Veterans Thrift Store

The Place to go if you like handbags in decent condition! I bought 4. Definitely will be back to buy more. Great sales. The store is big! They even have a collector’s items center. The thrift store was a pretty sweet find today.

First, let me start with. I love Thrift Stores. But this one if by far my favorite. They’re very organized and clean. The clothes are organized by type and size. I go almost every weekend and always come out with a good pick. Great selections and they have color coated sales every day of 75%, 50% and 25%. I just moved from Long Beach and it beats my old favorite Thrift Store from Belflower by far. A couple things I have noticed that dont really bother me is the selection of furniture isnt great and can be pricey. Also, they dont have a big selection of pants for my 8 year old (which I always check for).

I love this store. They have great stuff and great prices. Tues and thurs most clothing is ½ off before 12 (if the deals weren’t great already!). I think the employees are very friendly and have found wonderful deals here for my family. Wednesdays take a senior with you (or make a friend in the store!) for a discount on almost everything, and weekends have extra discounts, too. (Some days the discounts are for clothes, others include furniture and toys.) Fyi — there is no bathroom or dressing room so plan ahead with a large skirt or a cami, etc, for trying on clothes.

Today was the first time coming here and was surprised by the size and all the stuff they have once you walk in through the front door. Found some good stuff will definitely be shopping here from now on, The staff was really nice.

Best variety. Went for the first time today and bought the best things I’ve ever gotten from a thrift store.
Everything is sorted nicely the store is huge, one section is for clothing and accessories and the other is for everything else. They have things from veggie strainers to vintage telephones and ski boots.
Oh and they have a great collection of rings and necklaces.
Only reason why I don’t give 5 stars is because it is not in the best neighborhood. Went alone and did not feel very safe although there staff is attentive. At one point a homeless they’ve clearly had trouble with before came in and was asked to leave then got upset and stole a pair of shoes.
I did hear the staff talking about calling the cops next time this happens.
Would have felt better if I went with a friend will definitely not go alone again. Other then that it’s my new favorite thrift store defiantly worth it.

This is a large thrift store with a surprising array of things for sale. All racks are stuffed with second hand clothing. The media department in the front has books and DVDs I cannot believe people donated. I even found some brand new Quiksilver wetsuits in the sporting goods section. The wetsuits were in immaculate condition with original tags still attached. How did brand new wetsuits end up in this place? Who knows! I was looking for a place to donate some old clothes I no longer liked. Dropping off my stuff was quick and painless.

This is my FAVORITE thrift store. They have a huge selection of clothes. Make sure to check what colors are on sale that day to get the best deal. They usually have three colors on sale (25%, 50%, and 75% off). Items with red tags are designer merchandise and don’t go on sale, but still reasonably priced for what they are. They have a dressing room where you can try everything on before you purchase it, and shopping carts so you don’t have to carry everything in your arms.

First off! I bought 2 wooden pumpkins .99 cents each. I would have bought 2 BUT the 3^rd one had no price on it so they couldn’t sell it. The 3^rd was was identical to the 2 I bought for .99 cents each. SO WHY COULD THEY NOT SELL ME THE 3^rd!!!

but the housewares were kinda cheap. $ 3 for the candle holders I bought. Not a great price but not crazy.

Great prices here!!! Sometimes they have sales which makes the deal even more better.
Lots of items to choose from. I saw lots of Levi’s jeans for cheap, almost too cheap to be good. Beware if you are on the hunt for authentic vintage Levi’s because the majority of the vintage ones are fake. I recommend studying them and knowing the what to look for when you’re buying vintage Levi’s.
It’s pretty well organized and the checkout process is pretty quick.

Me and my sister love going here! Very good finds and reasonable prices. It’s not hard to find the perfect size because it’s already labeled and the fitting room is always clean.

Stopped by today to check it out and was dissapointed. I love how they put all the vintage clothing on it’s own rack near the checkout lines. I bought a few of those items as well as a genuine leather purse. Unfortunately, the rest of the store was on the trashy side. They make «security sweep» announcements (to scare off shoplifters) which is kind of ghetto. We don’t need announcements that your store has security. So yeah, 2 stars.

The 5 star rating is solely based on the finds that I discovered here and their boutique section.
Sometimes I make a trip down to Pomona to shop around and I ALWAYS come here because it’s sort of my secret spot to buy jewelry. Oh. My. Gawd. Lord heavenly jesus for all you bling collectors/​fanatics out there. There always seems to be something amazing when I come walking up to the counter. They have someone appraising everything so there is a more expensive section but other than that I would say that prices are a-​ok.
The store itself is meant for people like me who live for vintage. There is even a vintage section in the front by the bags. For the most part everything seems to be as organised as a thrift store can be. The isles are a little narrow, however, and sometimes you have to maneuver around little children.
I say it’s the perfect place for anyone who loves thrifting to check out!

Amazing find in the questionable neighborhood. Great prices on most things, ginormous selection with fitting rooms that were well kept and I think anyone could find at least one thing they liked. Super excited about this place, lots to choose from with great prices overall.

I used to come here alooooooot to thrift, but the recent times I came here, there was literally NOTHING to buy. This thrift store is def a hit or miss.

