Pomona Feed

Great service and prices. Went out of their way to return my call and include me in an order so I could get it ASAP. No misquotes or missed dates, or endlessly out of stock like some places. Staff friendly as well. Accepts credit cards. No parking issues.

Won’t be returning. Had always found what we needed before at a good price. But after a recent visit where I had to use my credit card, I found fraudulent charges on my c/​c bill this month. When reviewing the statement these came a day after visiting Pomona Feed and using the card there. The card had not been used anywhere else. I won’t be returning.

I go to this store as my last resort. I buy dog food that is only sold in certain stores. I use to go all the time to Pomona Feed, but when the employees start to question the price of their own items, I get worried. I know the price of my item by heart, because it is a good price. So when the employees started to guess price it is a bad sign. They went over the usual price and I questioned it. So they had to search through a folder to see what the real price was and sure enough I was right. It was cheaper. I researched where I can buy this item elsewhere after that and when in need I resort back to this store. It is higher priced elsewhere, but I would rather pay for loyal employees than kids who do not know what the price is and I don’t have to question if they are lying to make a few extra bucks. Even after a couple of months not being there, the same thing happened. They questioned the price.

They pretty much have everything you need. Great price good quality products. Also, very awesome customer service. Worth the drive.

We stop in once or twice a winter to get our wood. $ 80.00 gets us enough to have wood fires all during fall and winter. Very friendly service. The young men who work their always quickly load up my car for me and pick the best stacks of wood. We don’t use their other products so I can’t speak to that but this is our go to place for wood.

Lack of Customer Service!
There is a chubby-​guy with LA Cap bossing people around as if he is trying to prove something.
He ignored a couple of customers that were looking for help.
Dude needs to be fired,
Owner, if you value your customers get rid of this chubby guy or give him a class in diplomacy and customer service.

Good spot to rent or buy your hay cheap. Everyone seems very nice and friendly. The dog food is a little pricy for me but other then that it’s a good place to pick up wood and stuff.

One stop place to shop for your pets. They have birds, rabbits, firewood, dog houses etc. Big variety of food toys, medications vitamins and more. If your close, see for yourself.

My first time here. I feed my dog the Acana dog food and they just started to carry it here and it’s closer to my house than were I normally go to in san Dimas. Customer service was bad at Pomona feed, Not attentive, no hello can I help you. I will take my money to an establishment. That can train there employees the 101 of business!!! Great your customers and ask if they need anything. Geeez!

Pomona feed is the ish. They sell Canidae and other premium dog foods at reasonable prices, and they also sell all sorts of other stuff like firewood and feed for your horses, etc. I don’t have a horse, so I don’t much about all that, but it sounds cool.
The best part with regards to the Canidae is that Pomona Feed keeps track of the Canidae frequent buyer program for you by keeping a name card filled out in their filing cabinet. They save the UPCs, so that you don’t have to worry about it. After 10 bags of dog food, you get a free one. Simple as that.
The staff is helpful, they’ll carry your 44-​lb. bag of dog food to your car for you. They are kind of serious sometimes, but at the same time they are nice and every once in awhile will even give you a free bag of dog treats!

Pomona Feed is awesome! They sell some of the best dog food out there and they are really good with my dog. I go back there every month to get a new bag of California Natural (lamb and rice) for my baby dog.
The prices are great and the service is awesome. As soon as I walk in, they know exactly what I want and they go and grab it for me and put it in my trunk! love it!
Oh you know, just also ignore the dozens of caged baby chicks. No, you can’t take one home to surprise your husband for rescuing baby chicks, don’t do it. Just keep walking!

The staff here was super friendly! I called them yesterday to ask if they had any baby chicks. A lady answered the phone within a few rings and was cheery and helpful. When I went in today, a man helped me pick out the baby chicks that I wanted. He was very nice and knowledgeable. The prices were also really great compared to another feed store I have been to. I would definitely go here again once I need more supplies, even if it is a bit of a drive.

The Pomona Feed is too cramped and dusty to be taken serious as a pet store; in my opinion its just a drive in and out store that happens to sell pet supplies. It really looks like a converted garage in a way, the store was very small and dusty. The dog food prices were pretty good, and probably the highlight of going here was seeing the bunnies and chicks. The parking in and around this location was very limited, I had to park down the street.

Really saved the day for me!!! My daughter really wanted some chicks for her birthday so we drove a long distance to another feed store in the area who’s website said they had chicks in and they did not. A family member recommended Pomona Feed and they had several varieties. The cages are very clean and the chicks are well cared for. The young man who works there took the time to explain the different breeds to us and answered all our questions. It is quite a distance from my house but worth the drive. We will be back!

I really like this place, they have all types of holistic brand dog food for a reasonable price. I was going crazy trying to find a place that sells holistic dog food without costing soo much. I driving through Mission and decided to give this place a look. They have soo many dog treats, shampoos, and a lot a lot of dog food brands to pick from.
They staff is also very help and tries the help you with the choice of dog food that you need to get. I have had so much trouble finding the right food my my pitbull. I went in here and got the best service.
I just don’t like the fact they sell live animals and that they have them in chages. –_–

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! They are so helpful and knowledgable. Their prices cant be beat. I just wish they were closer to where I live. I just have to plan my trips wisely.

Great place to order firewood. Eucalyptus, oak or mixed with many types. Prices average. Delivery charges based on area.
Pet supplies in bulk. Name brands and more.

After reading these great reviews on Pomona Feed, I was really excited to check it out for myself. Unfortunately, I ended up pretty disappointed.
The store itself is very small, but there is a big selection of food including Canidae and Orijen and the prices are pretty good. Plus they have a lot of bunnies, baby chicks, birds and dog houses. However, that’s pretty much all they have. Treats and toys and everything else is very limited. A lot of their stuff was also really dusty, I’m not sure if it’s because it has been sitting there forever or because the doors are open all day.
Several of the reviewers mentioned great service, but no one asked to help us the entire time we were there! I’d rather drive a little further out of the way and go to the Anaheim Feed Store for my pet supplies.

This place is FABULOUS! My dad recently decided he wants to raise chickens, so the fiancé and I went on a wild goose chase *keke* around LA to find a place that sold live chickens (and trust me, it’s not an easy thing to do in LA!). For Pomona Feed and Fuel we only initially had a phone number so we called and someone immediately answered and gave us the most thorough, easy to comprehend directions.
When we arrived, the place was really clean. In addition to selling cute baby chicks, they also have bunnies, birds, and food & supplies for everything from dogs and cats to hay for horses and such in the back.
Being first time chick owners, we had no idea what types of chickens existed (there are more than one?!?) or how to take care of them. The girl working there did a super great job walking us through every step of the way, from helping us choose the types of chickens that will lay the best eggs (and the most interesting! — one of ours has green and blue eggs) and have the best personalities. She helped us select food, reviewed how to care for them, and even gave us a very helpful handout on everything she reviewed in case we forgot.
A perfect experience and definitely a place I’d return to and recommend in the future (and a family owned business too!).
