had rescued them both from kill shelters in the Central Valley. If Both were foster to adopt so I could get to know them and care for them while they were recovering from their neutering.
I was glad to pay the fee for each and consider it a donation which allowed MILO to continue the incredible work they do in saving animals. I agree that MILO has had difficulty over the years but it seems to me that it comes from so much love for animals and difficulty in saying no to any animal in need. I plan to continue supporting them as much as I can so they can continue doing the great work that they do.

This review is in response to the one-​star reviewer who wrote about an adopted puppy that had distemper. I have adopted two dogs from Milo Foundation, one of whom is still with me. Although Milo Foundation has had its ups and downs as an organization, and my second adoption was not without issues, I would adopt from them again in a heartbeat. I strongly recommend them as a place to adopt a new friend for life.
I adopted my first Milo dog from one of the «mobile» days in San Francisco. I thought they were a bit cavalier in handing me the (purebred, adult) dog to take for a walk with little inquiry (just a simple form to fill out, but I hadn’t even completed it before they handed me the leash). But compared to other rescue groups that had treated me like the enemy, I found this level of trust reassuring. I took that dog home that day — as a foster-​to-​adopt — and he was beyond marvelous. I adopted him and adored him. When he passed on, I went back to Milo for a newly-​listed puppy of the same breed mix. This was in 2010. The older puppy was fresh from the kill shelter, was a terrified ground-​hugger, had just been neutered, and clearly had an upper respiratory infection. But I took him home anyway. I had mentioned the pup’s coughing and crusty, snotty nose to one of the Milo staffers, when we were in the get-​acquainted yard (with other dogs and children), but she dismissed it as kennel cough and said he was on medication for it. Long story short, my pup was diagnosed soon after that with probable distemper. He became extremely ill, but he survived with no long-​term effects. I wrote to the Milo folks and chastised them for having exposed so many people and animals (including my elderly dog, who was fortunately up to date on her vaccinations) to a canine-​deadly disease. I received an apologetic response from the director, and was reassured that they would improve their quarantine practices. And they have. Their new adoption facility allows them to isolate ill animals. Where I take issue with the other reviewer is in making this a money and — to be blunt — «consumer» issue. When you adopt an animal you take on their health and behavioral problems and deal with it. It never occurred to me to ask Milo for a refund of the adoption fee (which I had doubled as a donation) or reimbursement of medical expenses. I was just grateful that my puppy survived. He would have been dead already if they hadn’t taken him out of the kill shelter. This wasn’t a dog purchased from a breeder, with a health guarantee. He’d been rescued from a primitive, filthy facility (a notoriously poor shelter in a rural area). I knew that when I adopted him.
The thing about Milo is they do the best they can with what they have to work with. They truly love the animals and want to see them placed in forever homes, and most of the animals they rescue come from high-​kill shelters with low placement rates. They are one of the few adoption groups that lets you foster to adopt, which is perfect if you have other animals at home (sometimes dogs, like people, just do not like each other). They do not treat potential adopters as the enemy, which I have experienced with other rescue groups. And they take back and re-​home animals that adopters can no longer keep. I see those dogs listed on their website occasionally, so I know that they really do stand behind their adoptions. Yes, it’s true that Milo has made mistakes in managing their animals in the past. But they continue to improve their animal husbandry practices. They should be supported and encouraged. They save a lot of animals.
I forgot to mention that my current Milo dog is a treasure, despite his rough start in life. He’s smart, sweet tempered, eminently trainable, affectionate, dependable around strangers and children, happy, healthy and a joy to have around. He’s a perfect dog.

I adopted my cat, Lexi, from the Milo Sanctuary in Willits a little over two years ago.
She lived at the sanctuary for 10 years. There seem to be a lot of complaints of $ 300-​$ 350 adoption fees for the dogs and puppies. One out of innumerable cats (and a whole herd of dogs) needed TEN YEARS of food, litter, attention, and vet care. Many of the animals will never be adopted and will require care ($$$) for their lifetime. If potential adopters kept facts like this in mind they may not be so upset about the higher fees.
I praise how hard working and dedicated Lynne and the employees at the sanctuary and Point Richmond location are. It is no easy task to take care of so many animals on a daily basis. Food, water, socialization, medication, sanitation. Animals that would otherwise be dead. Milo has managed to rescue about 25,000 animals in the 20 years they have been operating. Humans make mistakes and sometimes they can’t tell the difference between a cold and pneumonia, URI and FIP, or kennel cough and distemper. Some of these symptoms are very subtle and when you see an animal every day you may not notice the tiny changes. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t try their best to make sure animals are properly vetted, but it is insulting to claim Milo is abusive for not being able to catch every and all medical problems. I think people get incredibly emotional when it comes to pets which may help explain some of these poor reviews.
The folks at the Milo Foundation are doing their very best, every single day, hoping to rescue and adopt out as many animals as possible while the country is facing a pet overpopulation crisis. They are activists for the welfare of these critters. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of Lexi until I was able to find her and make her a part of my life.

I am writing to share an experience I had with Milo Foundation in Marin. Since this experience, I have done an informal investigation and discovered that my experience is part of a larger trend. I am not satisfied that the only way for me to review this organization is through Unilocal and word of mouth. Included in this letter are a brief explanation of my experience and a summary of my overall concerns.
In June of this year I adopted a puppy from a Milo Foundation mobile event in Oakland. When I adopted him he was currently in a foster home and had what they described as «kennel cough», for which he was taking antibiotics. I was not allowed to take him home until two weeks later.
Fast forward a month or so and I noticed that his adult teeth were growing in completely rotten. In addition, a twitch he had since we adopted him had gotten worse, causing his chest and paw to spasm for long periods of time. I was also concerned about the extremely dry and thick skin on his nose.
A trip to the vet ensued. I was informed that Watson had just recovered from a bout of distemper, which usually kills puppies. All the symptoms I was seeing were a result of that infection. Since this diagnosis, Watson has had to have multiple surgeries, causing discomfort and costing upwards of $ 2500. Additionally, he infected his foster mom’s dog, requiring her to need medication.
My contact with the director and other leaders at Milo left me frustrated. Their replies were contradictory, and they did not offer to reimburse my costs. (I only got a refund of the $ 350 adoption fee.) I informed them that Watson had all of these symptoms on the first day I met him, that it was their duty to take him to a vet, and record lot numbers and expiration dates of vaccines. Here are there responses to those statements:
«…he had a harder time but it seemed that he was the „odd man out“ anyway and presumably had weaker genetic structure or something like that…»
«With the number of animals that we rescue we do not keep track of lot numbers, but we do buy directly from reputable companies that make the vaccines…»
His foster mom provided this statement:
«I contacted them multiple times to let them know that he was still ill. They told me not to take him to the vet, and to continue giving him the antibiotics they had given me. In the meantime, he only got sicker. Also, they asked for him to be at the mobile adoption, though I voiced my concern over this… Ethel did become sick with fairly severe kennel cough after less than a week. I had to follow up with Milo repeatedly to get them to reimburse me for that.»
Further, I contacted people who are very involved in the dog adoption world and they informed me that this is not acceptable practice:

I have a voice message from a vet stating that he and several other vets have written numerous letters to Milo regarding their isolation practices for sick animals.
Importantly, I know there are innocent animals who need homes at the end of this. I am following up on this because I feel strongly that public pressure will lead them to change their ways or at least report their practices/​results. The fact that they put Watson up for adoption (and charged $ 350), exposed him to numerous other animals, and last, that this was not a one-​time freak accident concerns me greatly.
