A good portion of my hair actually fell out when Al told the second stylist Idalia to highlight my hair after the first Aisha turned me a rainbow of orange. On par with super cuts its in a plaza with a Walmart which should say it all. Owner is extremely crass talks about his sex life entire time don’t sit near the front to save yourself that horror. It’s taken 5 more trips to a reputable salon and $ 1500 to get my hair in so so shape.

I hardly have anytime nowadays to get anything done! Called the salon, spoke with Lisa came right in and she did an amazing job highlights, cut, blowout «the works» thanks babes… Xoxoxoxo

Nervous about change, I loved my last hair stylist, but location was not working for me any longer. Thankful to have found Aisha! She listened and understood my concerns and nerves. She cut my hair just how I wanted it I walked out with shiny beautiful hair.

I tried this salon recently after much deliberation as to whether I was ready to cut my long hair. It was time, I chose this salon since it is close to my home, it is clean shop, the staff dress nicely and are put together… after all, if they don’t put effort in themselves, they might not put effort in me! I was able to get an appointment very quickly as they are open 7 days a week. Upon meeting the stylist and after an consultation and pictures shown, a very nice shampoo was given and then the snipping began. The stylist was personable, professional and very pleasant. After cut and blow dry the style was nice but not exactly what I wanted. I called within 2 days and briefly explained how I felt and was given an appointment the same day. I was greeted nicely and after a brief explanation and pictures shown, I was immediately told I would be taken care of… another enjoyable shampoo and head massage, cut and blow dry. The back of my hair was what needed the most tweaking and it was. I was given attention and respect and a haircut I was very pleased with and proud to have as my crowning glory. When the rate chart states their work is guaranteed, they mean it. There was no charge to fix my hair to my satisfaction and the stylist refused a well deserved tip. This business is obviously doing things right. I was offered free bang cuttings also, obviously a nice perk of being a customer. I will be back to this establishment and will refer many people to this fine business.

Lisa is a fabulous hair stylist… She listened to my ideas and made great suggestions… My color is absolutely perfect and I am in love with my new style! I highly recommend her… And promise you won’t be disappointed…

I was looking for a new hair salon and I just looked up and there’s how Stephan’s hair salon so amazing in a prayer answered I went in and I was waiting on very shortly my hair was so long and uneven and he did l such a wonderful job on my hair I have now found a new place to go I never thought the place it could be so wonderful visit and it’s so cleanly and thighs and so nice I’m so thankful for this place Denise

I always been in love with beautiful places… This one is perfect and clean. They have an amazing treatment. Inside is awesome and I loved the music. Is very relaxing. Today I’m having a prince’s day. Better, queen’s day!

Extremely disappointed

Aisha is absolutely the best.
She has been lightening my hair which is a process since I have very dark hair with red undertones. but she’s making sure I have no brassy color! First time I’ve gone and gotten my hair done and didn’t leave in tears !

I’ve been using AL Stephens since he opened he gave me his signature cut on his adds and signs along with keratin treatment it was what I always wanted love AL and staff so as they say just cut it it go see AL and staff there all great

This is the best salon I’ve ever been to! It is run so professionally and it is such a clean salon. I especially love Aisha and how she makes me feel so glamorous!

I had haircut, style and color with Al. I specifically asked for stylist not to cut too much of my hair’s length and he took off 2 inches! I also said that I do not want fringe and he did it anyway. They also have a huge sign in the front about their «special» — $ 99 for color and cut, except it is much more if you do it with Al. I wish they would tell me that when I made my appointment. Also you cannot add tips to credit card transaction and they send you to ATM to withdraw cash for tips.
After reading so many great reviews I was clearly disappointed. I will not be returning to this place.

I called at two pm on a tuesday and was in by three. I had a brief consultation with Al and the haircut started. I had my hair washed, including a complimentary scalp massage that had me falling asleep. I am in love with the way that Aisha cut my hair and look forward to returning for a deep conditioning treatment! The whole staff was super friendly and very entertaining. I had some complimentary red wine, which was very relaxing. They have a very interesting technique for cutting hair and it makes for a fabulous hair cut. I am very pleased with the salons quality services and the atmosphere of the salon itself. I would definitely recommend!

I’m new to the area and needed a keratin treatment badly. I’ve been relying on Unilocal heavily and once again, it has done me well (thanks to reviewers). Al’s stylist are great, funny, and spunky, and I would venture to guess, it’s starts at the top from the master himself, Al Stephens’
Even better, you can sip on wine while your hair is getting processed. Just another added bonus!
Al is so full of life, and this salon probably has some of the nicest people in the area (when I was giving up all hope)! While I haven’t needed a style or color yet while living here, if I ever do Al Stephens is the guy I will go see.
Not only will I go back, but I am already referring others to go visit Al, and his wonderful stylist!

I serendipitously stumbled into this little salon after getting my nails done next door. I had long been neglecting my locks and my ends were splitting up faster than a celebrity marriage.
I was able to walk-​in with no appointment and got a quality cut from Mr. Stephens, himself. And he had no qualms about giving it to me as straight as my hair and saying I needed to take better care of my coif. I had to bid farewell to at least four inches.
He had a technique I’ve never experienced before, which included me standing for part of the cutting process. The whole staff was friendly and efficient and the salon was simple and clean, not to mention pretty new as it’s only been there for about a year.
It was $ 55 for a shampoo, condition, cut & blow out which I think is decent for a non-​McSalon in SoFlo. They’re open 7 days a week (unheard of for salons) and I like that it’s a local place and they even have their own line of haircare products. Talk about an overachiever!
I’m happy to report after almost two weeks, my hair still has that freshly-​cut look where the ends are all crisp and straight. Loving it.
BOTTOM LINE: OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK so you should be able to spare some time to give them a try!

I had the keratin treatment done in February by one of Al’s stylistas, and I am happy to update my review with a five star report. Their keratin is low low low in chemicals and my favorite part is that they will give you a letter explaining the proper maintenance of your newly enriched hair. I.e. use a sulfate-​free shampoo, dry on a low heat settings, no need to use any styling products. To make this experience even more noteworthy, you are invited back three to four days after your treatment for a complimentary wash and dry. I went about a year without keratin, but thanks to Al’s salon, I’m back in the game of virtually frizz free hair in steamy South Fla.

The first time I stepped into Al’s salon was also on a whim. I had just received a remarkably bad cut and color at a so-​called «high end» establishment, and I was miserable. One of Al’s stylists took me to her chair and did a consultation. Within minutes, Al stepped in and guided me in the direction that suited me perfectly. I have since gone back to Al many more times with zero regrets. I have also had the pleasure of watching people walk in off the street and walk out with huge smiles as they are transformed from a lackluster ‘do to one that absolutely shines.
The salon is tucked away in a strip mall, and please don’t let that fool you. In fact, as it’s a new location for the franchise, you can be treated to a cut and color (highlights, face framing, one color, you name it) for only $ 99.00! (And I don’t know how long this special pricing lasts, so please take advantage of it asap!) I’ve found that price to be way below the average cost for a mediocre cut in this area … and well WELL below what you would pay for the expertise these stylists offer.