–cheap prices (usually like 1 – 10 bucks. but then again, some are more depending on brand and type of clothing, like outerwear)
–color tags!!! it changes every day, but there is a different color for 25% off, 50% off, and 75% off

This is my all time favorite thrift store. They have great specials every day, depending on the tag color you can get 25%, 50%, or 75% off. They have the clothing organized by size and by what it is (dress, pants, shirts, etc.) which is really convenient. They always have new items coming in so the selection is great if you come in bi-​weekly like I do. I’ve found great items here for amazing prices. They have brands like forever 21, h&m, papaya, Steve Madden, mossimo, merona, Sonoma, chicos, Ann Taylor, juicy couture etc. Some things are brand new with the tags or hardly worn. Sometimes you can get away with shirts for 99 cents to 2 – 3 $. If you really bargain shop like I do you can get a ton of nice stuff for 20 – 30 $ or less. The only downside to this place is that it gets very packed especially on weekends and there will be clothes on the floor everywhere and the aisles are narrow to get carts through. Some parents don’t watch their kids so kids run around the store and get in your way. But the workers go over the intercom and do their best to prevent this. They have dressing rooms which is a good thing. They have a lot of shoes and even a back warehouse with electronics, bikes, jewelry, sports gear, TVs, lamps, household items etc. They have purses, books, glasses, wallets, backpacks, wedding dresses, hats, belts and more. I love this thrift store.

I love places like this, as soon as you walk in, you get overwhelmed by the stuff that they have, this is like a real thrift store where you have to dig through things to find what you like.

Everything was organized really well. Some of the kitchen stuff was past my price point. For example I wanted to get a baking pan, but all theirs were like 6 dollars or more.
Got a Dyson vacuum for 95 dollars after tax. Getting a new Dyson costs over 300. Came with all the parts too in a separate bag they kept in the back.
They asked me if I wanted to try it out before I bought it and plugged me in.
For all purchases over 25 dollars they have you sign that you understand it cannot be returned and is sold as is. They are really up front about it, so it’s not like they’re trying to cheat you. They do this because people buy it, take valuable parts and then return it the lady said– and I can understand that.

Thrift stores are a very hit or miss. However, I’ve taken a liking towards Disabled American Veterans.
I was looking for overalls during the Halloween season and of course it was very difficult to find. I called every thrift store in town and the woman who answered the phone at Disabled American Veterans was very polite and helpful. She knew there was one in stock and was very happy to tell me so. Thank you so much. I drove my butt over there to finally get what I wanted. It was a steal for $ 4. The store is organized but if you are looking for something in particular you can always ask or just look around. The best finds are when you randomly find something. On my second visit (looking for another pair of overalls), I didn’t call this time but I just happened to ask a worker and she was like maybe you should try looking in the short sections. So I did and… guess what I found a pair! Super excited. Perfect for my costume. Thank you for having what I was looking for. Every thing in this store is affordable, some specific tags have extra discount and they have fitting rooms and a restroom.

Disabled American Veterans offers the typical cache of thrift store items: apparel, books, electronics, records, wall decorations, footwear, books, videotapes, housewares, sporting goods, bric a brac and collectibles.
The store is pretty well organized and if you’re looking for something it’s pretty easy to find the section within a few minutes.
I typically like to highlight a few departments to check out in each store I review, but unfortunately there weren’t any sections that I thought were worth a visit. I wouldn’t reccomend going here to begin with but many thrifters (myself included) are going to even if someone says the place is a tsunami zone so instead here are some things I noticed that might be helpful if you plan on going and some other random tidbits to help you get a better sense of store
— as many experienced thrifters know, small thrift stores like this are great holes for picking up collectibles and other vintage items that would get bought quickly or never even reach the shelves of bigger thrift stores like goodwill. Unfortunately, since Disabled Vets has it’s own separate department and employee running a collectible section many of these finds have already been marked up and are behind a counter.
–I spotted some awesome older electronics but unfortunately, I didn’t see outlets that the majority of thrift store electronics departments have. All items cannot be returned so this may not be worth the risk.
— I saw something I’ve never seen before in a thrift store; many of the shoes being sold only had one shoe available to try one (the other one was behind the register). From my best guess, this is due to theft. Sad days.
— funny enough, there was one rack of brand new t shirts here (I’m guessing donated from an event) and they were cheaper then the used shirts.
As far as the environment, I found this place to be pretty dirty. I have a pretty high tolerance for thrift store filth but this store was just bad. The floors had garbage on them a good chunk of the merchandise was downright dirty and as soon as I entered the store I was sneezing uncontrollably. I felt disgusting as soon as I left the store.
The pricing was mixed. For the most part, the clothing was overpriced for what it was. I found the books and the records to be well priced but unfortunately, the items had been marked with pen (
) and although the marks can be removed it’s a hassle.
The store seemed to be pretty understaffed and although I didn’t buy anything the line was long the entire time I was there so the customer service was non existent but not a big deal.
This store is definitely a change up from the typical hoohah of Pomona’s antique row but definitely not a treasure trove.

This is my all time favorite thrift store!!! Every time I come here, I find at least one thing I love and it is always for a great price. They have amazing discounts and 50% off days where you can score awesome deals. During a 50% for women’s clothing sale, I purchased two flannel shirts, a striped button down, a corduroy jacket, a belt, and a pair of shorts for EIGHT dollars! I was so excited that I returned a few days later (when it was no longer a special sale day) and found an over sized sweater and a vest for two dollars. Did I mention that everything I bought looks brand new?! I can’t believe what people will throw away! I get more compliments on the clothes I buy from here than from any other store.
The only downsides to this store is that it can get insanely crowded in here and that the shoe selection is large but can be overpriced. The crowds can be hard to deal with because people are very rude and refuse to move out of the way no matter how polite you are. I have seen some pairs marked anywhere from 50 – 100 $!!! I think they forget that this is a thrift store when they mark the shoes. The workers also seem to be rather disgruntled and unhappy. They are still pretty friendly towards the customers though.
Overall, if you love thrifting you’ve got to check this place out!
